Adam grinned menacingly as he saw her terrified expression and said, "say it again.”

Mia scowled and exerted a lot of effort. However, she was barely able to break free from his grasp. She found it hard to breathe as the strong man's upper torso crushed her down. Ultimately, all she could do was give up.

"Adam...H-Honey. You-“

Adam's small lips gave her a forceful kiss before Mia could finish her statement.

Kelvin Sinclair, the driver in front, had been Adam’s personal bodyguard for a number of years. It was the most impatient Adam he had ever seen with a woman. With a silent smirk, he politely lifted the car panel. It was quite uncommon. Even those with strong wills occasionally faltered.

Everyone would have presume that he was Adam’s lover if Adam wasn’t married, because that was the rumor going around.

"Mmm.."

Adam finally released Mia just as she was about to choke.

"Adam, you..."

“I won’t correct you again if you have the audacity to call my name again in the future! Think of this as a warning.” Adam said.

“Pfft.." Mia nearly spat blood because she was so furious. She was genuinely perplexed as to Adam’s obsession with "Honey!"

However, she could see from his grave, cautionary gaze that he would undoubtedly carry out his instructions.

"You.." Being squeezed down made her uncomfortable. "Get up first."

Adam sat up straight, looked at her intently, and ran his thumb over the corner of his mouth. She tasted nice, hehe.

Mia sat up and started straightening her hair and clothes. She had cleaned up and was ready to speak. However, Kelvin’s voice was heard from the front. "Mr. Bowen, we've arrived."

Mia peered out the car window nervously. How did they get there so fast?

Adam took her small hand in the crook of his arm after exiting the vehicle and said, "My grandfather really likes Nyla, so please be more affectionate with him when we get in."

Since the wedding, this would be Mia’s second encounter with Adam’s granddad. She had always been amiable with the elderly. As they entered the house, they noticed the elderly man rubbing a cute dog while sitting in an armchair and listening to music.

Adam’s icy visage lit up with a bright smile. "Grandpa.”

Mia hastily forced a grin and shouted out as the elderly man turned to look at her, "Grandpa,"

"Ah, Lala! Come over here," the elderly guy motioned to Mia, entirely ignoring Adam, his face beaming. “It's been a while since i last saw you.”

Mia wasn't anxious now because grandpa didn't realize she was a fraud two years ago. She approached the elderly man with ease, crouching next to him and raising her lovely face to meet his loving look.

Old Master Bowen kept staring at her with much delight. "It's all this brat's fault," he said, expressing his gratitude. “After you got married, he abandoned you for almost two years. Don't worry, Lala—I'll break his legs if he tries to go again!”

"Well, if he bullies me, I'll tell you," Mia said, turning to face Adam and grinning.

"I won't let him bully you. I can discipline him."

"Grandpa.." After giving Mia a chilly look, Adam delivered grandpa the marriage certificate. "The thing you've been urging me for two years, I brought it to you today."

Mia examined the certification. Her heart skipped a beat! It was written with her name, not Nyla’s! Her secret was about to be revealed if grandpa looked at it!

Just then, her phone began to buzz. Her heart leaped to her neck, already stiff. Without even checking the caller ID, she swiftly pulled out her phone. After hanging up, she looked anxiously at grandpa with her amber eyes.

The marriage certificate was held by grandpa, who looked it over from beginning to end. He caressed it tenderly as though it were his own marriage license. His eyes were filled with an almost overwhelming smile. "Excellent! This is fantastic! At last.”

Mia’s eyes nearly popped out because she was so anxious .Her phone rang again at this same time. She immediately hit the side button to quiet the phone because she wasn't in the mood to answer the call. She then looked at grandpa  flipping the picture to the side, her eyes widening. She was destined to fail. She was destined to fail.

Grandpa then turned the page to the photo of her and Adam.

Mia felt her heart stiffen. She nearly fell to the floor. Her true identity was about to be revealed in this way.

She waited for grandpa to turn to her, maybe slap her, maybe shout for her and ask her why she deceived him…but instead, grandpa chuckled heartily as he studied the page, saying, "My granddaughter-in-law is absolutely lovely! I'm having the best day of my life, haha.”

Surprise. Surprise.

Grandpa then returned the marriage certificate to Adam after closing it.

"Be good to your wife from now on, ok?" He sternly advised Adam as Adam stretched out to accept it.

Adam smiled and nodded, putting the marriage license away. "Of course," he said. “Don't worry, Grandpa."

Mia’s heart finally calmed when she saw this scene. Just now, she was terrified. She was so terrified that her back started to perspire. She lowered her head, thinking of her phone, and noticed the screen remained on. The caller persisted. She sighed as she saw the caller ID on the screen.

She moved to the side to answer the phone after excusing herself from Adam and grandpa.

It was Nyla calling her.

"What, Nyla."

