We safely arrived on time at Hotel Williams and when we entered the foyer, their staff were happily greeting the guests.
I was walking behind my parents along with Andrew and my eyes wandered around. I couldn't deny the fact that those beautiful paintings and chandeliers were amazing. The architectural design is truly magnificent; world-class! Chicago really has a lot of luxury hotels to offer. One of the staff led us to the function room because the party is about to start.
At the function, we are welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Williams “Hi Arriane, you look gorgeous,” Charee complimented. Mom thanked her before they hugged each other.
She glanced at me from behind “ Allesandra, Is that you? You’re marvelous!" she smiled widely at me. "If you’re not with your parents, I wouldn't recognize you,” she pulled me closer and kissed my cheek. Still not contented, she whispered, “You’re ravishing!” I smiled and giggled like a schoolgirl.
“I will lead us to our table, the program is about to start” Ricky interrupted and all of us walked through the center.
After few minutes that I was seated, I excused myself to go to the washroom because I felt the urge to pee. "Make it fast," Mom reminded me.
I was washing my hands when I heard two women talking in separate cubicles.
“Did you know that Chadrick has a new girl? She is really beautiful” said the girl one. “I think Chadrick is serious with her. Who knows, she's the lucky bitch the heir would marry this time” the other answered.
As I heard those words, I felt like my stomach was churning and my tears were about to fall but I kept on holding them. I'm afraid for my makeup to get ruined so I composed myself and added more lipstick.
“You are beautiful Alle," I murmured. "You’ve invested too much for him. Have a good fight to get his attention tonight,” I encouraged myself.
I walked out of the washroom with a heavy heart. I was heading back towards our table when I saw Chadrick talking to one of their investors. I checked him out and he looked so handsome in his Armani suit. My mind was in chaos, "God, why is he so gorgeous?" I sighed.
Anyone could really be hypnotized by him - 6 ft tall, perfectly carved jaw, and broadened shoulders. Most of all, he's one of the richest bachelors in Chicago.
He looked my way and he turned twice like something caught his attention. We kept staring at each other intensely – felt like all in slow motion. The bitch inside me was so NERVOUS.
Chadrick excused himself from the person he was talking to. He walked towards my way and in a few, he was standing in front of me. “Wow! I can’t believe my eyes," he shook his head. "You’re beautiful” and smiled like he was awed.
“Hi, Chadrick! Congratulations on the new hotel opening!” I greeted happily. We stood there for a few more seconds just looking at each other like we were out of words. It was the first time we felt like it’s awkward. I'm so happy my effort didn't go to waste because he finds me beautiful with my appearance. He broke the silence and we walked back to our table as the program has started.
I saw Mr. and Mrs. Williams seated across from my Mom and Dad. My brother sat beside mom with an empty chair next to him -which was mine. On the other side, I saw a woman talking to Chadrick’s mom. Is she the new girl of Chadrick?
Chadrick like a gentleman helped me with my seat and moved across beside the woman. He said Hi and kissed her lips. Ouch! It hurts like I’ve been stabbed by a knife so sharp and deep.
“Alle, this is Vanessa Albert, my girlfriend. She’s from Albert’s Group” he introduced.
“Nice to finally meet you Allesandra, You are beautiful,” she smiled. “Nice to meet you too Vanessa," we shook hands but I felt like it was hard to breathe because of jealousy.
“Chad has said a lot about you. I bet you two are close” she added. "Yes, we are super close like nothing can break us apart. We have each other since my diaper days”. I wasn't aware of the words that came out of my mouth.
I heard both our parents’ chuckled while my annoying brother whispered “Alle, that was hilarious! You talked like an idiot,” he scoffed. I looked at him and thought, “That was embarrassing. Help me, God!
It was dinner time and our food looks really delicious. Sadly, I didn’t have the appetite to enjoy the meal as my heart was hurt seeing Chadrick with her in front of me. I tightly held my tears to not flow and ruin my mascara. What an eventful night for me!
Though I didn't have the appetite, still, I tasted my food just for them not to notice. I kept my head down and focused on my plate because my irritation was killing me. I avoided looking at her as I didn't want to get caught like a jealous bitch.
Busy with their discussion, I checked her out. She's beautiful with long eyelashes, confident and sophisticated - I couldn't deny those. My eyes wandered on her chest and yeah, she got bigger boobies than me. "Does Chadrick prefer girls with big melons this time?" Andrew was right, I needed to grow my twins in order to compete with her.
I wasn't listening to their topics because I didn't have an interest. I decided to chew my steak like gritting them in annoyance as pain attacked my being.
Suddenly, “Chad honey, how long you and Van dating?” Charee asked. That caught my attention and I was able to lift my head instantly.
“We are seeing each other for about five months now," Instead of Chad, Vanessa answered. “Nice! I guess both of you are taking it seriously” Charee responded with joy.
“Are we hearing wedding bells soon?” Ricky questioned with excitement. “Yes. We talked about it already and we'll finalize it soon," she was fast to reply. "We just need to sort out things with business first,” that was Chadrick supporting her statement.
As I heard those, I accidentally splashed my wine, and shocked was an understatement. “Jeez! Are you alright?” Andrew asked worriedly. He helped me wiped my wet dress immediately.
