Chapter 22: Maeve

Alpha Liam told me that he was going to go to my shop and find the scent of the Whitmore brothers. He also told me that he wants me to consider bringing my brother and sister into the pack. He swore that he would protect them. While I want to believe him, I’m hesitant. My experience with the wolves up until now hasn't exactly been good.

One good thing came out of that meeting though. Alpha Liam snarled at Xander for keeping my phone.

“Give it back to her, Alexander. It’s her only connection to her family.”

When we’d gotten back to the packhouse, I’d gone to the spell room, as Xander calls it, and he’d gone to get my phone. As soon as I was done with the spell, I raced to my room and called Meadow. They had just arrived in Montana.

“Oh, Maeve, it’s gorgeous here. You definitely should join us when you can.”

“How are you feeling today? Better?”

“Yes, much. I’m sure it was all my imagination.”

“Well, don’t become complacent. Stay alert, just in case.”
