Saved By The Enemy

EPISODE 3:

The room was very chilled and cold unlike how it was supposed to be or rather unlike what Danica was supposed to feel. It was a different temperature from what she was used to and it made her curl and curve like a bow on the soft luxurious bed, wanting some sort of comfort or warmth. But no matter how she curled herself, it still did not help the cold that was penetrating through her skin and into her bones. It was so bad, it penetrated her unconscious, pushing her to get back to the conscious world. However, she did not want that. Lying down on that very soft bed eased her bones and made it harder to wake up. It was very soft underneath her and it pulled her deeper into her deep slumber as it helped her resist the cold that pushed her to open her eyes.

The cold didn’t seem to let up and her mind could no longer resist the very cold feeling that was beginning to ache her bones. She pulled over the duvet that was on her and pulled it tighter to her body as she clutched onto it, whimpering at how cold she was beginning to get. The scent of the duvet as well as the very room was enough to push her back to sleep if the cold was not so terrible. Pushing away the foreign scent and resisting the softness of the bed, she slowly opened her eyes.

Light invaded her vision at the very first glance that she had to shut them back. Seconds later, she opened them again and squinted her eyes till it completely adjusted to a very bright room. The walls were white and so were the curtains that first came to her line of view. With a groan, she forced her body to move as she turned and laid on her back. Her eyes fell against the ceiling above that was also in white. She frowned instantly, wondering where she was and why it was so white.

Then it all came together and the memories of the last event that happened came back to her in floods. She blacked out after meeting that mysterious man, that was all she knew and now, she was in a very strange room. With panic, she jerked up from the bed, resisting the cold that was trying to hold her back. Her eyes roamed the room frantically as her heart began to race inside her chest when her gaze fell on him. Standing at the far corner of the room, with his eyes intently on her, and his back against the wall, he looked like a mysterious assassin ready to take her life at a first glance.

Her heart skipped and she jumped up from the bed and instantly ran to the other end of the room, fearing the man who suddenly appeared from no where.

A smug smile appeared on his lips, revealing white and straight teeth that were even and exceptionally attractive. With his back placed against the wall and his hands crossed over his chest, he looked like the very lord of the house when one look closer and that was the exact energy he gave out. Blessed with an exceptional look, he exuded so much confidence, authority and strength just by standing there and saying absolutely nothing. His eyes were fixed on the damsel who looked confused and scared by his very presence and he found it amusing, especially since he had been the one to save her.

Danica’s panic did not ease up the very least, neither did his smug smile help. His look was intimidating and that look only made it seem that he was the lord of wickedness ready to descend on the poor unprotected maiden who found herself in the same space as him. She remained at the extreme end as she narrowed her gaze at him, accusing him of doing something wrong while lots of red flags ran in her head, asking her to run as far as she could.

“You shouldn’t look at me that way, that’s being ungrateful, senorita” his voice came, breathy, low, dripping with amusement as it cooed with elegance and grace. His tone was fluent, proving that he was not a native of the land as every word came precise and concise, feeling the silent room with a very sexy voice. His words made her feel slightly guilty and for a moment, she stopped looking at him that way and lowered her gaze. The coldness of the room hit her immediately, reminding her of the very thing that made her wake up. She shivered and wrapped her hands around her body in a bid to protect herself.

“Who are you?” she pushed out of her throat, resisting the urge to run back to that bed and cover herself.

“And where am i?” she added

“Your savior,” he responded.

“And my house,” he added still with that smug look on his face. Her eyes widened and anxiety immediately started to grow within.

“How did I get here?”

“You collapse….” He entered and startled at her. Her heart eased up a bit when she learnt that and understood that he might have saved her. But at what cost?

If he noticed the suspicion that returned to her beautiful eyes, he didn’t show. He instead crossed the room over to her while she took note of how good looking and freakishly handsome he was, not to add to his intimidating and powerful aura that surrounded him. He was a man of class and wealth and if the white room that she was in didn’t tell her that, his movement did.

“That’s why you are my savior then?” she asked, wary of him. His brown eyes were fixed on her and so was his slow movement towards her.

“What am I, if not your saviour?” she pushed her back even more into the wall. Her hands dropped to her side and clutched the curtain behind her when the cold persisted.