“Yeah, I’m good, sorry it was an accident” my panicked reply. Whoa! That was too much and I couldn't bear it anymore. With that, I sat up and said,
“Everyone, please excuse me, I guess I need to leave you first," I delivered in a polite manner."My wet dress is making me uncomfortable," I reasoned. "Please enjoy the rest of the party,"
We were on our way to my parent's house to fetch our three years old daughter Alana. She was with Mom and Dad because Chadrick and I attended an event the whole afternoon. No one could babysit her because our helper went to his family for a special occasion. When I stepped inside the house, I saw my daughter running to us happily. Chadrick carried and hugged her tightly because he missed her so much. When we were at the function, he wanted to go home early just to be with his daughter. "I missed you, my princess! Let's get home," I told her but she shook her head. "Grandy!!" he called for her grandfather to get her from us right away. Chadrick and I looked at each other confused about what was happening to her. "Princess, it's getting late c'mon say goodbye to Granny and Grandy," that was Chadrick persuading her. She held onto Dad's neck tightly with her head on the nook of his shoulder. "I want to stay with Grandy," she murmured audibly. I was surprised abou
I was sitting on the couch watching a drama movie - as always because it's my favorite genre when I felt something wet and weird. Chadrick!!! I called my husband when I saw liquid dripping down my legs. He rushed to me and asked if something's wrong. I told him that my water broke and we need to go to the hospital. I could feel the contractions and pain and surely, it was time. He carried me bridal style to the car since the bag we prepared for my delivery was already placed in the compartment. "Are you okay?" he asked when we are in the delivery room because he saw me enduring an excruciating amount of pain. I was lying on the delivery bed sweating hard and wincing in pain with my face tear-stricken. Chad held my hand and planted a kiss on my temple. "Baby, I'm just here, we can do it," he whispered with encouragement. Doctor Howard instructed me to endure one long push and I took a deep breath before doing it. I held my husband's hand and my grip tightened
Six months passed our wedding and we were so busy doing our own thing. I managed to start my own flower shop business and hired a quite number of people. Chadrick has a lot on his plate because of his new projects but he never made it an excuse to not give me attention every day. Indeed, he learned his lesson before and I felt so happy about it. I was sitting on our bed with my head leaning on the headboard while watching a romantic drama movie. I could say that I'm enjoying crunching a bowl of popcorn. The bathroom door was pushed open and Chardrick got out in his towel after a quick shower. Surprisingly, I cried and he came closer in panic. "Baby, what's wrong?" he asked worriedly. I sniffed "The man in the movie cheated on his wife. Why do men cheat?" I was upset looking at him. He hissed "Baby, it's just a movie. Not all men are cheaters," he consoled and caressed my shoulder. "You men always say that but you're all liars," he stunned at my reaction. "You should
I felt so nervous standing in front of the church to walk down the aisle. When the door was pushed open, I started to move forward slowly. Mom and Dad were waiting in the middle for me to reach them and to escort me through the altar. All eyes were on me in my mermaid wedding dress which extremely fitted in my slender figure. The moment I stopped in front of my parents “I can’t believe my baby is getting married,” that was Dad. He was really emotional since the beginning of the day, unlike Mom who couldn't hold her grin in full excitement. When we were nearing the altar, I could see my entourage in full smiles and giggles. When I looked at Chadrick, his lips were trembling and his eyes brimming in tears. He was an undeniably handsome and charming groom in his three-piece suit. In front of him, Dad tapped his shoulder “It’s awkward that from now on, you’ll call your business partner, Dad,” he chuckled while Mom laughed beside me. The priest commenced t
She looked at me like she was hesitant to tell so I brushed it away and changed the topic. "So, how long are you working in the company?" out of my curiosity. "I was employed three weeks ago," she disclosed. I realized that was why she got scolding because she's crawling and not that expert yet. "Anyways, It's so nice to meet you, Faith," I pressed her hand softly "I guess we could be friends from now on," I smiled but she stilled. "I'll be visiting the office often and I'll see you around," I bid goodbye because I knew Chad is waiting for me. When I got back, I saw Chadrick standing beside my table. I smiled at him and asked if he's waiting for too long. He only replied for me to take my time. I picked up my bag for us to go but not before making sure the stuff of Helen was back in proper place neat and clean. Chadrick and I were walking out of the office with his hands at the back of my waist. I sighted some employees smiling at us and some were wishing a g
No one was able to answer him and they just bowed their heads. “What’s the problem here?” I know he sensed that something’s odd so he introduced me to them. “Everyone, this is Allesandra Taylor, my fiancée," he held my hand "she’s the daughter of Alex Taylor our business partner," he informed calmly. "I just want to let you know that we are getting married soon so you might see her often in this office," he added. All the people in the room were surprised to know me. The woman who was furious a while ago stared at me unable to form a word in disbelief. I saw her face was burning in embarrassment. I was hoping she learned her lesson to not judge people easily and be a good leader to her people. “Baby, you’re just here," he pulled me out of that room. "I thought something happened to you because you're not answering your phone,” he sounded worried. "Sorry I left my phone on my table" I apologized briefly. When we got back to his office, he tugged me to the couc
