FAZER LOGINKaida Pov
“What do you want, Audrey?” I swirled to address the person behind me. Who else would it be if it's not the one true love of my husband—Audrey Stanley? She stood in front of me proudly as if she had won, or maybe she had. Her eyes that glared at me contained the usual mockery which I had gotten used to. Audrey was beautiful, and this is something I can't deny. She has this gentle and pitiful appearance that all men fall for, including Ken. I had always felt guilty whenever I remembered that I had ruined the relationship between Ken and his lover and for years, I silently blamed myself but that was until I met Audrey and realised she was not as gentle as she presented herself. “What do I want?” she asked sweetly, though her tone carried thorns. “I just want to know why you keep forcing things. You and I both know Ken doesn’t love you. He’s only with you because his father forced him.” She stepped closer. I didn’t move. Then she leaned near my ear. “Even if you fake your bastard son’s illness, he will never love you.” My fingers curled tightly. “What did you just call my child?” I asked quietly. Audrey lifted a brow. “Isn’t that what he is? The son of a home wrecker.” Her words went straight to my brain. My mind exploded and without thinking, I raised my hand, but— Leo… My lips trembled as I remembered what today meant for Leo. “Calm down, Kaida. Just endure it.. For Leo.” I muttered. I lowered my hand slowly. “You can think whatever you want,” I said calmly. “But don’t call Leo a bastard. He is innocent. Ken and I are fated mates. Whether he admits it or not, that truth remains. Leo was born while I was married to him.” Her jaw tightened. Before she could reply, a sharp cry cut through the air. She froze. “Samantha?!” she screamed and ran. My heart dropped. “Darn it! Where is Leo?” Without waiting, I rushed after her. A small crowd had gathered. Samantha sat on the ground crying, her princess gown dusty. A boy stood in front of her, pale. My face turned blue as I recognised who it was—Leo. I ran towards him immediately and pulled him to my side. “Baby, what's going on? Are you hurt anywhere?” I asked nervously as I checked his body. “Mama, she—” “Kaida! How could your son push Samantha?” Audrey’s voice pierced through. “Does he hate her that much?” I pulled Leo into my arms and hugged him tightly, then turned to Audrey who raged as she hugged her daughter who wouldn't stop crying. Though I didn't know what had happened, I wouldn't let anyone blame my son that way. “We don’t even know what happened,” I said firmly. “What?! Samantha said he pushed her!” Audrey cried. My lips tightened but before I could respond— “What is going on here?!” The air shifted instantly. Leo’s body stiffened against mine so I had to pat his back to calm him down as his body had begun to tremble. I pursed my lips as I watched Ken walk closer to us, but before I could say anything, Audrey rushed into his arms, holding Samantha tightly. “Alpha, please can you check on Samantha? She was pushed.” Ken’s gaze fell on the bruise on Samantha’s leg. His jaw tightened. “Who did this?” “Daddy… Leo pushed me,” I heard Samantha sobbed. I felt all eyes focused on us immediately. I swallowed nervously, but stared straight at Ken. “Leo wouldn't do that,” I said. “You know he has always been obedient.” But, has Ken ever listened to me? The answer was obvious. He didn't even look at me, instead, he stared straight at the trembling Leo in my arms, and before I could stop him, he had pulled him away from me and dropped him in the middle of the crowd. My eyes widened in shock as I looked at my son who stood like he was about to be interrogated. I watched nervously as Ken bent in front of him. “Leo, why did you push Samantha to the ground?” his cold voice asked. My fingers curled tightly as all eyes focused on my son. Leo shook his head quickly. “I didn’t.” “Liar!” Samantha cried. Leo looked at his father, eyes wide. “Papa… I didn’t. Samantha lies. She called me a bastard. Papa…” His voice broke. “That’s not true!” Audrey snapped. “Papa… believe Leo. I didn’t.” Tears slid down his face, but he didn’t look away from Ken. My heart tightened as I watched him. I turned to Ken and watched as his brows furrowed. I held my breath as I waited. “Apologise to Samantha.” The whole place was silent, and even my brain experienced shock. Leo and I stared at Ken in disbelief. “How could he— he… he didn't even listen to the explanation Leo gave.” My heart shook and without wanting to endure this, I rushed forward immediately. “How could you be so biased?! Didn't you hear him?! She called our son a bastard!” I cried out. I could already hear the