Evie stood by the bathroom door with a frown. Her mate was inside the female bathroom? But how? Or maybe, she had overreacted. Perhaps it wasn’t time yet. However, just as she turned to return, the gnawing in her heart returned, pulling her towards the door. It was like a force she couldn’t resist or ignore. Again, she could feel her wolf trying to communicate with her. Whatever she wanted to say, Evie wished to know.
Left with no choice, she pulled the door handle open and went in straight.
The scene she met was the exact opposite of the ones in her dream. Although she had never dreamt of meeting her mate in a female bathroom, she had dreamt of meeting a prince charming who with all smiles, awaited her to come to him and gave her an embrace of acceptance the minute she did come to him.
However, the scene before her was… At the far end of the bathroom was a man with his pants pooling at his feet and his phallus buried deep inside a lady; she looked like one from the lower noble families. He was pumping in and out of her while she clamped her mouth to hold back her moans.
It was the same man who had caused a scene earlier with his entrance. Alpha Ronan of the Blue Moon pack. The sworn enemy of her clan.
For strange reasons, the scene before her caused anger to pool inside her. The two people had barely even noticed her; each seeking their own climax. She had decided to leave, but the next moment, she found herself marching towards them with an anger that shook her entire body. It was only when she was close that they did notice her.
Seeing her, the lady had a terrified expression. “Princess.”
“Get out!” She bellowed at her. She had never had to scold anyone or scream orders at anyone before. Now that she tried it, it somehow felt good. So good.
Quickly releasing her dress, she willingly released herself off the man she was pleasuring, scampering out of the bathroom without bothering to clean up. It disgusted Evie more. Although it was her first time seeing such scene, she had read in the books she sneaked into her room from the library that there was a need to clean up after each mess.
“Princess.”
When she returned her gaze to the man, he was already properly dressed, like nothing had happened.
“If it wasn’t your coming-of-age ball, I would have asked if you wanted to replace her. Was that why you sent her away?”
Evie swallowed; her heart had begun to thump loudly, and a feeling of excitement raced through her veins. Was this it? But why was it him?
“Do you feel it?”
He picked up a disposable hot towel from the side and slowly wiped his hands. “Does your father know you are in here with me?” A cold chuckle escaped his lips. “He sure has some guts to leave his precious daughter with me inside the restroom. Have I become that soft?”
Evie barely heard him. All she wanted at that moment was to fulfil her wolf’s wish to kiss his mouth shut and get him to put his mark on her. Subconsciously, she took a step forward.
“If I were you, I’d run along now. Don’t tempt the beast while it still sleeps. I am no saint.”
Evie wanted to chuckle. Why did she sense the panic in his voice? Does that mean he felt it too? Her eyes were stuck to his blue ones; they seemed to have some kind of energy that kept pulling her towards him.
Steadying her shaking legs, she took another step forward, ignoring her wolf’s inner voice to pounce on him and capture his lips. At the seventh step, she was a few inches away from him. He too seemed to have lost his voice and was watching her as if anticipating her next move.
Then she moved, her hands hovering in the air for a second before landing lightly on his folded arms. There it was—what she needed to confirm her suspicions. The sparks. It was a thing between mates. Each time they touched each other, there was bound to be an electrifying sensation; so small and harmless. It made her want to close her eyes and focus on the sensation.
“Princess.”
His voice made her eyes snap open. She hadn’t even realized she had closed them. His blue eyes were shining brighter than they had been when she had first seen them, and his veins seemed to be burgling from his hands.
“You feel it too, don’t you?” She didn’t want to be direct. After all, she was still the princess of her clan. She still had to save herself some face.
He flung her hands away immediately, taking a few steps backwards. “I’d advise that you return to your little party. Shouldn’t you be looking for someone else at this point?”
Her brows squinted. Why was he trying to run away? Why was he denying whatever it was between them? “Why should I be looking for someone else when I have found him who I seek?”
She took another step forward, but he took another backwards in exchange. A chuckle escaped her lips. She was so loving the chase. She took another step forward, and he did step backwards. “We can continue like this. Or, you can admit the truth and spare us the chase.”
He frowned; his signature cold, ruthless frown that sent chills down people’s spine. If it had been before, she probably would have cowered in fear, but at that moment, he looked so cute to her.
“You seem not to be scared of me.”
“Is there a reason I should?”
Her reply seemed to shock him, even when he hid it perfectly with a cold laugh. “Your father hasn’t told you what I am capable of, I see. A word of advice? Stay far away from me. You don’t want to see the other side of me.”
She hesitated for a while before a bright, innocent smile appeared on her face. “Well, I look forward to seeing every part of you…” She paused, her voice lowering to a whisper. “Mate.”
His eyes wavered, changing quickly from its beautiful blue color to a brown one and back. She knew it was his wolf fighting to come out. The name-calling had worked. However, before she could say a word, he jumped out through the nearest window, transforming into a large white Lycan as he disappeared into the woods.
Evie stood there for a long time after he left, his scent filling her entire nose and numbing her senses. She longed to chase after him and follow him back to wherever he was headed, but she knew she would never catch up with him unless he wanted her too. Her wolf still needed some training to be able to run that fast. With a sad sigh, she finally turned to return to the ball, wondering why nobody had come to use the bathroom since she walked in.
