Chapter 1: Cinderella

An eyebrow like a caterpillar, check.

Big eyeglasses, check.

Pimples with some acne, check.

Big nose, check.

Broken tooth, check.

Super messy-messy hair, check.

Before getting out of the car, I looked again at myself in the small mirror I was carrying.

“Is this me?” I asked myself as I checked my appearance.

“Yes, Ma’am. You are that. If I were you, I would have come down so that you would not be late on your first day.”

I was blown away by what Mr Driver said. I think because of my looks, other students will make fun of me or maybe will not be friends with me for how I look.

I hid my little mirror in my bag. I grabbed my bag and got out of the car.

When I left in the car, I went straight to the campus. When I enter, I walk around campus first. This campus is very big, especially that open field, which can be visited during lunch break and break time. There is also a mini garden where you can also eat there. In the cafeteria, there is a separate hot dish shop and pure junk foods. I have also seen mini playgrounds.

When I finished my short tour alone, I had already looked at my class schedule. I’m in my last year of high school.

“Hmmm, I’ve been through this classroom earlier,” I said to myself as I looked at my printed schedule and walked away.

I was blown away when I saw my other subject. There is a lot of math. I’m not good at math.

“Oh My! Ouch!” I shout a little, when I hit a wall, no. Not a wall I hit, but a man.

“You already have four eyes but you are not able to see properly.” The one who hit me said after that, he passed me.

My jaw dropped at what he said. Very antipathetic-arrogant creature human. He’s the one who hit me and I am the one blaming me for hitting him?

I stood up quickly. I confronted him. I took one of my black shoes before he could get away, I threw my shoes at him. Bullseye to his head.

“What the–” the antipathetic-arrogant man said.

The man picked up the shoes I had thrown at him, then he looked around until his gaze landed on me.

“You–” He pointed at me with my black shoes. “Why did you throw me these stinky shoes?”

“Are you still surprised? You’re so antipathetic! Very arrogant! You are such an ungentle man! You’re the one who hit me, and yet you have the guts to blasphemer me?”

“Which of the following isn’t true? You’re already wearing big eyeglasses and you still can not see properly? Tch.”

“If you can see properly and not blind, why should you not be the one to stay away?!”

“Why would I adjust for you?”

This man is so annoying.

“You’re annoying!” I shout. I have nothing more to say about his bad temper.

“I’m annoying, huh?”

“Hey! Hey! What are you going to do with my shoes?! Hey!” I shouted when he picked it up and jumped.

I ran towards him but before I could even get close to him. He threw it away from my shoes

“Good luck finding your shoes, Cinder–no. You are not my Cinderella.”

“I don’t want you to be my Prince Charming either! You’re antipathetic-arrogant!” I shouted at him.

I ran to where he threw my shoes.

That man is annoying! Even though he is handsome, I would not want to be his Princess.

Some students I pass look at me, others even laugh at me. It was the fault of that antipathetic man. He is annoying.

Even if I wanted to ask if any of them had seen my shoes, I couldn’t because of embarrassment.

I searched for my shoes in every trash can, grass, cluster of flowers, even on the benches where someone was sitting. I looked down.

“Get ready yourself, antipathetic man, when I see you again.” I was annoyed with my tongue and then threw the lid off the trash can.

In the morning I smell a stink,  because of that antipathetic man!

“Zennie?”

I noticed on the other side another trash can open. Maybe that’s where my shoe was shot.

“I wish my shoes were already there,” I whispered to myself.

Before I could even get close to the other trash can, someone grabbed my shoulder.

“Zennie?”

Am I the one calling me that name? This man behind me who is holding my shoulder?

“Zennie?”

It looks like this man is

I turned to the man. When I confronted the man, apart from the good looks he had, my attention caught the human size blue teddy bear he was holding.

“I’m sorry ... I thought,”

I saw a face of disappointment to see my face, not the one he called Zennie.

“I thought... It’s like Cinderella.”

What’s up with Cinderella? Why does such an apathetic man seem like a very big deal to her, Cinderella? Is that their favourite Disney story? Or, is there another meaning?

“This…”

I looked at one of his hands holding a pair of my shoes.

“Is this yours?” He asked.

My eyes trembled when I finally saw a pair of my flat black shoes.

“Yes. That’s mine!” I’m glad to say.

Finally, I found my shoes as well.

“Can you back my shoes…s” I was stunned.

Before I could even ask for my shoes from him, I was surprised, when he suddenly knelt on one knee, then touched my foot, and put my shoes on me.

When he had finished what he had done, he stood up then left without saying goodbye to me. As for me, the gaze follows him as he walks away.

In the Cinderella story. Cinderella suddenly left without letting Prince Charming know, didn’t she? But, in my situation, my Prince charming suddenly left without me even knowing his name.

...

...

...

...

...

“Just one step. Finally!” I happily said as I climbed to the third floor of this building.

I daydreamed so much about the man who wore my shoes earlier. so I didn’t realize that I was late for my first subject.

Now, I smell like garbage and also smell a stinky sweat now. What a great first day!

When I was facing the opposite side of the classroom, I knocked first before opening the door. They all looked at me.

“Good morning, Ma’am!” I greeted the teacher first.

“Oh? Are you the transferee?”

“Yes, ma’am.” I gasped in response. Until now  I still catch my breath because of my running.

“All right. Come inside.”

When I entered, all of a sudden, my classmates, especially the girls, started whispering loudly.

“What’s that smell?”

“It stinks so much!”

“Yuck!”

You are all fragrant. Tch.

“You will sit next to Brena Quin Baesa, At the second end row.”

Smiling a woman raised her hand. I smiled. My seatmate looks nice.

I approached Brena there. When I sat next to her, she smiled at me and then introduced herself to me.

“I’m Brena Quin Baesa, but just call me Brena. I don’t want anyone to call me by my second name.”

“Hey, same. I also don’t want to be called by my second name. By the way, I’m Dia—Patrice, Patrice Mauricio. Just call me Patrice or Pat, short for my name.”

“Of course. But, where is your second name there?” Brena innocently asked me.

“Second… Second name? Did I say I have a second name?”

“Yes. You just said that, and you don’t want to be called by your second name.”

“I mean, I also want to have a second name, then I don’t want to be called by my second name.”

Brena seemed weird to me but soon we suddenly laughed softly at Brena.

It looks like Brena and I will get along.

Brena, as well as all my classmates, looked on as I fanned myself with my hand. To my curiosity, I also looked at what they were looking at in front of me.

I still feel the heat because I was running and looking for my shoes earlier.

I was a little scornful when I saw the Antipathetic man collide with me earlier and then throw where my shoes were. But, that did not go on but I smiled when I saw next to him, the man who saw my shoes worn on my feet.

My Prince Charming. He’s here, does that mean he’s my classmate?

“Mr Alex Shin and Mr John Andrew Cabrera, why are you two are just now? You’re both late by almost fifteen minutes.”

Omg! Omg! Is my hearing correct? One of them I’m looking for? Who among them is the one I am looking for?
