“Three hundred million gold coins.” I heard a deep voice say. People in the hall started whispering and gasping, looking back. I was shocked too,my eyes scanned the area following the direction of the voice.

I didn't see the person clearly. But from the figure I saw,it was a man. He stood in the shadows with someone beside him so I couldn't see him clearly, but I could see his eyes. His piercing silver grey eyes stared directly at me, I shuddered in fear.

I heard the auctioneer finalised the bidding, I had been sold yet again. I sniffed and wiped my eyes, when I looked again the man was gone.

Some huge men in black came up to the stage and pulled me up. They must have been sent by the one who bought me.

“Move.” One of them ordered.

I stood up weakly and tried to walk but I fell. I was exhausted, my whole body was in pain and my head ached badly. The men looked at each other unsure of what to do.

“Miss, please try to walk.” I heard one say coldly.

I couldn't help but give him the side eye despite my condition. Miss, I thought.

I thought they would push or drag me like the guards from the slave home, but these ones let me walk and even called me “Miss.”

I forced myself to stand and follow them. As we walked, one of them suddenly paused and the others followed suit. He gave a hand signal to one who bowed and left.

“Wait for a moment, Miss.” He said with his gruff voice.

I looked at him,he must be their leader. He was quite taller and bulkier than the rest,he had short black hair and a scar ran through his left cheek.

The one who left came back with a big, old faded polo. He took it and gave it to me. I had momentarily forgotten that I was naked, so I collected it and put it on.

“Thanks.” I muttered.

He seemed to remember something and walked towards me, he was with a key. He unlocked the chain from my neck.

My neck felt free, I rubbed it in delight.I no longer felt the choking feeling.

They started walking, and I followed them. As we walked, I saw other sold slaves being handed to their masters. We reached outside, and for a long time I breathed fresh air.

Outside, a black SUV was parked. The men walked towards the car and opened the rear door.

“Get in.” The leader of the guards ordered.

My buyer must be inside, I thought. I entered the car and looked around and saw no one. I wondered where he was and most importantly I wondered where I was being taken to.

What if they wanted to kill me? What if they were taking me to do much worse things than what I had experienced in the slave home? What if my buyer was much worse than the guards? These thoughts ran in my head as my heart raced.

The men were still outside. From the car window, I saw the leader talking with a bald man. I recognised him, he was the man conducting the auctions. I looked at him with disgust, remembering the words he had shamelessly uttered.

As I sat in the car, I thought about my life. I thought about how my life had changed in a span of a few months. My thoughts went to my parents, I wondered if they were alright. It hurts, but I still loved them and hoped to see them one day.

Thoughts of the church filled my head, how godmother had sold me and the words she said to me. I remembered the look of disgust on her face as she said “ Sinful bitch!” I wondered how sister Agnes was faring. I'm sure she must have been fed lies about my disappearance by sister Martha.

Though I knew it seemed impossible, I hoped to see her again. Tears welled up in my eyes but I sniffed them back. I was scared but I couldn't cry now, I had to be strong. I don't know what I was going to face.

I looked at the men again, they were still talking to the bald man. I furrowed my brows, wondering what they were talking about for so long.

I heard a scream.

“Ahhhh!”  It was coming from the other side. I leaned on the other car window and looked in the direction of the scream. I was shocked and disheartened by the scene I saw.

It was a slave girl, on all fours like an animal.  A young girl of not more than fifteen years dressed in a gown made of fine linen, sat on her back like one would sit on a horse. She had a horse whip on her hands, she whipped the slave girl who screamed in pain.

A crooked looking man stood at their front while dragging the chain on the slave girl’s neck like a dog. The slave girl’s face was bleeding, the whip had hit her on her face.

I saw the young girl cackling, she was enjoying this.

“Mum, this is soooo much fun. Thank you for this.” She said, facing a middle aged woman who was also dressed richly like the girl.

“Anything for you darling.” I heard the woman say.

I couldn’t watch any longer and looked away. Fear ran through my spine as I knew I might face something like this or probably worse.

The car door opened as two of the men sat by my side, the leader sat at the front while another man drove the car.

My heart jumped as the car started moving, the windows closing as the two sat by my side saying nothing.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked, my voice trembling.

“Are you going to kill me?"

That's when one of them turned.

“You're now a property of Don Damon Vyon. If we so much as touch you, we'll be dead.

