Elsa's POV

In all honesty, I was almost intimidated. The Jarvis I met at Glassdoor empire wasn't the one I knew in the mansion, my close friend.

As I walked into the gigantic doors of the company, my eyes picked on the fanciness of my surroundings, I felt like I was meant to be there. I had casually mentioned to Jarvis about my job search in one of our lengthy conversations and he encouraged I apply in the Davidson company but I wasn't expecting that I was going to get shortlisted in such a top tier company like this.

A stern looking middle aged man walked up to me, he had a staff tag pinned to his chest.

“Are you here for the interview?” He said without sparing me a glance.

I responded and gave him my name, he checked the iPad on his palm and nodded in affirmation. He held out a temporary identity card to me which I placed around my neck. We made for the elevator and he directed me to the third floor where I met with other candidates.

I saw Jarvis walked out of the elevator close to the waiting room and every fiber of my body wished to rush over to him but I had to refrain myself as I watched the staffs shower him with utmost respect. He walked past me and acknowledged my greeting casually just as he had done to other candidates and made for his office.

When it was my turn for the interview, I walked in confidently just as I had practised up to ten times this morning. To my relief, Jarvis and Jethro weren't part of the interview, I settled down and answered all questions confidently.

Just when I was internally rejoicing at the positive look on the interviewer’s faces, the doorknob turned, did I tell you I was relieved that the Davidson twin weren't part of the interview,

Apparently, I was wrong.

Jethro walked in dressed the opposite of himself except his undignified haircut. His tuxedo and gleaming black shoes made his striking resemblance to Jarvis more profound.

“She isn't qualified.”

I bit my lower lip as I heard him proclaim. The interviewers exchanged curious looks while I watched helplessly, torn between defending myself and maintaining my composure.

“Why do you think so Mr Davidson? Aren't you only here to observe?”

The oldest of the trio interviewer said throwing shades at Jethro, obviously their dislike for each other was mutual.

“Of course, the chairman requested me to observe and that is exactly what I have been doing here all day.”

Jethro shot back at the man, awkward silence ensued between them and everyone in the room seemed uncomfortable with the situation.bI figured Jethro had stepped out shortly before I was called in but seeing that he disqualified me as he walked in, he must have been watching the process from CCTV footage.

“What is your reservation about her performance Mr Davidson?”

“Well, she's underqualified for the post, also she doesn't seem smart enough to handle it and she was shortlisted due to my brother’s favouritism.”

He said with a smirk on his smug irritating face. I had to blink back tears that threatened to stream out of my eyes, I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction he craves for.

“That is a serious accusation you have here Mr Davidson.” the petite woman said bluntly.

“She seems intelligent enough to my reasoning.”The older man counter attacked Jethro’s words, defending me.

“Vigorously test her more, if she fails, she is out but if it is a pass, I let it go.”

His sly smile had revealed it all ,he wasn't going to let me get the job no matter how hard I tried. Their banter ended and all attention shifted back to me.

Had Jarvis abandoned me to prove his brother wrong?

Was I being fair judging him like that, wouldn't he prove Jethro right if he had showed up?

I draw in my innermost courage and faced my interviewer.vI could see Jethro adjusting on his seat but I couldn't care less,

I wasn't going to go down without a fight.

Time sleaked by without me realizing it until my body felt it, I was famished and so were my interviewer. To my absolute bliss, I had constructive responses to all the vigorous questions thrown to me.

My courage heightened significantly as I flowed freely with the pace of it all, the affirmative nods I got gave me the inclination that I was going great. I looked over at Jethro whose countenance remained expressionless, I knew my woes weren't over.

“Mr Davidson, do you have any questions for her?”

The older interviewer threw the word in the air and I felt Jethro's gaze on me intensified. Awkward silence ensued in the room for the longest time.

“Mr Davidson,” he called again.

“I do not… have any …question for her.” he said In between clenched teeth.

“Miss Williams, thank you for your time,we will get back to you.”

I bid them goodbye and left the company. The reality of my misfortune finally dawned on me as I walked through the gate of the mansion. I did exceptionally well no doubt but Jethro Davidson wasn't a mere onlooker, his family owned the company and I knew he wouldn't allow my employment.

I made peace with my impending rejection.

“Bad news on an empty stomach is the most terrible combination ever.”

I made it to the kitchen to have my lunch served. I even had the maid double my portion of the food, I would need a lot of stamina for tears, wouldn't I?

I was busy munching on my delicacy while scrolling through social media when a message notification popped up on my phone screen. My brows furrowed as I clicked on it.

“Congratulations Miss Williams, you have been offered a job position at Glassdoor empire, the details of the employment will be communicated to you through your mailbox.”

I threw a chunk of food out of my mouth and jumped up excitedly, I couldn't contain my joy, I had done it, I had overridden Jethro's condemnation.

“Congratulations, you have successfully proved my theory right l

ittle Miss gold digger.”

I turned to see Jethro looking down at me with full rage.

