CH - 3 [Celesta's POV]

I sat still trying to comprehend his words. The only conclusion I was able to reach after he revealed that this guy was not stable and he had completely lost his mind.

'He believed that he was not a human but the worse part was that he also believed that I wasn't human.'

I prayed from the high above for my safety, not wanting to be killed by a crazy experiment of his if he decided to prove his theory.

After some time I finally came out of my shock and the best question I could come up with was, "Oh really, So what do you think we are? Vampires or werewolves?"

He started laughing hysterically while clapping his hands like a seal. He reacted like I said something crazy, the hypocrisy of the situation.

He finally calmed down and took the water bottle out of the black polythene and chugged some water before passing it to me.

Then he finally replied with a smirk on his face," Girly, I think you took twilight quite seriously but sorry to break your heart. Those things don't exist. Believe me, I would know."

He then removed the ice pack from my head and then kept it in the holder.

While I took some deep breaths trying to calm my nerves so, I don't end up accidentally, punching him in his face.

I finally spoke while grinding my teeth," I don't believe in them. You are the crazy one who said we are not humans. I was just trying to understand your mind-blowing theory."

Then I proceeded to take some sips from the water bottle before handing it back to him.

While he furrowed his thick eyebrows and defended himself" I am not crazy, we are not humans. It's not theory, It's reality"

I rolled my eyes and looked away.

There was complete silence until he started speaking, "Celesta you are not human. You are not ordinary it was just a disguise to keep you safe. You are very important and I must protect you with my life. That's what I vowed to your father."

The earnestness present in his words forced me to look at him. He looked like he was speaking the truth.

'Should I believe him? but it doesn't make any sense if we are not humans then what are we? It's not like I could escape from him.

I should just play along with him, What is to lose anyway? Plus if he is saying the truth that means he knows about my father. I should ask him more about him.'

But before I could utter even a single word. He started speaking again," I know you have many questions and I will answer each of them but it's not the right time. I have to escort you somewhere safe."

As he patted my head gently and then passed me black polythene and said," In case you are hungry."

I looked inside the big polythene. It was filled with snacks. I was so busy deciding what should I eat first that I didn't notice when he stepped out of the car and got behind the wheel. Until I suddenly pushed back on the seat as the car started moving.

Jude chuckled and commented, " You should be more aware of your surrounding. "

I just shrugged it off and took out a family pack of Dorito in cheese flavour. I opened them carefully and started munching on them, they tasted delicious.

Well at this point I could eat raw onion and call it tasty. I was so hungry. In no time the packet was empty. I threw it under the seat, I was too tired to care about the manners.

Then I took out a sprite can and opened it as it made a fizzing sound. I took some sips of it before taking a loud burp.

Jude spoke without taking his eyes off of the road, "Someone was hungry."

I nodded in agreement even though I knew he could not see me. Then I leaned back a little more on the seat with satisfaction. I took some more sips from the can and asked, " Hey, Jude can you play some music."

He nodded as he took the black Pendrive out of the glove compartment and inserted it into the car stereo.

Then he pushed the play button, and old Indian classical music started to play.

I didn't expect him to play this maybe some 90's music but not this. I moved around in my seat trying to get more comfortable but I couldn't. When Jude cleared his throat and asked, " Is something wrong?"

I answered hesitantly not trying to sound rude," I usually don't listen to classical music."

He looked at me with help of a front-rear view mirror and asked," Why not? They are very melodious and calming. Especially this one, it's my favourite one. You know Sanskrit right?"

I replied," Of course, It was the most important part of my course, as you said in the letters."

He nodded and said," Correct, it's very important for you to learn Sanskrit. As it's the only language in which even if the words jumble in a sentence the meaning remains the same."

I asked in confusion, " But why will words jumble in the first place."

He sighed and answered, "When we are very far away from each other, they get jumbled as signals are weak."

I rolled my eyes and said, "Then just get a better internet connection rather than learning Sanskrit it's a tough language you know."

He chuckled and said," Where we live internet doesn't exist."

His words hit me faster than a bullet train, as I asked in horror" Don't tell me you live in a cave or an underground tunnel."

As soon as I said that he slammed the brakes of the car again and the car came to an instant halt. Then he turned around and gave me an irked look and said, "Of course not, do I look like a guy who lives in a cave? What kind of question is that?"

I opened my mouth to answer but before I could Jude started again," Don't answer, that was a purely rhetorical question. Why don't you just take a nap, I think at this point we both need some rest." He turned around and started driving again.

'Someone was touchy, it was a reasonable question to ask where else the internet wouldn't exist.' I removed my black sneakers and tossed them under the car seat.

Then I laid down comfortably on the car seat, 'but he is not wrong I am quite tired. I closed my eyes and then drowned myself in a peaceful slumber.
