Elsa's POV
In all honesty, I was almost intimidated. The Jarvis I met at Glassdoor empire wasn't the one I knew in the mansion, my close friend.
As I walked into the gigantic doors of the company, my eyes picked on the fanciness of my surroundings, I felt like I was meant to be there. I had casually mentioned to Jarvis about my job search in one of our lengthy conversations and he encouraged I apply in the Davidson company but I wasn't expecting that I was going to get shortlisted in such a top tier company like this.
A stern looking middle aged man walked up to me, he had a staff tag pinned to his chest.
“Are you here for the interview?” He said without sparing me a glance.
I responded and gave him my name, he checked the iPad on his palm and nodded in affirmation. He held out a temporary identity card to me which I placed around my neck. We made for the elevator and he directed me to the third floor where I met with other candidates.
I saw Jarvis walked out of the elevator close to the waiting room and every fiber of my body wished to rush over to him but I had to refrain myself as I watched the staffs shower him with utmost respect. He walked past me and acknowledged my greeting casually just as he had done to other candidates and made for his office.
When it was my turn for the interview, I walked in confidently just as I had practised up to ten times this morning. To my relief, Jarvis and Jethro weren't part of the interview, I settled down and answered all questions confidently.
Just when I was internally rejoicing at the positive look on the interviewer’s faces, the doorknob turned, did I tell you I was relieved that the Davidson twin weren't part of the interview,
Apparently, I was wrong.
Jethro walked in dressed the opposite of himself except his undignified haircut. His tuxedo and gleaming black shoes made his striking resemblance to Jarvis more profound.
“She isn't qualified.”
I bit my lower lip as I heard him proclaim. The interviewers exchanged curious looks while I watched helplessly, torn between defending myself and maintaining my composure.
“Why do you think so Mr Davidson? Aren't you only here to observe?”
The oldest of the trio interviewer said throwing shades at Jethro, obviously their dislike for each other was mutual.
“Of course, the chairman requested me to observe and that is exactly what I have been doing here all day.”
Jethro shot back at the man, awkward silence ensued between them and everyone in the room seemed uncomfortable with the situation.bI figured Jethro had stepped out shortly before I was called in but seeing that he disqualified me as he walked in, he must have been watching the process from CCTV footage.
“What is your reservation about her performance Mr Davidson?”
“Well, she's underqualified for the post, also she doesn't seem smart enough to handle it and she was shortlisted due to my brother’s favouritism.”
He said with a smirk on his smug irritating face. I had to blink back tears that threatened to stream out of my eyes, I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction he craves for.
“That is a serious accusation you have here Mr Davidson.” the petite woman said bluntly.
“She seems intelligent enough to my reasoning.”The older man counter attacked Jethro’s words, defending me.
“Vigorously test her more, if she fails, she is out but if it is a pass, I let it go.”
His sly smile had revealed it all ,he wasn't going to let me get the job no matter how hard I tried. Their banter ended and all attention shifted back to me.
Had Jarvis abandoned me to prove his brother wrong?
Was I being fair judging him like that, wouldn't he prove Jethro right if he had showed up?
I draw in my innermost courage and faced my interviewer.vI could see Jethro adjusting on his seat but I couldn't care less,
I wasn't going to go down without a fight.
Time sleaked by without me realizing it until my body felt it, I was famished and so were my interviewer. To my absolute bliss, I had constructive responses to all the vigorous questions thrown to me.
My courage heightened significantly as I flowed freely with the pace of it all, the affirmative nods I got gave me the inclination that I was going great. I looked over at Jethro whose countenance remained expressionless, I knew my woes weren't over.
“Mr Davidson, do you have any questions for her?”
The older interviewer threw the word in the air and I felt Jethro's gaze on me intensified. Awkward silence ensued in the room for the longest time.
“Mr Davidson,” he called again.
“I do not… have any …question for her.” he said In between clenched teeth.
“Miss Williams, thank you for your time,we will get back to you.”
I bid them goodbye and left the company. The reality of my misfortune finally dawned on me as I walked through the gate of the mansion. I did exceptionally well no doubt but Jethro Davidson wasn't a mere onlooker, his family owned the company and I knew he wouldn't allow my employment.
I made peace with my impending rejection.
“Bad news on an empty stomach is the most terrible combination ever.”
I made it to the kitchen to have my lunch served. I even had the maid double my portion of the food, I would need a lot of stamina for tears, wouldn't I?
I was busy munching on my delicacy while scrolling through social media when a message notification popped up on my phone screen. My brows furrowed as I clicked on it.
