Elsa's POV

In all honesty, I was almost intimidated. The Jarvis I met at Glassdoor empire wasn't the one I knew in the mansion, my close friend.

As I walked into the gigantic doors of the company, my eyes picked on the fanciness of my surroundings, I felt like I was meant to be there. I had casually mentioned to Jarvis about my job search in one of our lengthy conversations and he encouraged I apply in the Davidson company but I wasn't expecting that I was going to get shortlisted in such a top tier company like this.

A stern looking middle aged man walked up to me, he had a staff tag pinned to his chest.

“Are you here for the interview?” He said without sparing me a glance.

I responded and gave him my name, he checked the iPad on his palm and nodded in affirmation. He held out a temporary identity card to me which I placed around my neck. We made for the elevator and he directed me to the third floor where I met with other candidates.

I saw Jarvis walked out of the elevator close to the waiting room and every fiber of my body wished to rush over to him but I had to refrain myself as I watched the staffs shower him with utmost respect. He walked past me and acknowledged my greeting casually just as he had done to other candidates and made for his office.

When it was my turn for the interview, I walked in confidently just as I had practised up to ten times this morning. To my relief, Jarvis and Jethro weren't part of the interview, I settled down and answered all questions confidently.

Just when I was internally rejoicing at the positive look on the interviewer’s faces, the doorknob turned, did I tell you I was relieved that the Davidson twin weren't part of the interview,

Apparently, I was wrong.

Jethro walked in dressed the opposite of himself except his undignified haircut. His tuxedo and gleaming black shoes made his striking resemblance to Jarvis more profound.

“She isn't qualified.”

I bit my lower lip as I heard him proclaim. The interviewers exchanged curious looks while I watched helplessly, torn between defending myself and maintaining my composure.

“Why do you think so Mr Davidson? Aren't you only here to observe?”

The oldest of the trio interviewer said throwing shades at Jethro, obviously their dislike for each other was mutual.

“Of course, the chairman requested me to observe and that is exactly what I have been doing here all day.”

Jethro shot back at the man, awkward silence ensued between them and everyone in the room seemed uncomfortable with the situation.bI figured Jethro had stepped out shortly before I was called in but seeing that he disqualified me as he walked in, he must have been watching the process from CCTV footage.

“What is your reservation about her performance Mr Davidson?”

“Well, she's underqualified for the post, also she doesn't seem smart enough to handle it and she was shortlisted due to my brother’s favouritism.”

He said with a smirk on his smug irritating face. I had to blink back tears that threatened to stream out of my eyes, I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction he craves for.

“That is a serious accusation you have here Mr Davidson.” the petite woman said bluntly.

“She seems intelligent enough to my reasoning.”The older man counter attacked Jethro’s words, defending me.

“Vigorously test her more, if she fails, she is out but if it is a pass, I let it go.”

His sly smile had revealed it all ,he wasn't going to let me get the job no matter how hard I tried. Their banter ended and all attention shifted back to me.

Had Jarvis abandoned me to prove his brother wrong?

Was I being fair judging him like that, wouldn't he prove Jethro right if he had showed up?

I draw in my innermost courage and faced my interviewer.vI could see Jethro adjusting on his seat but I couldn't care less,

I wasn't going to go down without a fight.

Time sleaked by without me realizing it until my body felt it, I was famished and so were my interviewer. To my absolute bliss, I had constructive responses to all the vigorous questions thrown to me.

My courage heightened significantly as I flowed freely with the pace of it all, the affirmative nods I got gave me the inclination that I was going great. I looked over at Jethro whose countenance remained expressionless, I knew my woes weren't over.

“Mr Davidson, do you have any questions for her?”

The older interviewer threw the word in the air and I felt Jethro's gaze on me intensified. Awkward silence ensued in the room for the longest time.

“Mr Davidson,” he called again.

“I do not… have any …question for her.” he said In between clenched teeth.

“Miss Williams, thank you for your time,we will get back to you.”

I bid them goodbye and left the company. The reality of my misfortune finally dawned on me as I walked through the gate of the mansion. I did exceptionally well no doubt but Jethro Davidson wasn't a mere onlooker, his family owned the company and I knew he wouldn't allow my employment.

I made peace with my impending rejection.

“Bad news on an empty stomach is the most terrible combination ever.”

I made it to the kitchen to have my lunch served. I even had the maid double my portion of the food, I would need a lot of stamina for tears, wouldn't I?

I was busy munching on my delicacy while scrolling through social media when a message notification popped up on my phone screen. My brows furrowed as I clicked on it.

“Congratulations Miss Williams, you have been offered a job position at Glassdoor empire, the details of the employment will be communicated to you through your mailbox.”

I threw a chunk of food out of my mouth and jumped up excitedly, I couldn't contain my joy, I had done it, I had overridden Jethro's condemnation.

“Congratulations, you have successfully proved my theory right l

ittle Miss gold digger.”

I turned to see Jethro looking down at me with full rage.

