It has been hours since I seen or heard anyone. Only because of the light that shines in through the window, I can guess that it’s no longer day. Considering it is Summer, I would think it is around midnight. Wiping my tears away I jump back onto the Metal frame to try for another glimpse of outside. Suddenly I can hear some movement outside and a rattling chime of keys that are coming closer. I quickly jump down and sit myself back in the corner where I was before.
The Door is now being unlocked and my three imprisoners are back. The one they call Rowan is at the front with a pair of chains in his hands while the slim tall guy is holding up a light.
“Don’t be stupid now, the Alpha wants to see you. He is in a good mood as he just had a bit of fun and some drinks after he had been to a meeting. So, this might go in your favour.” He makes a step towards me in a bid to put on the chains. My wolf wants me to fight but if I now show them how strong I am they might overwhelm me as I can’t be sure I would be able to take three at once.
Grinding my teeth, I let them take me to Main Pack House. Rowan takes the lead into a big Room and its décor makes it look dark. Lots or dark red and black is used with some assets in gold. A big throne Chair is placed at the end of the room on a small pedestal.
Way to make yourself more important than what you are… jumps through my mind but I need to stay calm now. A Door behind the chair opens and a big husky Man is walking towards the chair, he is quite old with a beer belly and the smell of alcohol makes me want to be sick. I can just about stop myself heaving in disgust. He looks very unkept with long hair that I am sure has not seen a brush in months never mind shampoo. I am sure he must have seen my expression as he came in as he waves us now closer. I really don’t want to get any closer to him at all. Not sure how I am meant to keep a straight face but once again the door opens, and my face softens looking to the side wondering who else will join this summoning. Another Man just walks in and stops for a split second as he looks at me. He is the complete opposite of the Alpha that is sitting in front of us. He is tall not a single strand of his dark hair is out of line and he looks at me with a small smile. His scent is welcoming and sweet, it is that strong it overpowers the alcohol stench from the so-called Alpha. There is some kind of power aura that radiates around him, it fills me with strength and hope.
“Rowan.” He prompts as I stopped walking. A quick nudge with an elbow from behind pushes me forward, much to his amusement. I hiss in response, how dare he push me, no one has ever dared to do this before.
“Feisty. Did she speak yet? Do we know who she is? She has a pack smell on her, but I can’t say I have smelled it before.” The alpha leans forward scanning me.
“Not yet Alpha Faron. She has not spoken a word. We can’t quite tell where she is from, we had no word from the Packs around us either, no one has gone missing. It’s a bit of a mystery where she came from and she left no tracks we could track back.” Rowan answers with a slight tremble in his voice.
“So, child will you speak to me now telling me where you are from?” The Alpha looks at me and I start to feel uneasy as his voice sounds very intimidating. Head held high but my mouth is firmly shut. If they don’t know where I am from, they can’t hurt the ones I love. For Zain it is best he never finds out that I am someone’s prisoner. I am sure the Name Alpha Faron rings a bell too; it just doesn’t quite jump my mind just yet.
My eyes wander to the interesting stranger who to this point hasn’t said a word nor has he been acknowledged. Ever so slightly he nods at me in agreement and it has me puzzled.
“So not willing to talk, no? Rowan you know what to do, she will speak one way or another, I am sure you got your way around it; I want no scars though as she is quite pretty.” Alpha Faron laughs out loud as he waves us away with his hand. He just grabs for another drink. Rowan and his little crew pull me away. The mysterious stranger is stood next to Alpha Faron whispering something as I am pulled out of the door.
Thrown back into the small cottage like they did before but this time they don’t remove the Chains on my hands. The door locks shut behind me. I hear them talk but I can’t quite make out what they are saying as they are walking off.
I am tired but that manky and smelling metal bed is not an option. I lean back in the corner where I sat before. Pulling my knees up and wrapping my arms around them as my head drops onto my knees.
Is this what I had in mind when I ran away? Every day, for years, I have dreamt of being free. This is the opposite. I need to be brave now first chance I get I need to get out of here. My thoughts drift again to the mysterious guy next to the Alpha. Who on earth is he, why did he smile at me and why did he nod at me? The power that was radiating off him, never felt anything like it. I wonder what he was saying to the Alpha when we left too. When the trio was pulling me away from this throne room my legs were feeling like jelly. Just like how I felt when I decided I was going to leave my Pack as if something is draining my energy out of me, I can’t quite describe it.