“Congratulations Miss Williams, you have been offered a job position at Glassdoor empire, the details of the employment will be communicated to you through your mailbox.”
I threw a chunk of food out of my mouth and jumped up excitedly, I couldn't contain my joy, I had done it, I had overridden Jethro's condemnation.
“Congratulations, you have successfully proved my theory right l
ittle Miss gold digger.”
I turned to see Jethro looking down at me with full rage.
Jethro's POV“Congratulations, you have successfully proved my theory right little Miss gold digger.”My insides twisted in rage as I saw her in a jubilant mood, I couldn't contain my anger, I spewed out the spiteful word in my heart to her, she had successfully evaded my home, my brother's heart and now my inheritance; Glassdoor Empire. She gave me a pitiful gaze but I ignored it, I had been ridiculed by those measly directors, I was so pissed beyond words. I saw her drop the fork in her grasp and I smiled satisfactorily, it had worked again, my attempt at intimidating her!She has always walked on eggshells around me since her arrival at the mansion and I always enjoy every bit of it, at least I have a weaker person to pick on consistently.“Mr Davidson, you have a guest.”One of the servants in the mansion reported to me, I eyed Elsa maliciously and made for my room after asking that they allow my guest in, just exactly what I needed at the moment, an escape! The fair skinned amber

Elsa's POV “Because we are both lonely and stuck in the mansion for now.”I could tell instantly that this man had closed many business deals in life. His smooth sailing word and clear conviction erased every objection I could think of.He looked expectantly at me and I knew I couldn't refuse his offer, not when it was so reasonable and polite.“You have a point, I agree, but a simple clause, “no strings attached.”“To my pleasure Elsa.”He stretched forward his arms and I shook it. Our platonic friendship was sealed that very moment. He sat with me for another hour while I wrapped up my laundry.Jarvis had offered me a hand but I refused blatantly. I couldn't imagine having a prince charming as him soiling his precious hands scrubbing my dresses. Each day passes by quickly as our friendship has erased boredom, we keep meeting up every evening after Jarvis returns from work to discuss anything and everything except our private lives. But there was a thorn in my flesh, Jethro's hate for
Elsa's POVTension built up in me.I backed away from him and he released my chin. We locked eyes and unsaid messages passed between us, I waited for his next move hoping desperately that my scream would be loud enough to stop him.But it never came, his expected move.He just walked out on me yawning lazily, I felt my heart steadied as I watched his departing back, the tension in the air subsided and I felt foolish for thinking that grossly of him.Jethro was rough around the edges but I don't think he would be brazen enough to molest me. I could still feel the shaking of my hand and feet. I could barely move them, I managed to make it back to my room learning my lesson the hard way possible.“There are out of bound areas in the mansion,do not go there.”I scolded my subconscious mind and collapsed on the soft bed. My mind is laced with thoughts that it shouldn't, how hard I have worked to keep my virginity intact, i wasn't going to end up a plaything for a yapping jerk like him.The
Elsa's POV I watched him passed by looking pale and exhausted, every fiber in my body wished to question his loss of vibrance but I couldn't, because,It was none of my business. My first week spent at the Davidson mansion had passed by in a frenzy and everyday seemed like a mere repetition of the previous day. To keep myself occupied, I joined in some house chores against the head maid's wish but boredom wouldn't let me listen to her.Doing some laundry while humming my favourite song keeps me alive and away from my troubled heart. Jethro and Javis, the Davidson identical twins, as I know their names now still didn't spare me a proper welcome except the occasional disdainful gaze from Jethro and warm smile from Jarvis. But I couldn't care anymore, two months is going to be over soon, isn't it?I couldn't shake off my curiosity when Javis lost even that smile of his towards me, he ignores me completely now, I couldn't fathom why but I guess I was overestimating myself earlier, a mere
Elsa's POV I clutch tightly my light-weight box to my thumping heart as I arrived at the mansion, My father's gentle plea echoed through my thoughts.“Just two months Elsa, endure till I return baby.”I felt a tear drop drizzle down my cheek and stopped it halfway with the back of my palm. I slightly raised my pleated maxi skirt and walked confidently into the grey painted building despite feeling the opposite.“State your business here.”I heard a cold voice throw the word at me and my mustered confidence dwindled, replaced by a fear of the unknown.I know next to nothing about the Davidsons, except that they are stinkingly wealthy and influential.Rich enough to give my father and I the average life we live despite him being a mere driver.“I…I came…I am Elsa Williams, Patrick William's daughter,he told….”I haven't concluded the word when the gate opened on its own, I was mesmerized. I didn't see anyone as I walked my way closer to the front door. Despite the gigantism of the compo