heartbreaking whimpers of Leo. Ken gave me an indifferent glare, then focused on Leo again. “Leo.” He called, “Apologise right now!” I turned to look at my son with so much distress. He stood there stubbornly, fist clenched tightly to his side. He didn't look at anyone and only his trembling body showed his reaction. I saw the pearls of tears that fell from his eyes, and as I watched his lips tremble stubbornly, my heart broke into pieces. “Leo!” Ken snapped and my heart couldn't help but jump in fear. Leo couldn't be triggered! Finally, I couldn't help it. I pulled Leo into my arms and glared at every one of them. “Enough!” I yelled. “He hasn't done anything wrong so why should he apologise?! You should be the one apologising to him!” I shouted then focused on Ken. “Did you forget what you promised?! Is this the way you show him fatherly love?! How could you be biased?!” “Kaida!” He roared but I didn't back down but glared back. Ken suddenly sneered, “You asked me to spend time with him as he was sick. But can a sick child have the strength to push another?” My eyes widened in disbelief as I stared at the man in front of me. “Is this the way you trained him? To be disobedient and he wouldn't apologise when he does wrong. He had pushed Samantha to the ground and injured her and he wouldn't admit to his wrongdoing. Is this supposed to be the upbringing of the son of a pack Alpha?!” I felt Leo’s body tremble on mine and my eyes stung until my tears fell uncontrollably. “He is just like you.” My heart thumped as I stared at the person in front of me. “Until you have learned to apologise, you should think about what you did wrong.” And with these words, Ken carried Samantha carefully, and Audrey walked beside him. No one looked back at us. “Mama… Leo really didn’t mean to push her.” I snapped back to my senses and looked down. Leo’s face was pale. Tears covered his cheeks. “I believe you,” I whispered, wiping his face. “Mama believes you.” “But Papa didn’t…” His voice trembled. “I didn’t do it, Mama.” I held him tightly. “I know,” I murmured, stroking his back. “Just breathe, Leo. Breathe.” He clutched my clothes. “Leo is not a bastard… but why does Papa not want Leo?” My heart broke into many pieces but my arms tightened around him. LKaida PovA week passed in a flash, but nothing seemed to change except that I got busier and my movements became faster the more I trained. The sounds of punches and loud orders filled the training hall.“Are you being lazy again?! Focus and find his weakness!”I panted heavily but didn’t dare lose focus. The moment I heard Jude’s voice, I gritted my teeth and watched the movements of Benson, who I was fighting with.It had been this way for the past four days.I battled with Benson while Jude watched and corrected my movements from behind. His instructions always came with jabs and biting insults, but I had learned to ignore what I didn’t like and take only what mattered.Just like now.“We are werewolves, Kaida, not snails! Be active! Did you see his armpit? That’s a weakness—target it!”My eyes lit up at his words, and before Benson could react, I threw a punch toward the spot.“Urgh!”Benson groaned and grabbed his armpit, glaring at me, but my blood pumped even faster.I didn’t
Kaida PovA figure flashed in front of me and when I raised my head in shock, I saw a familiar figure holding the hand that was about to land on me.Benson.The air stiffened.I gaped at him in shock. I couldn’t believe he would be the one to block the slap.Just like me, Michelle and her crew were also stunned. They stared at Benson like they couldn’t believe someone had dared to stop her.The silence was soon broken as Benson flung Michelle’s hand away. It caught her off guard. She staggered slightly, then glared at him in disbelief, her face twisting in agitation.“What are you doing?” she gritted. “How dare you stop me? Have you forgotten who I am, Benson?!”I snapped back to my senses at her voice. My heart sank as I looked at his back shielding me.Would he get into trouble…?Benson’s sneer came out cold. He stepped forward slightly, blocking me properly, then stared down at Michelle. For the first time, I saw a completely different aura around him.The Benson in front of me was