Nyla sounded irate over the phone, saying, "You little brat! Why did you not pick up when I called?"

Mia was furious, too. Nyla was able to disregard her calls when she attempted to contact her. Why couldn't she do the same thing?

"It wasn't convenient just now." Mia said.

"What could possibly be inconvenient for you?"

"There wasn't," Mia said, gritting her teeth. “However, there is now. Adam showed me his pals. He also took me to see his grandfather today. Should I’ve said, "Sister, I'm acting well like it’s you," when I answer your call in front of them?”

Nyla was rendered speechless. How could Mia, who had always been timid and afraid, suddenly become so self-assured?

"Adam took you to meet his friends?" Nyla asked, shifting the subject after a brief pause.

Mia responded icily, "Hmm."

"He treats you well, very gentle with you?" Nyla said, sounding a little envious as she considered Wendy’s post.

Mia recognized what Nyla was implying. "Yes, he treats me very well in public, as if we're deeply in love," she scoffed. “However, he is cruel and uncaring behind people's backs. He probably wouldn't even glance at me if he didn't want me to join him in his pretentious behavior.”

Mia wasn't lying about this. In her heart, Adam was just like this.

At last, Nyla exhaled deeply in relief. She smiled from where she sat and said on the phone, "well he really doesn't like women and just wants to have a wife to hide that fact of him being gay. I wonder why he can’t come out and tell everyone he’s gay.”

Suddenly, Mia heard a deep, familiar voice behind her ask, "Who are you speaking to? You've spent some time on the phone now.”

Mia pivoted. The phone abruptly hung up before she could think of an explanation. This time, like a cat with its tail trodden on, Nyla abruptly ended the call. Mia grinned, shocked that her powerful sister might occasionally experience fear as well. She didn't bother looking for any more justifications and raised her phone. She gave Adam a smile. "My sister, your supposed wife." Adam’s brows were slightly wrinkled. He approached and put his arm around her waist from behind. "If you don't want your dad to die sooner, watch your mouth!" he said in a loving whisper near her ears. Mia twitched her lips as she heard such harsh warning words while grinning at his attractive face. At that moment, a piercing pang shot through her waist.Adam then released her. He gave her a pinch!Did he still grab her waist after issuing the warning? She inhaled deeply, then again, forcing herself to repress all of her feelings. forgot about it! Adam intentionally did it! He intended to make her look foolish on purpose! How could this world contain such a vile man? Did he obtain the marriage certificate merely to make fun of her? Adam’s lips curved slightly as he saw her standing there, shocked, and said, "Ny, go on." Huff. Mia inhaled deeply while fighting the impulse to give him a strong slap across the face. She remained motionless, though. "What, do you want them to pay for you to play?" Adam asked again in jest. "No need!" Mia glared at him before gracefully turning around and making her way to the stage while her skirt swayed. She wouldn't allow him to shame her if that was his intention! What Adam didn't know was that she could play the piano, she was very good at it. When she and Nyla were little, their father taught them how to play. Mia only learned it for fun, while Nyla decided to become a pianist.Mia sat down next to the white piano, her thin fingers lightly touching the keys. She looked at Adam mockingly

Mia nearly passed out. For what reason did Adam still want to still get the marriage certificate? And with her? "But I'm not Nyla.." Adam glared at her, turned around, and made his way to the couch. He sat down, pulled out a cigarette, lighted it, and took a long drag before putting it back on his lips. "If you don't want to see your father dead, obey my orders," he said, blowing forth smoke. Mia couldn't say anything. Adam learnt to employ the same tactic that had previously only been used by her mother and sister to threaten her with her father. These individuals truly understood how to take advantage of her vulnerabilities! But she wasn't a moron. Adam’s meaning was clear to her. He would not reveal her as a replacement bride as long as she complied with him. If such were the case, neither her mother nor her sister would be aware that the scheme had failed. Her dad would also be secure. "Okay.”Adam didn't look pleased, so Mia dared not ask any more questions. She didn't want

"Let's go to the city’s court and get our marriage certificate tomorrow, now that I’m back.”"W-What?" Mia stared at Adam incredulously, so taken aback that she dropped the Tv remote she was holding on the floor. A certificate of marriage? Oh no! This is a big mistake. She became terrified. "Now, let's make up for our wedding night, too.” Adam said, ignoring her fear as he unzipped his white shirt and approached her. He returned suddenly when she least expected it at the wrong time, and as if that was not bad enough, he wanted them to made love. Mia’s eyes darted left and right as her breathing stopped. Abruptly, she noticed her phone on the table and retreated a step. She bent down and picked up the phone immediately. She smiled awkwardly and replied, "my phone hehe.”A flicker of coldness appeared in Adam’s eyes as he just observed her. It seems that he really disgusted his wife. But it’s been almost two years… shouldn’t she be excited to see him? Mia was afraid to even look at
