CH - 4 [Celesta's POV]

I was awoken by the loud voice, that was loud enough to wake the dead beyond the grave.

"Celesta, Celesta wake up!!"

I furrowed my eyebrows and opened my eyes coming face to face with none other than the human loudspeaker, Jude.

"Finally, you are awake. You know I am trying to wake you up for more than ten minutes now. If I didn't know any better I would have assumed you were dead." Jude said as he got up from his knees and dusted his pants off.

'Being dead would have been far better than waking up and seeing his face' , I thought as I sat up on the seat keeping my feet on the ground.

As I looked out of the window, my eyes caught the sight of a dingy hotel.

'The only thing I could imagine after going inside that place was buying some drugs, hiring a hooker and then getting stabbed in the back. I mean that was the vibe this place gave.'

" Celesta are you planning to come out or what? I am quite tired here " his whines caught my attention. So, I bent down and picked my sneakers from under the car seat.

After that, I exited the car gracefully by which I meant that I tripped out of the car with a Nachos wrapper stuck to my feet.

I would have fallen face-first on the ground if he wouldn't have caught me.

" Why are you so clumsy?!" He asked with an amused expression plastered on his face.

My face caught fire as I hurriedly tried to move away from him only to slip again.

'Dammit, you nachos empty shell.', I cursed as I fell again but he caught me this time faster than before. His reflexes were on point, 'maybe he was not lying when he said he was not human but if that was true where were my reflexes? Taking a relaxing walk on a beach.'

He held me by the waist against his body. My face was against his chest and my hands hanged loosely beside my body.

I looked up slowly and came face to face with him. His blue eyes met mine and his white hair felt softer than the feather, as it grazed against my face. He looked ethereal at the moment.

'If he wasn't as creepy as he was, I would have just kissed him, right now.' I thought. As I continued to stare at him.

My trance was broken by Jude chuckles

"Omg, you should see your face. It's so red you will make a tomato shy with that redness." He laughed as he said that.

I came to my senses and realised what I was thinking about doing and I started to blush even more.

" Omg, you just got even redder, If that was even possible."

I wanted to facepalm myself but I didn't want to fall again. So, without taking any risk I slowly let Jude put me back on my feet and let his release me from his grip after that I removed the cursed wrapper stuck to my feet.

My pride was deeply hurt and I had no idea how to piece it back together.

I just accepted my fate and decided to ignore him. I sat on the edge of the seat and started putting my sneakers back on my feet. While His laughs slowly died down.

When I was finally done putting my sneakers back on. I stood back on my feet gathering my hurt pride only for Jude to shatter it again.

" Wow, you could do that?" I glared at him with annoyance written all over my face but he just smirked at me in return.

" Come on, Jude let's go inside the trash hole you must be tired of all the hard work you did. I am telling you kidnappers are underrated."

He rolled his eyes and replied with a hint of annoyance.

" For the last time, I didn't kidnap you." He lightly pushed me before grabbing the snack bag and closing the door rather loudly.

"And it's not a shit hole, It's the safest place in this country."

Now it was my turn to laugh, the safest place in the whole of America.

" Yes of course, should we expect the president as our next-door neighbour? Do you think I have dressed appropriately I don't want to give a bad impression to the president after all?" As I spoke those words I burst out laughing again.

He glared at me before started making his way towards the dingy entrance. I followed behind him as slowly my laugh died down.

When I looked around us I realised how deserted the area was there was no building in sight and not even a vehicle in view. How this place supposes to be safe is beyond my understanding.

We finally reached the entrance. There was a stained glass door with a dirty sign signalling to push. Jude pushed the door open and entered inside. I hurriedly followed behind him not wanting to touch that thing myself in case the door decided to close by itself.

The reception area was quite small. It was a little dusty but also seemed very cosy at the same time.

The room was filled with the aroma of coffee beans. There was a set of brown lounge chairs in the centre of the room and a coffee table in between them. It looked like a set-up from Friends show. There also hanged an old grandfather clock on the corner of a cream coloured wall which looked like it was not painted for a while.

In the front of the reception area, there was a counter behind which sat an old lady by herself holding her cellphone in her hands. Jude made his way towards the counter when the lady looked up and gave him a warm smile before she shifted her gaze towards me and passed a smile to me. Her smile was so gentle that it melted all my worries away.

I was compelled to smile back at her before Jude broke the silence as he greeted the old lady, " Hello Samantha, how have you been?"

She turned her attention towards him again before she replied in a motherly voice, " Great as always, dear. look at you how much have you grown. No more little kid asking for cookies. "

Jude smiled warmly at Samantha and nodded. As she continued while giving him a cheeky smile." It's been a while since you have visited me. You also brought a beautiful girl with you this time, Now introduce me to your new girlfriend."

Both of our faces caught fire as he hurriedly denied the claims, " No, No she is not. I mean she is not just any girl."

"Of course, Jude she is not just a girl. I mean a girl who made you fall in love can't just be any girl. She is very special." Samantha said with an amused look on her face.

The situation was so awkward that I decided the best course of action was to keep my mouth shut and let Jude handle the situation.

Jude struggled to come with words. When he finally started to speak, " Samantha, she is not my girlfriend. You misread the situation."

Then give her a more serious look and continued, "Samantha, but when I said she is special I meant it. She is just not an ordinary person. She is Her who was forsaken by the orders of none other than all-mighty himself."
