Chapter Three- Concerned

“When is she really going to wake up, Riley?” a deep masculine voice asked in what sounded like concern.

“You said she was going to wake up anytime soon. Why isn’t she waking up already?” the voice added.

“I don’t know, Alpha. She was just hypervilating, it’s nothing serious” a feminine voice retorted. Everything seemed dark to me, I began to open my eyes bit by bit, and I winced due to how my throat felt.

“Good to hear, she is awake” the feminine voice whispered in a low tone.

I gazed around the room I was in; it looked like a clinic or so. I was on a hospital bed; everywhere was painted white, light reflected from the window.

I stood upright on the bed staring at whose voices I heard. It was a young raven-haired lady; she made her way towards me.

“Drink this, it will help your throat feel normal again” she handed me a glass of water. I nodded taking the glass from her and gulping down all the content. I sighed in relief.

I glanced at the other person in the room; it was the mysterious man from earlier on that bought me in a non-chalant manner.

“I’m Riley Miles by the way; if you need me I will be always ready to help, Mia” she walked out of the room; I wasn’t surprised how she knew my name either.

I gazed at her till she left before averting my gaze to the mystery man. He looked dumbfounded like he didn’t know what to say. I cleared my throat to probably bring him back to reality.

He must have snapped out of his daze because he turned back uttering.

“Follow me”

My legs felt weak like I hadn’t walked in days, I endured it and began walking behind him; he opened the door indicating for me to step out. I stared in awe at the amazing view before me.

Was a hospital this big?

The hallway was wide leading to so many corners which led to rooms. There were set of chandeliers hung down to the end corner of the hallway. Paintings and artistic designs were hung on the walls of the hallway, I kept o following him seeing awesome views.

“You’re having your apartment to yourself for now” he stated in a fond voice.

Apartment to myself?

“Does one have apartment in a hospital?” I asked in a whispering tone.

“Hospital?” he chuckled.

“This is no hospital, Rainfall. It is the pack house” he added.

“Pack house? What is that?” I asked obliviously. He halted in his tracks turning back to look at me. He looked at me furrowing his eyebrows like I had uttered the dumbest thing in the world. I stared blankly at him.

“I smell it in you, Rainfall. Your question only indicates that you know nothing about it” he stated then he kept on walking. I also continued walking but was kept on knitting my brows in total confusion.

What does he mean when he said ‘I smell it in you?’ is there something I really don’t know about? I arched my brows trying to comprehend what he stated then it dawned on me… shit!

This must be a place where he and the gang and resides in; they were this many? This looked like a royal castle, so gigantic and wide. It will take me half a decade to finally master this mansion.

He halted in front of a door in what felt like ages. He twisted the door knob causing the door to open. He stepped in while I followed suite, I gazed at the room in awe. It was painted maroon and shades of black, there was a night stand beside the queen-sized bed, maroon pillows were placed beautifully on it.

There was a couch opposite the TV to get a better view. It looked more like a hotel.

“This is an old room no one really uses it, but it is still cleaned by the maids daily, so you should be okay with it” he walked past me and opened a door leading to a balcony which an amazing view. I could see a well-treated garden from where I stood.

I began to feel uncomfortable. Something was not right here. Why all this treatment for a girl being sold?

“The bathroom is at that corner over there” he said pointing to the end corner of the room. He stared at me for split seconds before heading for the door.

“Don’t try escaping, Rainfall. You’ll only get yourself in danger” he slammed the door on his way out.

What did he mean I will only get myself in danger?

His gang? Are they going to shoot me down?

I sighed tiredly. Why does he call me rainfall? It kind of sounds old-fashioned to me. I will have to summon courage to ask him why he calls me that.

I gently sat on the bed thinking of what I should do next. Why do I feel normal and safe? I’m meant to be frightened or rather worse be at unease that I’ve been sold and now currently live in a house full of gang members.

I felt as though I was bound to end up here and I have to behave myself. I felt the urge to ease myself so I headed over to the bathroom; I gasped upon sighting it. It was tiled with white designs both on the wall and floor which made it seem sparkling.

There was a well-treated bath tub beside it was a glass made Jacuzzi. There were two sinks with mirror facing it. It looked too good to be true. At the other side of the bathroom were two doors.

I opened the first door which led me to a walk-in closet. There weren’t any clothes present there; no one seemed to live here due to how large the mansion was. I felt bad.

This is a house of gang members who engage in illegal means like murder, embezzlement, theft from innocent people. I felt guilty to be living off of it. I decided to live in the attic that seemed to be the humblest thing I could do at least.

I opened the door in hopes to see the unknown man but as expected I had no idea on the way I should pass. I began walking aimlessly in hopes to at least see him until I bumped into somebody.

“Umm…I’m sor-”

“Are you blind? Didn’t your mama teach you how to walk?” a thin red-haired lady with green eyes yelled in a high-pitched voice. She looked extremely pissed.

“Can’t you at least observe where you are going? Who the hell are you anyway?” she asked folding her arms. I stared at her dumfounded. Why is so aggressive? Who do I even say I was?

“You deaf or something? Anyway, never mind. You must be some random maid trying to get themselves into man’s bed. Urrgh…” she rolled her eyes grunting and fixing her hair and dress.

“I have to go see my man who happens to be the Alpha. So get out of my way, Slut” she stated nudging me out of her way. I instantly regain my balance in order not to trip and fall to the ground.

Who was she anyway? What’s her deal? What did she mean see her man the Alpha? The man who bought me has a girlfriend? She definitely doesn’t look like one who is in a gang.

I felt uneasy. I didn’t feel comfortable with her calling that handsome stranger who bought me her man. What was wrong with me? I should be angry? I should hate him for doing something shameful but instead I feel safe to be here.

“So bossy” I murmured under my breath. I gave up on looking for him and decided to head back to the room i came from. I stopped in my tracks, I didn’t remember the way back either. I began retracing my steps walking backwards.

I bumped into what felt like a wall; I shut my eyes closed praying it wasn’t that tempered lady. I turned around to have a glimpse at whoever it was, I gasped. It was him.

“Umm…I’m sorry, I-I didn’t mean to. I w-was just looking for the way back to the room when I-I couldn’t find you either” I stuttered like a fool.

He seemed irritated but let out a sigh of what sounded like tolerance.

“Why were you looking for me, Mia” he asked. He used my name?

Yeah but why was I looking for him again?

Shit….
