Evelyn's POV

In my lingerie, I sat despite knowing Tyler wouldn't be coming home today, but still, I waited beside the decorated room, resisting the urge to call him again as I had so many times before.

The evening breeze flew into the room as the clock struck at midnight causing me to shiver.

“Luna Evelyn, should we come clear the room since the Alpha isn’t back now?” I heard the voice of my head maid after her subtle knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts.

“Let’s wait for thirty more minutes…maybe he’ll come” I replied, trying myself more than I was trying to convince her.

For a moment I thought she had left until she whispered, “Do you need me now?”.

“Go to bed, Elsie” I replied, and I sensed her wait for a while almost as though listening in before sighing and leaving me to my drowning thoughts.

For the past three years, this has happened. I set up preparations, dolled myself up waiting for my husband and after waiting for a while, Elsie would come clear the decorations before consoling me to bed.

I felt tonight was going to be different.

It was no news that my husband and Alpha hated me, but every opportunity I had, I spent it trying to atone for the sins of my father, but all he saw when he looked at me was my father lying unconscious on the lifeless body of his sister.

Tyler desperately believed that I helped my father escape, but the anger of not giving his sister justice and his suspicion without any evidence grew his hatred to a point where I was not permitted to be wherever he could sense me.

It’s been three years, and my husband has never looked at me the same way. I wasn’t even allowed outside the doors of the place because I didn't deserve to live when my father ended his sister's life.

The thought of leaving every so often flashed in my mind a few times, but I couldn’t imagine leaving an already broken man, so I held on to the image of the man who looked past my status to marry me and the memories we created together.

I didn’t know how long I had sat down sipping the wine when I heard a voice that caused the wine glass to drop.

“Where's that murderer's daughter?” I heard him slur before crashing into something.

Unconcerned about the glass, I hurried to where he had fallen flat due to the impact, ignoring the pain I felt as the broken glass pierced through my skin.

“Tyler….” I moved to help him up, but he slapped off my hand before struggling to stand and tripping over a few other objects.

“Why are you still here?” He asked, and I didn’t really know if he was talking to me, so without uttering a word, I continued to assist him, and thankfully, he remained silent this time, letting me help him.

As he lay down in the bed, he stopped me when I was about to move away and pulled me down to sit.

For a while Tyler stared at me; his eyes seemed to be searching, and I hoped he saw me, the woman he had fallen in love with… and saw that I still loved him and understood his pain, but it’s been three years.

I was so tired of this life… this wasn’t the forever we promised ourselves at the altar.

If only he’d give me a chance to say how sorry I was for being unable to do anything about his hurting heart.

“I loved you,” he finally said softly, still holding my gaze, and I felt a tear slip from my eyes; it’s been three years since I heard him say that.

“I can’t believe I’m just seeing you clearly after all this while… you look tired…” he continued in slurs.

Holding back my sobs, my hands found his cheek, and caressing it softly, I replied, “I am fine; I love you and badly miss you.”

“If you ever did, then why did you do it?” He then added almost immediately before pulling me closer to lay beside him, his arms around mine.

His gray eyes still held mine, and even though he smelled like a drunk, his underlying choco musk scent filled my nostrils, slightly comforting me.

I had wished for the day I would be this close to him for years… three years!

My mind flew with so many questions: Did he want to reconcile? Or was this alcohol speaking?

Or perhaps his wolf? Maybe he felt like I was on the verge of leaving without looking back?

“You betrayed me for a man who threw you out on the streets after raping you, I let him stay because you asked me, but he killed Stacy, Eve!”.

This was the first time he was talking about this in three years. My hope of a reconciliation was crushed by an underlying bad feeling which clouded my mind.

Something was wrong.

“What did Stacy ever do to you?” he drowsily asked.

For the umpteenth time, I wanted to tell him that I didn't do it.

To reassure him that I could never have chosen a man who had created the scars on my body over him, especially after he had saved me from the same man.

