CHAPTER 40: REDEMPTION
Kurt impatiently waited for the bus to arrive at its designated stop. He would run towards Chris’ house if he needs to, but he knows that commuting will be lot faster. He dashed his way out of the bus and towards Chris’s house. He even bumped to some people because of his rush.
He kept on calling Chris on his way but his phone is already turned off.
“What is wrong with you?!” he exclaimed as he catches his breath. He’s still trying to walk as fast as he can. Kurt eventually arrived at Chris’ house, he pressed the doorbell numerous times but no one responded. Kurt’s heart is beating fast, both from running like crazy and from worry. He sighed, he has no other choice then. He punched the passcode to open the gates. It was disclosed to him by Chris ages ago.
He run towards the front door and he found it open. He pushed the door and entered inside.

Two days have passed. Chris is already bothered because he can't contact both his parents. He’s been trying to message them but he got no response after his mother said that they have an emergency meeting so they will come home late. ‘So this is how it feels…’Random thoughts kept lingering on Chris’ mind, as if someone else is controlling it. He sees several memories, some happy, and most are the saddest moments of his life. “Please take your seats.” The man inside said. Chris politely sat, he’s not nervous as he was earlier but he still can’t do eye contact to any of them. Chris fixed his tie as they prepare for the funeral. The wake is over and the funeral is quickly held. Some of Chris’s classmates are present and most are his parents’ colleagues. He tried hard to memorize each faces that came to his parents wake so he would know if there are new faces that would attend the funeral.