He only came to a halt when he was in front of her. His sudden closeness invited the scent of Cinnamon and spice with a bit of warmth that she solely needed. It was the familiar scent of the man who had spoken to her when she was at the entrance of the airport and only then did she understand that he might have truly been her savior.

“You had an anxiety attack and looked like you were dead in front of the airport. I saved you from sudden death,” he explained, revealing a whole new look that caught at her heart. However, she frowned, realizing that the man in front of her might be really full of himself.

“Won’t you say thank you?” he lowered his gaze at her, seeing the frown on her face. She forced a smile, and looked up at him.

“Thank you,”

“But what if I want something else in return?” he suddenly asked. Danica’s eyes went wide as her heart skipped a mile. First thing she did was to look around the room, where it turned out that all the interior and décor of it were made of white colour. However, it was a plain space with a bed, a chair and a desk at the side. Not even a wardrobe or a table, neither was there a chandelier. Her eyes quickly skimmed through as she searched for a door, an escape root or something she could use to hit him.

He smiled, his eyes dancing with so much amusement, he was like the tiger and she was a simple antelop, or prey caught between his claws and it was skimming to get away from his hold. He had hated the assignment and work that had been given to him earlier, but on a second thought, he had a feeling that he was going to have a lot of fun. He lowered his height to her level, making sure that his face meets hers and his hands immediately grazed her chin, pulling her to turn back to him. Those blue eyes struck him again and so did the panic and fear that was laced within right before he pulled his hands away from her cold skin. She was cold, he knew that since he had been watching her sleep. He had known that the room was cold, but that was exactly how he liked it. His body like most men tend to have a higher metabolic rate and his more than some which makes his body hot all the time, making him prefer exceptionally cold places that he was used to which she was not, as he could see.

Taken aback by his sudden touch and brown eyes, she pushed herself even deeper into the walls, clutching the curtain tighter well bells of danger rang in her head. He could be a killer, a rapist, a trafficker or something worse. And she was trapped with him. It was something of deep concern and fear.

“What are you thinking?” his breathy voice came and the same amusement shun in his eyes, while his lips twitched.

“what do you want?” she asked, her voice coming out breathlessly as her heart raced within. He gave her no reply yet again and stood to his height, then he moved closer. Her heart raced as it began to pound inside her chest, beating rather loudly when he suddenly moved closer.

“Stop it, please,” she immediately attempted to push him away with both hands that rested against his chest. But he was strong and it was too late since she was already pressed against the wall, and him against her. She shut her eyes, expecting the very worse. His body’s scent clogged her entire senses and the warmth that oozed out of him eased her cold and made her panic even more.

He ignored her fright and lifted his hands from his side, stretching it to the curtain as he pulled it apart, revealing the glass window that was behind it.

“You have a very evil mind, you know,” he whispered and moved away, by a little bit, just to give her breathing space and to stay away from the scent of Lilac that she had. She opened her eyes, feeling nothing happen and paled the very instance she saw the transparent glass. He smiled at her look and she flashed him a glare in return. However, she could not help but turn around to find the beautiful scene of the evening sun setting in as it gave pale tint of orange over the beautiful city that stretched low and wide before her sight. It was so beautiful, it left a peaceful feeling in her heart and left her mesmerized.

“You should spend the night, it’s getting late?” his voice suddenly cooed from behind her breaking the moment. She flinched and whipped her head back to him, hating him with all of her being. He grinned at the bewilderment enjoying the look in her petrified eyes before he took a step back. Taking with him, the warmth of his presence.

“Don’t freak out so much. That was why it was easy for you to get an anxiety attack,” he entered and turned away.

“Come on, I will drop you off at your house.” He turned to the door and pulled it open.

Danica gaped at him, her heart was still summersaulting inside her chest as she finally found the door. yet, she was still very speechless by his very wicked attempt to make her feel so scared.

“Don’t you want to leave anymore? I can cuddle you all night since you are so cold,” he turned back to her when he noticed that she was still not moving. She was slow witted and he could see it. That didn’t bother him as it should, he was really out to have his fun.

In an instance, she was pulled away from her trance and immediately ran towards the door.

“You are such an idiot,” she pushed him aside and stormed out in an unexpected rage