I listen to the noises of the night… the lullaby to serenade me to sleep.
Roughly awoken by the sound of someone unlocking the Door once again. Resorting to pull myself back together in my corner as I must have rolled over as I fell asleep. It isn’t the most comfortable trying to sleep or even sit with your hands still cuffed together. I listen out for any more noise but currently all I can hear is Birds chirping, light shining on the floor, so it is day again.
The door is being knocked open with the Trio closing the door behind them. Rowan places a simple wooden chair in the middle of the room. He rubs his hands as I watch with a frown.
“So young Lady, I think we really need to start talking now. Simple because if you don’t, I will have to do things we both might regret later.” Rowan takes a step towards me.
“I am sure you might regret things if you touch me!” My wolf cries out in my head.
Rowan and the slightly shorter guy each grab onto one of my arms dragging me to the middle of the room, they open one of the chuffs putting my hands behind my back then making me sit on the chair. Uncomfortable I try moving around a little to make it more bearable as the Tall skinny guy bends down slightly laughing in my face. “You get all giddy, are you? Sorry we aren’t that kind of guys here.” He smirks as he takes a step back.
“Last time I will be asking this Girl, Give us your name.” He now sounds rather annoyed and is speaking very loudly, as if I am deaf. Hey, what if I were deaf or even Mute, surely, they wouldn’t be able to tell just by looking at me. Sh!t, I didn’t see which one of them has got the Keys to the Door.
My heart is racing as the first of Rowan’s hits struck me right into my stomach. It was that hard it took my breath away and involuntarily I start gasping for air. Barely given the time to recover he hits me again. Laughter from his companions spur him on. This time he hits me in the face. My cheek burning from where the struck me.
“Maybe this will get you to talk.” Rowan joins laughing with the other two. I need endurance, I can’t give them my Name, what if they will ask to fight my Family, or even worse, hand me back in exchange for something.
I close my eyes, hoping if I concentrate it might not hurt as much. Meditate, while my wolf heals us.
I don’t know who hits me now but its strong punches in my abdomen and a loud crack is heard, they broke at least one of my ribs. The pain is unbearable, and I start coughing up blood.
“Talk!” Someone is grabbing me and shaking me. “Jon, she is done for now.” Rowan says in a stern voice. “We will leave her a few hours then try again.” He adds. I am placed on the bed and the three leave the cottage. With the last bit of energy, I roll off the bed on the ground, nice and cool to help me heal. Carefully I put my cheek on the cold floor to try numbing the throbbing pain from all the hits I have taken. It is the last thing I remember before it all went black, and I pass out.
Slowly trying to open my eyes, I am barely able to open them, and everything is blurry. I am hurting all over. My hands are not cuffed anymore so someone must have been back to check on me. And these is a water bottle next to me, which I grab to rinse the blood taste out of my mouth spitting it into the bucket with water on the side. Pouring some of the water in my hand to run it over my face. It eases the pain slightly. I should just fight them next time they come in, I will just have to make sure I run faster than they do once I am out, or I need to knock them out enough so they can’t raise the alarm and I am gone before they will know. “You don’t want to do that. Alpha Faron doesn’t take kindly to those running away and fighting his guards.” I hear a voice say through the window. “They beat you up bad, I know but hang in there. I am surprised actually that you haven’t talked yet.” The voice sounds familiar, kind of friendly. What makes me feel uneasy
“Alpha Faron, he… He is my Father.” He sighs loudly and you can tell how his heart is breaking having to say it out loud. “Well, He found me one day, when he had to travel to an Alpha meeting. A Baby left abandoned, so he took me in. I should be thankful for his kindness really. I have to leave now but I will be back, I promise.” Jackson answers in a whisper before disappearing leaving me once again unable to say anything in return.I always thought Zain and I where the only ones with these special abilities. Never even crossed my mind that there had been others. I am certain my mother spoke of Ancient Blood and that it could be the cause for our abilities, but we couldn’t be certain. What if it’s not the reason we are special and there are others out there, special, like us. Hiding.Pacing up and down in my small cell I feel like I am going insane. I need to get out of here, it’s been hours since I last se
