Too Many Things Going Wrong

~ Ava ~

“What do you mean, Adrain?" I left the door handle and walked to the front of his desk.

“Exactly what you heard. Do the drawing now, and I wouldn’t hesitate to sign it."

I bit hard on my lower lip, knowing this plan was on the brink of getting scattered.

I slowly walked back to the couch we had sat on earlier and slumped on it.

“I will do the drawing. " I said and watched his face light up instantly.

He smiled wildly and brought out the papers I would be using for it.

“This is it." He said and placed the paper and box in a stool, then placed it on my side.

“Draw while I watch you do it." He sat next to me.

I unfolded the paper and gently placed it on the stool, then opened the box and picked up the pencil.

I made a sketch, then forcefully threw the pencil on the floor and held my head with both hands.

"Ouch," I cried and rose from the seat.

Adrain jerked up from the seat. “What is going on?"

"Ouchh." I cried more and staggered a little.

"What is it, Charlotte?” he begged and came to hold my waist.

I held my head tighter and wriggled out of his grip.

"The migraine," I groaned.

"The migraine?" He repeated and held my hands, helping me to sit.

“I thought you finally got rid of it years ago."

I shook my head. “I never got rid of it, Adrain; after it was treated, it resurfaced regularly." I mumbled.

“Fuck. I'm so sorry for this, Charlotte. I guess I caused it by talking and forcing you to do the drawing.” He pleaded, his eyes filled with regrets.

He left my hand and slid his hands into his pockets, then pulled out his phone. “Hold on for a second; let me get a nurse to come treat you."

"No," I blinked. "You don’t have to do that, Adrain. Remember I’m staying away from people for now. No one gets to see me till my father's legacy is properly gathered. " I explained.

"Yeah, that’s right, Charlotte. But the nurse is from a distant hospital. She wouldn’t know you from anywhere.”

"No," I insisted. Don't call anyone.

"You can’t do these, Charlotte; it’s your health we are talking about here. Nobody knows you are back, not even Austin, my beta.” He turned towards the door.

"I didn’t even come with a guard, nobody. Your presence in Lycaonia is just between you and me; nobody knows about it.”

‘Whoah, very good.' I screamed in my head. Hearing his beta doesn’t even know about the Charlotte girl being around made it easier. No guards, no body; it was just him and I.

“Then allow it to be between you and me. Don’t get a nurse, Adrain. You don’t know whose spy she might be.”

He dipped his chin. “It’s okay if that’s what you want.”

I smiled and rested my head on the chair.

He went to his desk and took the half-burnt photo and came to sit.

“Tell me what prompted this drawing, Charlotte; let’s see if you remember." He pointed at the drawing.

What the fuck was this? This very drawing has really prompted a lot.

Adrain should just shut his mouth and let me be.

I raised my head. "Wh…what?" I stuttered.

"I mean, the day you made this drawing, what prompted it?” He smiled and folded his arms, watching me.

"This is not the best time to talk, Adrain. I have a migraine," I reminded him and rested back.

He sighed and stood up from the couch and walked to the window. He drew the blinds up, and then the ray of sun came hitting my face from the opaque window.

He crossed his hands behind his back and stared down from the window.

I watched Adrain from the back. He was very tall just the way any girl would want their man to be. His dark shiny hair fit perfectly to his face.

He stood firm; his presence alone radiated raw power.

He did get it all. Beauty, wealth, and power. All of it.

Adrian was really beautiful, and I believe that is why Emilia didn’t hesitate to get married to him.

Poor Emilia, isn’t it clear he was basically using her as his sex toy?

And here he was, drooling over his childhood sweetheart—Charlotte—like she was some sort of goddess.

Doesn’t seem new though; Emilia was bound to lose all her life. And how ironic it seems, she never lost to anyone else but me.

“Did you come with someone, Charlotte?" Adrian's voice cut me off from my world of thinking.

“Someone?" I echoed in confusion.

His expression darkened and he turned to me. “The code to the gate. It’s just you and I that know it. And I came in before you.”

I still don’t get it. What exactly was he saying?

"Come," he signaled.

I gently walked over to the window, and he pointed down.

I looked closer to see a girl dressed in black pants and a black hoodie; her red hair rested above her shoulders, and she stood with her hands placed on her waist.

I looked more closely and gasped in shock.

Nyx.

What was she doing here and how did she get here?

Following me was never part of the plan.