Had he done something? Or was she just overthinking?
“There you are!” It was her mother, walking up to her with a sweet smile the minute she was out. your father and I were looking all over for you. Come. There are some guests we’ll like you to meet.”
Although she knew what her mother was up to, she still followed behind like a puppet. They were trying to help her find her mate faster. How should she tell them that she had already found him and he happened to be someone they may not accept?
The King sat on the rock close to the garden. He was picking up pebbles and throwing them into the little river that ran along the flowers and leaves. He looked up, and Morak was coming down the stairs."Isn't it a bit odd to see the King of the Blue Moon Clan throwing pebbles into the river?" Morak asked as he descended down the stairs and stood by the rock where the King sat.The King of the Blue Moon Clan looked up, brows creased in confusion and palms clenched. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out.He badly wanted to let it all out, but he couldn't say a thing."Is it about the Princess?" Morak guessed, and the King's eyes snapped back to him instantly."How did you know?" He scoffed and stood up, shaking his head in the process."She's well mannered, she's a beauty, and she dresses smart. Do you think it's normal for me to...." He sighed again.."You know for me to..." The King chuckled, like it was too hard for him to say. And it definitely was."You know for me to j
The King moved swiftly, grabbing her hand and pushing her back without touching his own sword. His sword was still sheathed and was stuck into the ground next to him.Alpha Ronan had decided to show the Princess of the Crystal Clan what it took to beat him, the King of the Blue Moon Clan.He chuckled when she groaned and came forward again. He shook his head. "Keep moving like that, and you're going to die. Patience is a virtue, Princess." He said and she rolled her eyes.Evie dropped her sword as well, her hands laid flat on the ground as he pushed her back again. The King was like an immovable rock. She looked around, and Lady Quinn and Lady Salvatore were hailing her to keep the good work going. She ran quickly once again, pressing her knee on the wet field. She grabbed the King's leg and pulled him down.Alpha Ronan, with deep interest, was going to see what the Princess of Crystal Clan could do.He was thrilled at first when Morak had told him how good she was at fighting, and he
The meadow was beautiful, like Evie had imagined it to be. She assembled the arrows and then the swords she had brought for the six of them.It was nice seeing that they were all in the huge meadow, all together to shoot and learn how to do that. She had never thought the Lord would tag along, and she was happy he did."Are you sure it's the same? I don't think it is." Lady Quinn said, picking up the dry meat to drop it on the plates she had begun to arrange."Really? I actually thought it was the same thing." Evie said, scrunching up her nose in disgust as she watched the Lady Quinn drop another piece of meat into the fry pan.The meadow visit had somehow turned into a picnic, a big picnic she was enjoying. She kept shuffling through the bags she had dropped, only for something to fall down. When she bent to pick it, big, huge hands had already picked it up from the ground, and she turned around to see the King pocketing the item in his garments."Is it yours?" She squinted her eyes
When they got to the dungeon, the woman was tied to a pillar that stood tall in the middle of the dungeon where she was kept.Evie scrunched her nose due to the stench that came from everywhere.'God! How was the woman perceiving all these?' She wondered."Wake her up." Alpha Ronan ordered, and a bucket of water was poured on the woman, snapping her out of sleep..She gasped, looking around as her breath increased knowing, she was captured."Who sent you? Let's not beat around the bush.. I'd like to end this quickly." He said, picking up a rod that Evie had not seen.It was at the bottom of the table, close to where the woman's feet were kept. Was he really going to..."Hmm?" The King hummed, looking at the rod like it was something interesting. Well, for him it was."Who sent you? I won't be merciful again and ask you that. Better spill what you know." He clicked his tongue. The woman said nothing, probably wanting to see what the King of the Blue Moon Clan could possibly do.Thud! T
Evie unsheathed her sword, and blocked another arrow that was coming her way.. she did the same thing all over again.Morak grabbed his bow and shot three arrows at the same time towards where the arrows were coming from. The shooting ceased, and Evie used that time to run towards the middle of the woods. She grabbed a branch and jumped on another branch."Be careful, Princess." She heard Morak's voice yell."Hello there." Another voice came from above her.Evie pushed the branch, stretching her leg and kicking the woman that was on the branch."Too slow." The woman whispered and kicked the branch where Evie was standing, and she fell..not after grabbing the other branch and bringing the woman with her. When they landed on the ground, Evie smiled when the woman stood up as well, clenching her fist. Her sword had fallen far off, and thankfully, the woman had no sword and bow to shoot. So they would have to fight with their hands. She caught the assassin's hand and blocked effortlessly.
The next day, being a free bird was the best thing ever. Evie was getting closer to everyone in the palace.Evie picked up the chess piece. Every chess piece meant one thing, and she was willing to find out what it was.Just like the chess piece, the files given to her by the King were a hidden piece she had to find. She placed the files on the table, and picking up the ink, she began to fill in the spaces. She could do it. She could show the King that a woman could do anything and everything a man could."Are you still hellbent on proving the King wrong, Your Highness?" She nodded, smiling as she arranged the files once again. She picked up the files concerning the man who murdered his wives and children most cruelly, and then another film about a drunkard who had his way with a girl and killed her."Why are all these files completed even though it was just a week ago?" She asked."Because it was completed? They don't keep uncompleted files in the drawer if they aren't completed. Mil
