Chapter 56
The Kitchen is quiet only a hand full of Maidens who I have seen before are now present. They are sitting at a table with some snacks. Usually, the table had always been full of food, ready for everyone working in and around the castle to take. The chatter stops as I enter the room and all eyes are on me, expectant but with a look of fear.
“Hello” I say quietly before walking towards the five Ladies sitting around the table.
A young Lady with light brown Hair, petite in size starts to speak as I take a chair to join them.
“Many of the Kings slaves have left the Village in fear as soon as the Pack bond broke. There are not many of us left to keep the Kitchen running. We don’t even have a cook to make the meals. Slowly trying to open my eyes, I am barely able to open them, and everything is blurry. I am hurting all over. My hands are not cuffed anymore so someone must have been back to check on me. And these is a water bottle next to me, which I grab to rinse the blood taste out of my mouth spitting it into the bucket with water on the side. Pouring some of the water in my hand to run it over my face. It eases the pain slightly. I should just fight them next time they come in, I will just have to make sure I run faster than they do once I am out, or I need to knock them out enough so they can’t raise the alarm and I am gone before they will know. “You don’t want to do that. Instantly I feel hurt by his action. Does he pretend? Is he not worth it? A young girl is offering me the same drink as the Alpha’s, but I put my hand on my glass refusing any of that devil’s stuff, grape juice that burns your throat, no thank you. “Julie, please offer her Apple juice.” He nods towards the young girl who hurries to change the Pitcher to the Juice one. “I can’t risk him knowing, how I feel about you.” He looks over to me as he mind links me.