Kaida Pov The remaining walk around the food stalls was done in silence, but I didn’t really notice.I ate the popcorn in my hand absentmindedly while following behind Benson, who led the way. Though my mind was elsewhere, I still noticed their sneaky glances, especially Benson who kept looking back every minute. Finally, I couldn’t stand it anymore. I paused, let out a soft sigh, then turned to Hannah.“Can you both stop sneaking glances at me?” My lips twitched slightly. “Besides, why the silence?”Hannah and Benson exchanged glances, then Benson let out a chuckle.I frowned at them.Benson coughed and shrugged. “Well, isn’t it because you’ve been acting strange after that incident?”I looked down.“That’s true, Kaida,” Hannah added, her voice softer. “You’ve been moody ever since you scolded that man.”I turned to her and met her eyes. My heart trembled slightly. I wanted to say something, but when I opened my mouth, nothing came out.Hannah frowned, her gaze deepening. “This is u
Kaida PovBoth Hannah and Benson called out to me, but I didn’t listen. All I could see was the family of three in front of me, especially the crying child.I rushed forward with a speed I didn’t even know I had, and when I was just three steps away, the couple noticed me and snapped their heads toward me, their faces filled with shock and confusion.I didn’t pay attention to them. Instead, I bent down, pulled the little girl into my arms, and hugged her tightly. The whole place fell silent, and even the little girl in my arms paused for a second.I rocked her gently, patting her back. “Hey, cutie… don’t cry, okay?”My voice broke the silence, and everyone seemed to regain their senses. The couple’s expressions changed instantly. Panic flashed across their faces as they rushed toward me.“Who are you?! Darn it—drop my daughter!”The father yelled, but I didn’t look at him. My gaze stayed on the woman behind him.Her terrified face… it struck something deep in me. My heart thumped, but
Kaida PovI was pushed into the washroom without getting the answer I wanted, but I knew even if I asked a million times, Hannah still wouldn’t tell me.I sighed and stood in front of the mirror to brush my teeth. But suddenly, I paused. The memories of yesterday came rushing back. My chest tightened at first as I remembered the pain, the fall, losing Nat again… then slowly, it eased, and a soft smile appeared on my lips as Kabir’s wolf form flashed in my mind.My fingers lifted unconsciously to my forehead. It felt like the warmth was still there.I stared at myself in the mirror, my heart beating faster than normal, something unfamiliar flickering in my chest. My brows slowly pulled together. What… was that?My eyes widened suddenly and I choked on the toothpaste.I coughed, spat it out quickly, and rinsed my mouth, my breathing uneven as I stared at my reflection.Love…?How is that even possible? And why does it feel so dangerous…?“Kaida, are you done?!”I snapped out of it, roll
(Hello, Readers. Chapter 94 has been edited into the correct chapter. If you may, I really hope you can read it to understand better though some of the content is still the same. Turns out what I uploaded yesterday was the unedited version and very long and boring. I’m really sorry if you felt bored.) Chapter 95: Kaida PovI lowered my head nervously when I saw him coming closer. My heart thumped heavily, but I didn’t move. Instead, I sat still, my fingers clenching my clothes tightly as I waited. What happened next wasn’t what I expected. My breath hitched as the large wolf lowered his head onto my body. He rubbed his chest lightly against my belly and let out soft purrs that sent small shivers through me.I stiffened at first, but the ticklish feeling soon made me relax. My face flushed red, and I couldn’t help but chuckle as I wrapped my arms around his head, hugging the large, fluffy wolf.Warmth spread through my chest.I didn’t know when the cold around us stopped mattering.A
Kaida Pov“What?! You’re leaving?!”I jolted at his loud voice. Why does he look surprised? Is it strange that I want to leave?“What do you mean you’ll be leaving? Does Alpha Kabir know about this?”My brows furrowed. I shifted awkwardly.“Hm… Yes. He should know,” I struggled for a second, then a
Kaida PovI watched the door close in a daze.My mind was blank, but somehow, the trembling stopped.I knew that for Benson to be chosen as Kabir’s Beta, he must be trusted. And the thought that he was asked to stand in front of my door to guard my room made my heart melt.I kept my vigilance up ev
Kaida Pov“What’s going on here?!”The voice was low but powerful. It resounded in the room and pulled me out of my daze.I removed my head from the arms of the stranger who held me, then slowly turned and squinted my puffy eyes to look at the person who had spoken. My heart skipped when I recogniz
Kaida Pov “Mama… You have to take care of yourself, okay?” “Be strong, mama. Leo is fine here.” Tears dropped down my face as I watched Leo smile and giggle as he talked to me. I didn’t know where this was. I didn’t even know how I got here. But all I knew was that since I got here, my heart no