  • Sold to Mr. Mafia   Chapter 80: I'M WRONG MY PRINCESS

Damon's povI held onto the petite body that had clearly gone too far with just five shots. She was tipsy—drunk, even—and trying hard to mask it. This little girl had done her best to keep her secret from her friends, especially since she was mine. My pet. My desired pet.She had pushed herself, going as far as taking five shots just to keep her truth buried. Now she looked all tangled up, dizzy and flushed."Nope. She’s my woman," I said bluntly. As for Zach—just being here made my skin crawl. His presence was the worst. I had half a mind to shove him into the wall, but I didn’t want to ruin the girls' party."What?!" the girl called Scott exclaimed. She had been leaning unsteadily against my side, reeking of cheap perfume that invaded my nostrils and turned my stomach. There was disappointment etched across her face, but I couldn’t be bothered. Desperate women were the kind I despised most, and Scott fit the description perfectly. Every gesture, every touch, irritated me.Turning to

  • Sold to Mr. Mafia   CHAPTER 79: GAME

Iris’s pov“What?!” Scott suddenly exclaimed after she stood up from under the table. But luckily for me, Damon had let go the moment she bent down—and with swift, calculated movements, he even adjusted my dress back into place. So I didn’t understand what she was screaming about.“No way. Look what I found under the table!” she said, rising up with a ring box in her hand.“Oh my gosh!” Ava and Mia exclaimed in unison.“Who was about to propose today? Or did I ruin the surprise?” Scott asked, a slight blush spreading across her face.“I wonder the same,” Ava added, glancing at the two gentlemen seated beside me. But they were enemies—complete opposites in everything. As we speculated over who had planned a surprise proposal, a man who looked to be in his early thirties walked by, scanning the room as if he were searching for something.“Oh my goodness!” he gasped. “That ring is expensive! I was about to propose, but she turned me down... So I dropped it under the table and forgot wher

  • Sold to Mr. Mafia   CHAPTER 78: DAMON

Iris’s povCut in the middle, I sat obediently, watching everything as it unfolded.I wanted to leave, to sell quickly and get out, but Andrew kept making matters worse.Meanwhile, Scott was being overly attentive to Damon, offering him high-level service like he was royalty."Iris, if you don't mind, can we continue our conversation?" Andrew asked, clearly trying to pull my attention back.I glanced at Damon, and of course, he didn’t bother hiding his reaction. His brows furrowed deeply into a frown. But this was Damon—he had beaten Andrew before. So what was holding him back now? Was it because of Scott? No way. Damon was a monster in his own right.I nodded in response to Andrew, wishing I could just dig a hole and bury myself beneath it.I had actually liked...“Oh fUCK— my gosh!” Scott suddenly exclaimed.I turned to her, just in time to see she’d spilled a bowl of soup all over Damon’s pants.I instinctively stood up, grabbing a small towel from the side. I dabbed at his pants q

  • Sold to Mr. Mafia   CHAPTER 77- OUTSIDE IDENTITY

Iris’s POVMoney?A fake name? And a grudge with Damon?I remembered when he’d mentioned Damon back at my tiny apartment. I hadn’t taken him seriously. But now, knowing he was once beaten nearly to death by Damon—punched repeatedly, left almost lifeless—it all feels too real.I had tried my very best to care for him, to tend to his wounds and stand up for him. But before that, he’d done far worse to me.I don’t understand any of it. I still don’t. Whose side am I supposed to take?Yes, Andrew has helped me—helped me a lot. When I had almost lost hope, sitting alone on a cold metal chair under the harsh, relentless storm, it was him who found me, who offered a hand. But what I didn’t understand was why he treated me the way he did that night. Why did Damon hit him? And why did Damon keep calling him “Zach”?Who is he?"Little miss, you’ve come so far and forgotten me already, huh?" Andrew said, dragging out a chair and sitting beside me.“Here, Iris. Have a bowl of soup. I’ll get you s

  • Sold to Mr. Mafia   CHAPTER 76: ZACH

Damon’s povLeaning back in the chair, I exhaled deeply.Three months. Three long months of dealing with Zach, and still….no damn success.“Fuck!” I yelled, slamming the laptop shut and shoving it across the desk with force. My fist collided with the wall, pain flaring instantly as blood dripped down my knuckles. I lit a cigarette, letting the smoke coil lazily around me.I couldn't believe it. I was already losing to that maniac. Not just losing—I had already lost more than enough.Or maybe I’d been letting my emotions cloud my judgment, recently this wasn't me I seem to have been slacking off on my prey.It was time to be ruthless. Calculated.I kicked the chair aside and stumbled out of the room, only to bump into David.“Apologies, boss,” he said immediately, standing upright and bowing so low I almost rolled my eyes.“What brings you here?” I asked, voice low and sharp.“Miss just woke up, sir. She’s had breakfast.”I sighed inwardly. I missed my little girl so damn much I’d orde

  • Sold to Mr. Mafia   CHAPTER 75: ANDREW

Iris’s povStretching my numb body, I slipped through the sheets, thanks to Damon’s absence, I’d actually slept well for once.Although I had him and his boundless energy to thank or blame for that. I often wondered how he managed to last so long. That man was relentless.Time had flown. I glanced around the empty room before walking toward the mirror, catching my reflection in the glass.I wasn’t sure what was going on with me lately. All I’d wanted to do was eat and sleep. That was it.It had already been three full months since Damon returned, since that night when I’d heard him whisper those three words…I love you.I missed him. A lot. And I still wasn’t sure I’d truly heard him say it. Maybe it had been a dream. Or maybe not. Regardless, I was certain of one thing, I’d fallen for the monster. My stomach suddenly let out a loud growl."Yep. There’s my morning alarm," I muttered to myself. I’d gotten used to living alone without Damon. I had planned on getting a job more than once,