Yoka’s POVI puffed a smoke into the air as frustration welled up in me. This is the fifth cigarette I have had this night in a bid to keep me alert. I turned my vision to my captive who was still having her peaceful sleep. At a point I would have assumed she was dying, but her heartbeat had remained steady, so obviously, she was a fighter at heart.I picked up my phone again and dialed Jethro’s number. I was starting to get worried that his brother might catch up with us before we could get things done. I am certain that asshole would be somewhere smooshing a bitch and here I am, stuck in a damn hole taking care of his dirty laundry.I dropped the cigarette and watched it burn gradually to ashes. To distract my mind. I had to keep my attention on social media where I focused on a pornographic video that had just been posted. My jaw dropped when I saw a new appearance in the series. It was none other than my foster brother Edward who had long cut ties with me. I watched his eyes light

Jarvis’s POV I am starting to feel uncomfortable. It has been a whooping five hours and I still haven’t heard from Elsa. I kept calling her number but she wasn’t answering.“Mr Davidson, you are unusually quiet today.” Mr Williams said.I had been stuck in this boring board meeting for the past two hours but I have been less attentive since it had lasted thirty minutes. I gave a soft smile to cover up the fact that I wasn’t listening all along. “Thank you for the observation Mr Williams, I don’t have any objections yet.” I said. The meeting went on and I attempted to pull my attention together but I kept faltering. The last straw came when my eyes suddenly turned toward my phone which I had put in silence. I read the name of the caller on the screen, it was Leila. That was it! Something was definitely not right.“Please excuse me, I need to take this urgent call.”I said and got up hastily from my chair. I knew the board of directors felt like the meeting was totally important, but

Elsa's POV I stretched lightly as i alighted from the cab. I knew I would definitely be jet lagged after spending five hours on the airplane. I had spent two days at the hospital with Leila and her kids. Thankfully, her daughter was now healthy but still under observation by her pediatrician. My phone chimed and i smiled when I checked it, my boss Mr Torris had messaged to check up on me, even some of my colleagues had done the same. I couldn’t get over my excitement at how great my working relationship had been, my life was really close to perfection.Jarvis had been checking up on me every hour which made me blush, in spite of my woes, Leila would still make jokes about our cordial love life which she finds admirable. Spending two days with Leila and the children, I realized why Leila had left her ex-husband.Killen was an unrepentant verbal abuser, while he visited the hospital, he was on the phone with one of his work colleagues and right there, he used a lot of curses which made

Jethro’s POV.“Get out of my way!”I shouted at the guards that stood at the entrance. He didn’t bulge at all, obviously my brother had instructed that I shouldn’t be allowed into the Glassdoor Empire. An inheritance I was robbed of. My eyes remained fixated at the intimidating height and gigantism of the security personnel.“I just needed to have a word with my brother.” I lied. The guard still didn’t bulge. I cursed inwardly under my breath and walked back to my car. I got in and zoomed off the premises. I had thought that I could never be sidelined like this, but now that the reality of my life had shown in my face, I wouldn't feel the least bit of guilt if I went ahead with my plans. My phone rang distracting me from my thoughts. As expected, Yoka’s call had come through. I picked it up instantly while still driving. His deep voice cuts through impatiently as if we hadn’t spoken just the previous night.“There is a problem dude.”I pressed on the car brake and slowed down, Proble

Yoka's POVOur eyes met and I felt a strange sensation of lust. It turns out the boys were right, they had actually located her quite easily. I have spent the best part of my day waiting aimlessly close to her house, and finally the saucy bitch showed up as expected.Elsa Williams, the bitch with some balls. She gave me a disgusting look which confirmed Jethro’s points about her. I ignored her attitude as I watched her run after her petite friend who for some unknown reason looked like she was in a frenzy.“Mr Carmen, are we done here now?” Jane said, looking up to me.”“Done!” I had rented the wench for the whole day and now she was asking if she was done, just because our fake couple act was over. I looked over at her skinny ass and spanked it .“How can we be done when I haven’t had a taste of this at all.”I said and she smiled.I could tell she wasn’t comfortable with me but I didn’t care. She was a brothel harlot that had served many purposes, so I shouldn’t be different, should

Elsa’s POV “I am definitely not wearing any of that!” I said and walked past the rack. Leila drew me back suddenly and I almost lost my balance. She had been so excited about this moment better than I was, she literally dragged me off the bed just to ensure we show up at the clothing store.“Girl! You are definitely trying them on, I mean look at these beauties and imagine having them worn on a delicate beautiful body.” She said touching the fabric of one of the dresses.“Quit the flattery Leila, I am sticking to the modest fashion I love,” I paused and looked ahead, “I think the section is right ahead.”I pointed in the direction of a rack at the end of the room. “Boring!” Leila scoffed in annoyance and rolled her eyes. She had been so excited since I told her that Jarvis and I had picked our wedding date. She even postponed visiting her children for the next weekend just for her to stick around me.Everything was making so much sense now!My phone rang, and I excused myself to pi