“Evelyn, what did you gain from doing it? Every day I ask myself why?” I saw a tear fall from his eyes, down to my palm and I leaned in to kiss it…

He let me, and it took all in me not to burst into tears.

This was the closest I had been to him, and I didn’t know how I felt…

“Just like I had tolerated your presence, I hope you forgive me,” he whispered, and I watched slowly go to sleep.

I love you too and I forgive you.

When I tried leaving his tight hold, he didn’t budge, and right there with my head on his chest, I cried.

Lying in his arms just felt so right, and I didn’t want to leave even though I knew this would be over tomorrow; I was just greedy for wanting this from a man that couldn’t stand my sight… I was aware that I would have to bear the cost as well, but I didn't care.

I closed my eyes, and listening to his soft snoring, I felt myself slip into a fantasy island…

This was the only place where my husband didn't hate me.

My illusion was short-lived as I felt a jerk causing me to fall before he thundered, “How dare this bitch touch me?!” I landed hard on the ground.

Evelyn's POVWith a wince, I rubbed my butt and met Tyler’s angry eyes… he glared at me with so much hatred and disgust that caused my heart to ache.I must have been crazy to think that just one drunken man talk would end three years of pent-up hatred.Gone was that vulnerability I saw yesterday and standing in front of me wasn’t the man I laid with yesterday. He was gone just like the alcohol had left his system.“Can’t you hear me? What the fuck are you still doing here?” He thundered, causing me to flinch.“Don’t you remember Ty?” I dared ask.“Yesterday was our anniversary Ty and you came in here drunk…” I added quietly avoiding his eyes, but I could still feel the intensity of his glare. If looks could kill, I’d be dead, but I was ready for this… I didn’t regret lying in his warmth even though it was just for a few hours.“We share no relationship, woman why were you laying on my body… you really have some nerve!” He snarled, venoms dripping from his words.“You came home drunk,

Evelyn’s POV“Ms. Eve, will you be free to stop by the office today?” Doctor Alvarez asked as I picked up my ringing phone. It’s been two long years since I stepped out of Bluestone pack without looking back once.“I’m on my way to Gregory’s office, Ava, is this something serious? I had already done my test this month… ”The fear in her voice when she continued scared me a bit, “Is it the cancer? Did you find another tumor?”Leaving Ty, I had nowhere to go and after leaving off as a rogue for a month, I stumbled into Alpha Gregory pack and rather than treating me like others had… he took me in and changed my life.I didn’t enjoy his protection for long before I was diagnosed with Cervical cancer… his support helped me pull through. It was safe to say that I spent the last two years treating cancer and falling in love with myself over again.“Breathe Eve, you just have to come in as soon as possible, and please don’t tell Alpha Gregory” she pleaded before ending the call.I diverted an

Evelyn's POV I forgot to breathe at that moment as I stood frozen in the doorway. Seated there, like a king on his throne, was the man who had broken my life into a thousand irredeemable pieces. Tyler Blackwood. His emerald eyes sprang lazily up to mine. A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. He settled back into the chair, one leg crossed over the other, with that effortless air of authority which had drawn me to him initially. Black, tailored suiting fitted him sleek on his tall, muscular body and dark hair a casually unkempt air, tousled with intention. “Evelyn,” he drawled, a low, smooth baritone that sent a shiver of reaction up my spine. “It's been a while.” “What in the world do you think you're doing here?” I snapped, sharper than I'd meant to. My hands were clenching hard at my sides, my pulse hammering loudly in my ears. He slouched forward, dropping his elbows to his knees. That smirk had deepened to impregnate even his eyes. “Is that how you should be received

Christian's POVThe moment I pushed the doors open, the room fell into a thick, uneasy silence. Every head turned in my direction.Good. That was the way it should be.I walked in without a word at first, letting the weight of my presence do what words couldn’t. My steps were slow, deliberate, the kind that made people shift in place and wonder if they should move out of the way. Then my eyes found her.Evelyn.She looked exactly how I remembered, like fire barely contained in human skin. Her posture screamed defiance, chin raised, eyes hard. Beautiful and unyielding. But what caught my attention wasn’t just her. It was the man beside her. Tall, lean, with an arm resting far too comfortably around her waist. That? That didn’t sit well with me.“Well,” I said finally, voice calm but sharp. “What do we have here?”Tyler chuckled. The sound scraped against my nerves. He pushed himself away from the fireplace, that same cocky glint in his eyes.“Well, this is unexpected,” he said, crossin