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    His Control Is Slipping

~ Emilia ~The bang I felt on my head when I woke up was massive.I smiled, remembering how Adrain carried me in his arms to my room and then tucked me into bed after I told him I felt sleepy. He really cared, though. He ensured the vase didn’t hit my head, not just once but thrice. How do you feel when someone you think doesn't love you suddenly starts to care? The feeling is reassuring, so reassuring that you would fall for him again.I rolled myself out of the bed and headed to the bathroom. When I came back to my room, my mind raced back to the event that played earlier. How could a vase drop from the servants' quarters not even once but three whole times?Something is off. I sat down on my bed and crossed my leg, looking up to the sky as the thoughts flew in.I saw the figure, at least from his neck down to his head. But they were all covered in a black mask; I couldn’t see his face. Why would someone throw off a vase without even checking if someone was there? Let's say the v

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    Someone Is Watching

~ Adrain ~I paced in my room, patiently waiting for Austin to arrive.“You called me." Austin bowed as soon as he stepped in."Earlier at the courtyard, did you make sure all the guards were present?" I stopped to face him.He tilted his head, then nodded."Yes, Alpha, I made sure they all left their quarters."“No," I shook my head. “They didn’t all leave their quarters.” I leaned closer.“Who then threw the glass?"“The glass?" Austin echoed, confused.“Yes, the vase. Not just once or even twice, but thrice. Three fucking times." I made the sign with my hands for clearer understanding.Austin still looked confused, and then I knew I needed to explain.“After addressing the guards, I was leaving and then bumped into Emilia, and next thing, a vase fell from the servant quarters almost hitting her.” I paused.Austin's expression was unreadable, but a mix of shock and confusion was written all over him.“I pulled her out the first time, the second, and the third time." I clenched my fi

~ Emilia ~I grunted deep and pushed him off my body.“I didn’t ask for your help. " I eyed him and turned to go."Emilia." He called and grabbed my hand, pulling me close to him.My body fell into his, like my right hand.on his chest.“Arghhhh." I screamed as the glass fell the second time, shattering on the floor inches before me.I rested my head on his chest and shut my eyes tightly. The glass would have shattered on my head if not for Adrain.I opened my eyes and raised my head to look at him, and our eyes met.'No,' I screamed in my head. Don't fall for this Emilia. He just wanted to save you, not because you are special. It’s still the same thing he would have done for anyone that stood there.I disentangled from his hold."Thanks," I muttered and turned to leave when his voice stopped me."Just wait, Emilia.”I stopped in my tracks without turning to face him.He walked up to me and held my shoulders.“You are upset with me, Emilia.” He started.I stood still, not even movin

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    The Alpha's Cruelty

~ Emilia ~ I watched Adrain leave and shook my head in disgust. Adrain isn't even worth my love. But wasn’t I even a fool for falling for someone who made it clear in the first place that our marriage was just for paper's sake and nothing else attached to it? But something off was going on in this pack. I have overheard Austin complaining about a curse and the death of someone. I hissed; it shouldn’t be any of my business though. The pack's affairs aren't meant to be bothering me. My next plan was finding out more about Charlotte and how she is anyway, Ava. I looked at the drawing and made up my mind not to continue with it or even look at it ever again. I needed to concentrate on my well-being till the marriage days elapse, and I would leave just as he said. I folded back the half-painted drawing, including the box of instruments I needed for the drawing, and headed outside to trash it. I didn’t want to trash it anywhere close because looking at it might make me wa

~ Adrain ~I woke up with my head pounding severely.I closed my eyes, trying to remember the event of the previous day.I recalled them one after the other.Charlotte was attacked by some red-haired girl whose identity still remained unknown to me. Though she confirmed she knew her.But how?I sprang up from the bed, recalling she had a cut on her palm while trying to save herself.I took my phone from the bedside table and scrolled through, searching for her number.Shit! I didn’t have her contact; we communicated through letters just as she requested.I climbed down from my bed and headed to the bathroom when I felt a heavier bang on my head.I walked back to my bed and sat down.“My goodness,” I exclaimed. The incident of last night slammed into me. And I clenched my fist. What did I just do? Tried to be intimate with Emilia and even mistook her for Charlotte, mentioning Charlotte's name at that point.Emilia's face played on my head. Though I was drunk, I could recall how tear

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    I Was Never The One

~ Emilia ~I had waited up almost all night waiting for Adrain. But he didn’t show up.I was a bit confused on why I was actually waiting for him, not like he cared about me, though. We weren’t even married as normal couples. It was just a contract marriage that would last for a few days.“I don’t think he is going to show up, ma'am. " His beta Austin bowed after watching me pacing up and down in the living room for hours."It's fine, Austin. Not necessarily waiting for him, though. I just couldn’t sleep.”Adrain moved towards the door. “Alpha mentioned he wouldn’t be home early, so I think you should just go in and sleep." He said and left."My goodness," I exhaled. Why was I even waiting for someone who didn't know I was waiting for him?I sighed heavily and went up to my room.I tossed on my bed, trying to sleep, but I couldn’t.I rose from the bed and decided to still wait for him a little while.I came back to the living room and sat down; my mind raced with thoughts as I stared
