I collapsed on my oddly medicine-smelling-bed, brought my other arm over to cover my eyes and let out a deep sigh. Oh goodness, gracious. Doing those hospital stuffs 一 check-ups, therapies and etc. Is so damn tiring. I'm so tired of doing it all, over and over again.

I'll wake up every morning seeing myself inside this four-sided-chemical-and-alcohol-smelling-room. I'll wash, eat those healthy but at the same time ill-tasting canteen foods, change into my everlasting hospital clothes, attends to check-ups every time I have one on my schedule, take my shit-tasting meds, hide like a darn thief while using my laptop just to do a movie marathon and when caught, I'll be put to sleep or banned, eat again and then go back to sleep.

That's my routine.

Within my 19 years of stay here in the hospital, that's the things I am used to doing. It sounds boring, right?

And I hate to admit but, this hospital where I am staying? This serves as my home. This dull-white-walled room? This served as my prison.

"Sweetie, don't forget the things your doctor told you a while ago. Ta一"

"Take your meds from time to time. Your nasal cannula, you should always wear that, especially if you're having a hard time breathing. Same as your nebulizer, you should bring at least one in case of emergency. About the mask, you don't have to wear it when you're inside the room. But if you'll like to stroll around the hospital, that's one of the things you need to bring." I waved my hand in the air after I cut off and eventually resumed what she was supposed to say. Her jaw dropped in an instant which made me grin.

"Yeah, Nurse Christine. I already know what you're going to say. I have it memorized and stored inside my sickly brain right here. You don't have to worry anymore." I added while pointing at my temples. That's true. I remembered all the instructions from her and my doctor. I know those things very well. Even if I have to do it in order.

And guess what, If there's just a recitation here? Surely. I could get a perfect score. How could I not? I hear those words almost every day from their mouths.

"Oh, really? That's... that's good." She gives me a slight nod and a weird look before proceeding on putting back the hospital serum on the dorsum of my hand. It was removed earlier because of my stubbornness.

"There you go. I fixed this already, aight? Don't just remove it when you feel that you wanted to. It'll be going to bleeding again. That will sting even more." She threatened. I secretly smirk in my thoughts. Does she really think I'm scared of that? That's a big NO-NO. Even if I remove my serum a few more times, I don't care anymore. Even if it bleeds, I'm just going to ignore it.

I learned to endure the pain it brings to me, anyway. I'm numb already.

I simply let out a nod to her 'cause she still seems to be waiting for my answer. I stretched out my hands to test if the placement of the hospital serum is comfortable for me. And unfortunately, it wasn't. It's always been like that.

I just sighed for maybe a hundred times today. I pulled the blanket and used it to cover the parts of my face up to the bottom of my eyes. "Hey. Hurry up, Nurse Christine. Leave me already. Bye."

"Hah! You punk! Are you seriously sho-ing your beautiful nurse away?" She dramatically shrieked while raising her eyebrows up to heaven.

Without hesitation, I smiled at her teasingly. "Yup."

She frowned and hurriedly dropped off the medications that I was supposed to take tonight on my bedside table. She pulled her tray cart and headed straight out of the room. When I heard the clicking sound of the door, I released a heartfelt chuckle.

"Hey, I can still hear you! Don't laugh at me! You ungrateful and bad patient! Starting from now, won't greet each other anymore! "She shouted outside which made me grin even more. Seriously? We won't greet each other anymore? Haha. How childish.

That afternoon, I took a nap while a wide smile is plastered on my face. I thought heaven would let me rest for a while and wouldn't give me any extra problems. But, yeah. Obviously, that didn't happen.

"Sea"

There was a small gap in the door, and there Nurse Christine inserted her head.

"Oh, shall we say hello, now?" I playfully asked while still not losing my teasing wide grins.

"Ahm, actually, Sea…"

In just a snap second, those mischievous smiles of mine completely vanished. I immediately sat on the bed when I noticed the strange expression on her face.

"I-is there any problem with my condition, Nurse Christine?"

She shook her head and wave her hands simultaneously, "No. Not at all. I just have to remind you something."

"Yeah? What is it?"

She weirdly glances outside the door, also pointing her index finger in there. "No matter what happens, don't come near to the opposite room. Intiendes?"

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What? Why?"

"Don't ask. Just do it, 'aight?"

I scratched my brows 一 an action I always do if I'm bothered or curious. "What are you saying, Nurse Christine? Why would I even go there? Who 一 I mean, what am I supposed to do there? Sweep the dust and clean the hospital apparatuses? Come on, there's no way I will step my feet in there 'cause I might even see a ghost since there's no one is occupying that room. Yikes."

"Yup. Previously it was. Before, that room used to be empty. But, that's not the situation now, sweetie."

My pupils dilated on the sudden news. "You mean"

"Yeah. There's already an admitted patient in there today and" She trailed off, doubting if she'll continue to talk.

"And, bad news, Sea. He's a CF patient too."

My lips parted in surprise.

Oh.

That's really… one of a hell bad news.