Tyler's POVI stood by the great stone fireplace in the sitting room, hands clenched behind my back, as the late afternoon light shifted through gilded windows. The room smelled of polished wood and an invisible dark cloud loomed over. The living room was tense. The kind of tension that made your skin itch and the air feel too thick to breathe. Christian sat stiffly in one of the armchairs, his icy gaze locked on the door. Raya perched on the arm of his seat, arms folded, lips pursed. Alicia sat beside me, legs crossed, her eyes sharp as blades. And Leo, Leo stood by the window, not even pretending to hide the scowl on his face. The door opened.Moments later, Dr. Ava Alvarez walked with two of my guards escorting her from behind. The woman looked nervous, her hands twisting in front of her as she glanced around the room like a trapped deer. She should be. After all she was in a room packed full with angry werewolves who only saw her as dinner."Doctor Alvarez," Alicia said, gestur

EvelynFew minutes after Dr. Alvarez’s walked down the hall, the heavy tension in the grand room felt almost solid. Leo stood just inside the doorway, arms wrapped around himself, eyes fixed on the spot where Ava had been. Tyler leaned against the mantle, fists clenched, breath slow and measured. Christian stood opposite him, back straight, shoulders squared, a faint smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. The silence stretched so long that I could hear the fire’s crackle and the soft hum of the grandfather clock. I pressed my palms flat against the marble side table and tried to swallow the tremor in my throat. Finally, Christian broke it. His voice was low, almost bored. “Evelyn, gather your things. You’re coming with me.”My heart thudded so hard I thought it might burst. My chest tightened. I felt every eye in the room on me. "Excuse me?” I said, stepping forward. My voice wavered, betraying my fear.Christian’s smirk widened. “I’ll say it again. Pack your bags. You’re coming

Evelyn“I didn’t ask for this,” I said quietly. “I didn’t ask to be pregnant. I didn’t ask to be part of this stupid rivalry. And I sure as hell didn’t ask to be surrounded by men who think they own me.”I wiped my face roughly with my sleeve and stood back up.“No more of this.”My voice echoed slightly in the quiet room. I walked to the mirror above the dresser and looked at myself. My reflection looked tired. Pale. My hair was a mess. My eyes were rimmed with frustration.“I’m not just a mother-to-be. I’m not just a vessel. I’m Evelyn Williams. And I don’t belong to any of them.”I took a deep breath, steadied my shoulders, and nodded at my reflection.“I’ll choose. On my terms. And if they don’t like it… they can choke on it.”The wind rattled the window slightly. I didn’t flinch.Let them wait.I barely had time to collect myself when the door creaked open.I turned sharply, brows already furrowed.Alicia.She stepped in like she owned the place, all red lips and venom in her eye

EVELYNTwo weeks. It had been two full weeks since the agreement was made, and somehow, no one had ripped each other’s throats out yet.I shared a king-sized room with Leo, one of the guest suites at the far end of the house. It was spacious, quiet, and overlooked the southern garden. He didn’t overstep, didn’t push, just offered calm presence when I needed it and silence when I didn’t.The mornings are quiet. I wake first, light slipping through heavy curtains. Leo lies on another bed, breathing slow and even. I slip out of bed and pad over to the window. The ridge of Bluestone territory stretches beyond the gardens, rolling hills, pines, and the creek we discovered on my first day back. I trace the path with my eyes, thinking how different everything feels when the air is still. Most days, I find Leo in the library before breakfast. He sits in a wingback chair, a mug of tea in hand. I’ll bring him coffee, and we won’t speak for the first five minutes. It’s comfortable silence. Then
