Evelyn’s pov

Shit. Shit. Shit.

Why did I say that?

I mean, seriously, what the hell is wrong with me?

I kissed Tyler. Fine. That already fucked with my head enough. But now I just blurted it out to Christian like some child who tattled on herself.

My brain short-circuited. My whole chest tightened as I watched his face. No rage. No yelling. Nothing.

Just that one word “What?”

I opened my mouth, but the words? They didn’t come out. They got stuck somewhere between my throat.

“I… I didn’t mean for it to happen,” I finally managed. My voice cracked. “It just… it wasn’t supposed to happen.”

He blinked again, slowly. “So why did it?”

I hated how calm he sounded. Like he didn’t care. But that was the problem, he did care. He just buried it too fucking deep, like always.

“I don’t know, okay?” I snapped, but it came out more like a plea than anger. “Can you not… can you just not do anything? Please. I can’t take this anymore. Your rivalry, this power play, this sick obsession with being bette

Evelyn’s povI stormed down the hallway like a madwoman, my boots slamming hard against the cold floor with every step. I wasn’t even trying to hide my anger. Let them hear me. Let her hear me.Alicia.Of course it was her. How did I not see it earlier? The sweet little talk, the fake smile, the concern in her voice. All bullshit. She was never trying to fix things. She was planting her poison and I...God,I almost drank it like tea.And now Leo’s paying the price for it. Because of her. Because of them. Because of Tyler.“Evelyn!” I heard him call behind me, but I didn’t stop. I wasn’t about to look at him, not after what I just learned.I needed to find Alicia. I needed to see her face when I ask her why.I turned the corner, heart racing, fists clenched.“Evelyn, stop!” he called again, louder this time, footsteps growing closer. “Just listen to me—”“No,” I snapped, spinning around to face him. “I don’t want to hear anything else. Just stay out of my way, Tyler.”I turned back to g

Evelyn’s POV“I’m sorry, did I startle you?” Tyler asked, raising both hands in mock surrender. He had appeared out of nowhere, his presence sudden and jarring. I watched him cautiously as he lowered his arms and took a casual glance around the bookshelves, as if he hadn’t just sent a jolt down my spine.“I thought I’d find you here,” he said, his gaze locking onto mine. The tension in the room spiked, thick and suffocating. I looked away quickly, pretending to be occupied as I dragged my finger across the dusty spine of a nearby book.“Why are you here?” I asked, keeping my voice low and even, trying to mask the flurry of emotions rising inside me.“So, I heard you went out into the woods,” he said, stepping closer, two strides, maybe three, until he stood directly in front of me.I could smell his cologne, crisp and musky. His breath was warm against my face, and for a stupid, fleeting second, all I could do was stare at his cherry-red lips. What the hell was he doing? Why stand so

Evelyn's povI glared at Marc. His body twitched, like it always did, every time Christian's name came up. It was his Achilles heel, that name. That power. And right now, he was completely unsure of himself. Slowly, and with noticeable hesitation, he loosened his grip on the girl’s neck. His claws retracted, and blood trickled down her skin. But it was already too late. The little light that had remained in her pale blue eyes flickered... then vanished. Her gaze went hollow, her head lulled forward, and she slumped like a rag doll.I managed to catch her before her body hit the dirt. She was light, almost weightless, like she hadn’t eaten in days. Maybe weeks. Her skin, now that I had her up close, was soft, too soft for a rogue. The moonlight caught the curve of her face just right. Her lips, cherry red. Her bruises told stories, but beneath all that, she had the kind of beauty that made you stop in your tracks. Goddess-level kind of beauty.I shifted her gently in my arms and looked

Evelyn's POVTwigs snapped underfoot as the four betas assigned to investigate the rogue situation maneuvered through the woods, I lingered a few meters behind them, moving silently. I couldn't afford to be seen. I didn't know why I got this strange feeling inside of me but I decided to act on it.Just a few minutes ago, I managed to convince Beta Marc, he was reluctant but I had my ways of getting under people's skin, making them do things they wouldn't do. I had to get him off my back somehow.I quickly ducked behind a tree as I accidentally stepped on a twig, it snapped so loud that heads turned to my direction.“Did you hear that?" one of them asked.“It's probably just an animal, let's keep moving."They turned around and continued their mission. That was a close call. Just a few minutes ago, I was so keen on getting to the Archives. But now, here I am, in the middle of the woods, stalking a group of werewolves like a lost rogue because my curiosity got the best of me.What still

Evelyn.Striding down the hallway and corridors was a furious me, boiling with anger and frustration. All the negative feelings I've been bottling up since Christian and Tyler and basically the rest of the pack decided to gang up on Leo. I didn't even know that I had this much pent up aggression brewing up inside me but it didn't matter now, I was going to get some answers.I walked so fast that I almost knocked down some of the wolves walking blindly. I thought about the conversation I had earlier with Alicia, she wanted to mock me, it wasn't direct but I knew what she was doing.Thinking about Alicia only made me even more pissed, the last thing I needed was another reason to want to scream. “Where are you going so fast?”I heard a voice ask behind me. I turned around slowly and I saw Raya standing my the railing, she had the smug grin on her face, first it was Alicia and now it was her, if I didn't know better, I'd say this was planned. They planned this just to get under my skin.
