Hi guys! The book has finally come to an end, but Asty and Chaol's story lives on. I got super emotional when I finished the book because I poured all of my love for this. I'm actually planning for another book that still revolves the country of Erana, but this time... their children. Would you love a new series? Let me know! I'll be on Facebook: Sabbiekeku Azure, for more of my book updates!
In a time where Kings ruled the land, existed a place closest to the sky. These mountains soared through the clouds and raindrops became their seas. On the day, the village was called Erana, for it was closer to the rays of the sun.And on the night, the village was called the Goblet of the Night Hallows, where every part of the village was bathed in moonlight, hence the awakening of the creatures in the dark. These creatures crept slowly into the darkness... watching, looking, grinning cunningly into the villager's frail bodies. In each of their homes, a creature watched from their windows. This was an unusual time.Kings were treated less than Counts. The Kings were crowned as mortals. They lead, they judge, they make the decisions. The Counts were awakened as immortals. They watch. They devour. They live for entertainment. And one can destroy a nation. The King of Chesterfawn was the ruler of the continent. He conquered cities and his opponent with the hilt of his mighty sword, forg
"Asthenosthene!"A young girl opened her eyes as the voices of her name grew louder. She slowly listened to the moans of cows and rubbed her tired eyes from the sunlight peeking from her window. Slowly getting up, she stretched her limbs sloppily."Asthenosthene! Wake up!"The young girl gets up, and sighed. "I am awake now, Mother.""Asthenosthene!""I'm awake!" she yelled back and chuckled. "I am coming down now!""Alright, hurry up darling!"The young woman called Asthenosthene stands up and made her way down to the first floor of their cabin. The floor creaked as her small feet make contact with the wooden floorboards."Mother?"A beautiful woman with brown hair looked turned around to Asty's direction and chuckled. "There you are.""I'm sorry, I slept late last night." Asty apologized.
After hearing about her mistress' critical condition, Asty could not contain the uneasiness within herself. A few days ago, she and Lady Rosellia were chatting about the village boys and their favorite quotes.Heart heavy, Asty made her way to Lady Rosellia's mansion. She would through the village's center, and as soon as she stepped within the vicinity, all of the villagers' eyes were fixated on hers. At first, she tried to ignore their judgmental expressions, and no matter how she tried, she could not stop overhearing their conversations about her. She continued to reject their critiques, her eyes straightforwardly looking forward as she averted her gaze from the other women in the proximity.Asty did not want to hear their childish rumors."Look! It's the woodcutter's daughter!""She has bright orange hair, yet everyone in the village has dark hair.""Is she a countess?""A
Asty's response brought a smile to the noble's face. She then remembers the moments of her life. Her family, her dead child, the laughter of the villagers and how she used to collect her favorite flowers. Those memories, rushed into her minds giving her a peace of racing tranquility. Her peaceful expression became the visage of her final moments. She closed her eyes gently and slept forever. Her hands became lifeless. Asty slowly places it down and gets up, wiping the tears away from her face and pretended a brave expression. She looks over to the bedroom's door as the maid entered and hands her over a golden envelope with the stamp of the King's insignia. It was an invitation to the Palace's Ball."Asty," Noelle called.Asty smiled, ignoring Noelle's calling. "I will tell you every wonderful thing that I will see in the Palace, Lady Rosellia."Noelle heaved a sigh as the maids escorted Asty away fr
Mrs. Pickinns hurriedly grabbed a bundle of keys from her wooden office desk, while the two subjects watched her with anxiety in their eyes."Mrs. Pickinns?" Asty gently called out. "Do you want us to help you find the right key-""Hush, child!" one by one, she tries on the different shaped keys on the warehouse doorknob. It was where she had promised that the unfinished samples of outfits were stored.Asty looked down and reached for the envelope. She examined the smooth texture of the paper and confusion was evident in her bright, orange eyes. Her fingers could feel the paper from the inside. But she was scared to open the envelope. She didn't want Lady Rosellia to be upset about her seeing the contents of what she had in store for the Duke. But at the same time, Asty was doubtful whether Lady Rosellia really placed a message inside or not. It would be a disappointment if the Duke opened it and th
It was 5:00 in the afternoon. The sun started to set in the horizons but Asthenosthene and Noelle still did not return to their homes. Instead, they were wearing fancy suits and dresses to attend the King's Ball.Asty had her eyes closed as Mrs. Pickinns arranged her bright, persimmon-colored hair. She neatly placed a few stands of hair in front of her left shoulder. She then carefully reached for the basket. A basket that contained little, fully-bloomed chrysanthemums. She conscientiously tucked the little flowers into her hair. When she was finished, Mrs. Pickinns asked Asthenosthene to open her eyes."There. There, look at yourself."Asthenosthene opened her eyes and found her reflection in a clear mirror. She was wearing a beige, laced dress with ribbons accompanying her neck and arms. The dress went all the way down to her legs. And for the very first time, she wore polished sa
"Both of you look nervous."Asty and Noelle smiled at Mrs. Pickinns."Mrs. Pickinns, I feel like I'm gonna throw up," Noelle confessed. "I don't feel so good."Mrs. Pickinns rolled her eyes. "Noelle, for the love of God, grow up. You are a grown man and yet the thought of a ball scares you."Noelle waved his hands in the air. "But Mrs. Pickinns, I have never been to a Ball!""It's just music and dancing. Once Asthenosthene delivers the envelope to the Duke, we can leave."Asty's eyes were focused outside of the carriage. Her eyes fixated on the nearby trees that darkened their trail. Her lips were pursed in a straight line as she recalled what her mother had told her when she left her."Asthenosthene, you must return no matter what."The thought lingered on her mind.Asty's mother ha
Noelle, Asty, and Mrs. Pickinns descended from their carriage after arriving at the Palace of Chesterfawn. With glimmering eyes, Noelle and Asty obsequiously stared at the Nobles which displayed beautiful and shimmering regalias.Dresses that are handwoven with sequins and beads which glowed in assonance of the lights. Noelle and Asty stared as the Nobles ascend the beautiful golden glass staircase that led to Palace's gates."Asthenos, Noelle," Mrs. Pickinns proposed. "Let us go inside."Noelle and Asthenosthene immediately followed Mrs. Pickinns on to the staircase, leaving the navigator behind. Asty then glanced back and smiled at him, while waving at him goodbye. The navigator's eyes widened after her gesture. He then raised his hand and waved back at her, while smiling sweetly as they fade from his view.Asty returned her gaze to the view in front of her. There