Yoka’s POVAs I watched Jethro stagger out of the club house, fresh anger surged in me. I felt my insides turn at the thought of his foolishness. That spoiled brat definitely wasn’t going to grow up anytime soon.I started undressing myself leaving my shorts on. I had to return to the inner warehouse where I was arranging my goods before he called for me. Being born poor had always been my undoing. A privilege Jethro Davidson had but couldn’t tap into it.Numbskull!“Yoka, the party is over already?” The lanky gatekeeper questioned me teasingly.“Yeah, the billionaire brat left early, he was totally drunk and out of it.” I responded dejectedly.I walked past the gatekeeper and made for my turf, it had always been the safest place for me in the world. Growing up on the streets, surviving on distributing drugs hasn’t been an easy feat for me, but meeting a spoilt brat made me envy being born in wealth so much.Unfortunately, it was too late for me.I felt my insides cringe from listenin

  • Stuck Between Identical Twin Billionaires    Chapter 96: The Pain That Lingers

Elsa’s POV It has been weeks but it all felt the same, the loneliness slowly creeping into my mind. I had a million reasons to blame myself for my father’s untimely demise.I shouldn’t have allowed him to go out that day!I should have stopped him from returning to Los Angeles! But none of it feels right. Jarvis had kept on consoling me, he had told me it wasn’t our faults for losing our fathers to the cold arms of death yet, it was difficult to accept.I am totally an orphan.“Miss Williams , I have been calling out to you for some time, is everything alright?”I turned to face my colleague and forced on a smile just as I have been doing for quite awhile now. He returned my smile and walked away. Thankfully it was obvious he understood that I needed my time alone. The painful memory of my mother showing up at my father's funeral still hurts so much. The moment she had walked into the hall, I knew beyond reasonable doubt that she was my deadbeat mother.I took a glaring resemblance t

  • Stuck Between Identical Twin Billionaires    Chapter 95: What Was Never Yours

Jethro’s POV I slammed my hand on the table as fresh anger surged in me. All eyes turned in my direction but I didn’t care. I really wished father was here,I could have given him a huge chunk of my mind.“Never! I do not agree with everything!” I shouted at the top of my voice.Everyone else seemed affected by my action except one person , my twin brother Jarvis. He just stood there unshaken as if he wasn’t the exact villain in my life story.“Mr Jethro Davidson, please be seated, there is more to be said.”More to be said! What more could be said than the trashy bullshit I just heard a few minutes earlier. Father had given his entire company to my brother and then he compensated me with some measly amount of money and landed properties. Was he freaking joking!I had listened to him, when he insisted that I work at the company. I had enslaved myself by listening to him. I had shown up almost everyday, changed my appearance and even related with lowly people at the company.“Mr David

Jarvis’s POV One last look at the mirror, a teardrop on my left cheek. I took another look at myself, my black suit, bow tie and unstyled hair. I didn’t know how best to console myself because I never planned to dress for this occasion too soon.Father’s demise was a total tragedy!Unfortunately I am not alone in this, the only woman I love is also mourning. I wasn’t strong enough to hold myself together, how would I console Elsa? The day had started on a happy note, the two men had made it to drink and catch up on old times, only for us to individually receive distress calls of their demise in an accident.“Jarvis, aren’t you done yet?” I heard Jethro’s voice from the doorway.“I am ready.” I said in a barely audible voice.I had soaked my bed with tears last night. Unlike Jethro, I wasn’t strong enough to hold back my emotions. To make matters worse, when Elsa and I met at the hospital, she had paled out so much within a day.My pain intensified!I dragged my foot and made for the

  • Stuck Between Identical Twin Billionaires    Chapter 93: Drink To The Death

Patrick’s POVIt is all so glaring now that my speculation was right, Jake Davidson had truly been remorseful. My daughter had been beaming with smiles all day, her diamond glittering ring had been the topic in the house. My companion Leila, her garrulous friend hadn’t spared me out of her impending wedding party plans. She had even described the imaginative wedding scene she envisioned, with her being the bridesmaid and me walking Elsa down the aisle to the altar, in truth, It sounds so amazing!I had watched my daughter’s reactions to it all, just as Jake Davidson had said, the last time we met, drawing up a contract that favors us was definitely going to put my mind at ease especially now that we were leaving Los Angeles.Crownstar Group, my daughter’s workplace and Glassdoor Empire had concluded their collaboration and the project turned out successful, so now it was time to return home,Strangely, it feels like home here too.I had lived a greater part of my life in this very to

Jarvis’s POV It was the day finally!I stood there in the midst of the rest of the staff at Glassdoor Empire as the sendforth party for Elsa’s team went on. I was torn between immeasurable joy and a sense of loss. She was leaving, walking out of my space again. I tried to make sense of my feelings but I guess I have gotten too attached to seeing her stunning face everyday, that was why I couldn’t bear the thought of her impending absence.“I am specially grateful to the CEO of Crownstar Group for the wonderful team he set up, the collaboration was a great success to both of our companies.”I could feel the insincerity behind my father’s words, it was true the collaboration was a success and the CEO of Crownstar empire had put up a great team, but my father definitely wasn’t grateful to him.My father had spent the better hours of his morning speaking ill of the CEO, since his team arrived at Glassdoor Empire, he had made no attempt to have a direct conversation with my father, appare
