Chapter Twenty - Two

The next day, being a free bird was the best thing ever. Evie was getting closer to everyone in the palace.

Evie picked up the chess piece. Every chess piece meant one thing, and she was willing to find out what it was.

Just like the chess piece, the files given to her by the King were a hidden piece she had to find.

She placed the files on the table, and picking up the ink, she began to fill in the spaces.

She could do it. She could show the King that a woman could do anything and everything a man could.

"Are you still hellbent on proving the King wrong, Your Highness?" She nodded, smiling as she arranged the files once again.

She picked up the files concerning the man who murdered his wives and children most cruelly, and then another film about a drunkard who had his way with a girl and killed her.

"Why are all these files completed even though it was just a week ago?" She asked.

"Because it was completed? They don't keep uncompleted files in the drawer if they aren't completed. Mil
