Ivy’s POV

Thomas, the twins and me set off for Grandma Susan’s. On the way I read about Theodore’s project. It’s a medicine made from ginko biloba, rosemary and lavender. He intends to manufacture pills that have showed much success with dementia.

I call Ryder. “Ryder, do everything you can to work out an agreement for Theodore’s project. I want it to happen.”

“Okay, Ivy. I’m on it. Travel safely. And I hope Grandma Susan is in good health when you find her.”

Thomas takes my hand. “Are you alr

Ivy’s POV I can’t believe what I’m seeing. I grab the paper from Theodore’s hand. It’s a paternity test for both the twins. It says it’s a 100% chance that neither of the children are his. How can that be? Tiffany pushes her face by mine. “You lose again, Ivy! You can lie and cheat all that you want but the truth always comes out!”“Fuck you, Tiffany!”“So you lied to me, Ivy?” Theodore says. He devastated.“Think what you want!” I shove the paper back into his hand. “You always think the worst about me anyway, Theodore!”Ryder takes my arm. “We’re going.”He nearly drags me away while the people stare and shout rude things at me. Theodore, Tiffany and the Sterlings follow us to the car.“Leave and never come back here you lying bitch!” Ethan says. How did I ever think he was a father who loved me?Grace is crying. “Ivy, you truly are evil! Destroying such a beautiful day for my dear sweet daughter Tiffany.”“I did nothing!” I want to explain but then think —why should I? I owe the

Ivy’s POVAt the meeting we quickly sign the papers. I need Theodore gone. What happened in the garden is still reverberating in my body. I ache for him. I need to be away from him, far away.I say little in the meeting and am happy when he’s quickly in his car and gone.“Finally!” Ryder says. “We can leave in the morning.”“Yes...we can leave in the morning….” My mind is elsewhere. Leaving means what I said: I will never see Theodore again. How will I manage that? How will I survive?I go in the house. I need some whiskey to calm my nerves. Everyone has gone off to bed and I sit and drink trying to sort my mind. I’m free! Why don’t I feel free? I feel trapped. Trapped in my need. Trapped in my lies.I go out to the car and get in. A security guard comes to me. “Princess, where are you going?”“I need to go to the Alpha. He forgot something.”I drive out with a security detail following me to Theodore’s. The alcohol is hitting me and I should probably go back to the villa, but I need

Theo’s POV I managed to keep Ivy here for another night thanks to Tiffany’s madness. She bought an engagement ring for herself so that she could put on that stunt for Ivy. Apparently she even told her family that we’re engaged. It would have annoyed me a lot but it worked in my favour this time. Ivy had to stay another night so I got a bit more time.I called the paternity testing place and they said the results will be out before they close in the evening. Now it’s for me to postpone the meeting until night. I know Ivy will be livid but I must. They will need to spend another night at the villa and leave tomorrow morning.I’m at breakfast alone and my phone rings. Conveniently it’s Ivy.“So when are we meeting today? I hoped it would be this morning,” she says.“Ivy, I feel terrible about all of this. I thought by now the agreement would be signed and you’d be gone. My day is booked with back-to- back meetings. I can only meet tonight to sign the papers. Maybe about 7 pm.”“That’s

Ivy’s POVWe arrive back at the villa after midnight. I’m so exhausted, both physically and mentally.Ryder comes out to the car. “How was everything?”“Good and bad. Can we talk tomorrow? I’m so tired,” I say.“That’s fine.” I can see Ryder is not fine though.“What’s up?” I ask as Thomas carries the sleeping twins to their bed.“I think Theodore is protecting Jonathan. I wanted to go and search for the asshole and teach him a lesson and the Alpha basically said I’d be arrested if I interfered.”“Ryder, it doesn’t matter. Tiffany was behind the break-in in any case. Jonathan only operates on her instructions. Killing Jonathan will help nothing. I suspect Theodore knows that too.”Ryder considers what I’ve said. “Then he must get his Luna under control!”“Tiffany wants one thing— me gone and herself officially and firmly the Luna. We actually want the same thing if she would only understand that. But now we have a big problem.”“What’s that?”“Tiffany will know about the twins now tha

Theodore’s POVIvy and the children leave for Grandma Susan’s and we try to finish the negotiations in the evening.“So did you get the data that you needed?” I ask Ryder.“Unfortunately not. They’re working on it at Ice Moon. They promise me it will be no later than tomorrow afternoon.”“Ivy will not be pleased. She will not want to spend another night here,” I say. Though I want to keep her here until the paternity tests come though, so it works in my favour.“Have you told her?” I ask him.“Yes, she knows. They’re on their way back. She knows we’ll sleep here.” Ryder says. “Keep your security in place until we have left for home.”I bulk at his orders. Is he forgetting who I am? “I was going to do that. I don’t need to be ordered by a security guard from Ice Moon.”He ignores my words. “Tonight I want to look for Jonathan Sterling. I need to teach him a few things. I hope you will keep your police out of my way.”“I won’t allow that,” I tell him. “I told you clearly that I will d

I’m angry Theodore didn’t tell me about Grandma Susan right away. Who knows what has happened during all of this time?”“We’ll deal with it when we get there. Don’t worry in advance. I’m here to help.”“Thank you, Thomas. You’re lovely.” I kiss him and sit back in the car seat and do exactly what he as advised—relax and stop worrying.***After about an hour we pull up at the sweet cosy cottage at the edge of the forest that I used to live in with Grandma Susan.