Instantly I feel hurt by his action. Does he pretend? Is he not worth it? Why be so nice to me when we are alone to build a wall as soon as He walks into the Room. “So here we are, let’s sit and have some food, I am starving!” Alpha Faron exclaims as he walks closer to me and I feel slightly nauseous from his hideous smell. He looks far from starved, as soon as he sits himself down, he takes a glass that has just been filled with a purple-red drink, I presume it is Wine by the looks of it. Jackson gestures to the Chair then helping me to sit down. He pushes the chair in. A young girl is offering me the same drink as the Alpha’s, but I put my hand on my glass refusing any of that devil’s stuff, grape juice that burns your throat, no thank you. “Julie, please offer her Apple juice.” He nods towards the young girl who hurries to change the Pitcher to the Juice one. “I can’t risk him knowing, how I feel about you.” He looks over to me as he mind links me. H
“You do understand that now you have shown him how strong you are… that he can’t just let you go, right? You made yourself even more interesting for him with how good you fight.” Jackson lets out a sigh. I didn’t think of it in the same way Jackson just said it out loud. I thought I would just show him that I am not pushed around any longer and am standing my ground, prove that I didn’t attack Rowan and his crew. “He is still convinced you gave him a wrong name and that you are trained well, makes him even more suspicious. I don’t care about your Name. I know who you are.” He sits himself next to the fountain with his back leaning against it. I can feel how stressed he feels. “You do?” I ask questioning as I sit myself next to him. “I knew the first time I saw you, over on the other side of the Mountain. I had a feeling and it made me curious. I can’t describe it. It’s as if I knew you was coming. The Food on the top, when you were that exhausted you fell
Why is he around here now, I am sure his pack used to be miles and miles away from us, unless I ran faster and made it further than I thought?“Really Random Jackson but, have you always been living here?” I make it sound like an innocent question, but it baffles me slightly.“No, we are just here to collect the new Pack members. We are actually heading off back Home soon. Well, I am not sure what’s going on at the moment but that was the plan. Rowan, Loren, and Jon had been out looking around the area for anyone who might had been hiding when they came across you climbing down the hill. When I found you up on top of the Mountain, I thought maybe you been part of the pack and I left you food in the hope you would stay away from here till we move on. So, when I walked into the Room when we first met, I was a bit surprised to say the least.” Jackson leans his head against mine on his shoulder.“Promise me something
Maybe this was always what it was supposed to be. When I tried with Zain’s help to look in the future of our own, we could never really see anything. I knew better than to let it drive me crazy as it can always change, we just thought it’s because it was us and we can only see other people’s future. What if we couldn’t see it because we weren’t together anymore.“Hey… have you fallen asleep? Let’s go.” Jackson beckons with his hand as he jumped up from the bed. Slightly overwhelmed by the sudden change it takes me a moment to realise what is happening. He notices how undecided I am, so he stops and listens. “Are you okay?” He holds his hand out for me. “Trust me, you will be fine. I will look after you, no one will ever hurt you again.” He adds.I jump up from the bed and take his hand. Swiftly we are walking out through the big backyard with the beautiful garden , up to
Was it all just a game for him? You think you got this whole friendship thing figured out then it all comes crashing down. Looking out of the window of the car watching trees go by. I notice the Guard; Liam is watching me closely. Nothing matters to me. If he is not my friend, who have I got left? What to fight for? No strength left in me as I sink into the seat. I feel broken. The car slows down and comes to a halt. I don’t even know how long we have been driving for, but the smell here is completely different.“Lady Eliza, this way please. I will show you your new Room.” The old man is back, and he gestures towards the Alpha house. I catch my breath at the sight as he starts to trot on. This is more like a castle, no wonder he calls himself a King with an Alpha house like this. It is magnificent. Vine growing up on the sides of it, climbing up the vast white iridescent stone walls. As Romantic and rustic as it looks outside, it i
I walk back to Noel who helps me walking back to my Room. He tries to speak to me but I don’t feel like talking. All the excitement I felt on the way to the beach is gone. Feeling even more hurt then when he dropped this bombshell on me about Jackson getting married.“When is the Prince getting married? Do you know?” I ask him just as we arrive at the door.“Saturday.” He answers and I shut the door without even thanking him. The pain I feel is almost unbearable. How can I hurt this much just because he decided to take this step? Just six days till the wedding. What did he mean when he said, “It’s not like you see me for who I am”?I find myself repeating these words over and over in my head. Who is he? Who am I? Am I asking the right questions? How am I supposed to know who he is? It’s not like I knew him for long.Days are passing by and frequently I found myself just standing on
