Chapter 6/Team

Friday, the best day of the week, next to Saturday.

Well, at least for Sabrina.

For her, Friday is the only day in the week when you can chill and do whatever you want (especially during nighttime) without worrying about work or school the next day.

Friday is also the day before Saturday, and that's a plus.

Numerous people have their own different favorite day of the week that isn't Friday and if you're one of those people, I totally respect your opinion.

Though, don't ever dare differ when you're talking to Sabrina Clarke about this matter because she's just going to shove your argument deep in the ass.

Yeah, she loves Friday that much.

It's been exactly a week since the last time she saw Shawn, and they haven't spoken to each other since.

You might be wondering what the heaven it is she's doing right now.

Well, she's just doing the same thing that she's been doing since Zachary got her to share a specialized office with Scott.

Avoiding the awkwardness.

Yeah, she's been doing that for an entire week now.

Though, there's still so much more to life than just avoiding your high school ex-boyfriend.

She's a lawyer, and she had a job to do.

After that magazine that said that she was the new lawyer of the biggest real estate company in Colorado was published, she had received a few clients, and she has been working really hard on their cases.

But that doesn't mean that she isn't prioritizing Shawn's anymore.

Sitting in her desk facing the city views, Sabrina went through pages of the evidences that she found exactly a month prior while connecting the dots.

Who knew that taking down menaces can be that hard.

She was so busy and caught up doing exactly that then out of the blues, her phone rang.

“Hello?” Said Sabrina, picking up the phone without even bothering to look at the caller ID.

“Good afternoon, Ms. Clarke, I hope I'm not interrupting something.” A familiar voice that she would never forget spoke on the other line.

“Oh, it's you and no, you're not interrupting something.” She replied looking down at the paperwork's on her desk, totally lying.

Again.

“Oh, thank god, do you have any plans tonight?” Shawn asked, which formed a smirk on the blonde's face.

“No, why?” She asked flirtatiously, exactly knowing that this is just probably about business and nothing personal.

“I'm hosting a party downtown tonight, and you really need to come.” He said casually, not giving in to the flirtatiousness of the girl's voice.

He just wants the best for his company, for Lucifer's sake.

“And why do I need to come?” She asked seductively.

Shawn knew that playing Sabrina's little game is like walking into a lion's den as a prank.

When you're in, everything seemed so fun and exciting. But once the opponent attacked, you'll just want to declare lose and go home without looking back.

And that's the beginning of his problems.

Shawn doesn't want to be a loser.

We all can blame his family's competitive gene for that.

He's going to do everything just to win, and he certainly isn't going to reject a game invitation from someone who's only 5 foot tall.

So without a second thought, he's in the game.

“After the party we need to go somewhere,” He answered, “Somewhere private.” He added playing in, whispering the last word seductively.

“Private eh?” She said with the same amount of seduction.

“Private.” He replied, feeling things down there.

This girl certainly knew her game.

“Mm… Well, I have to dress for the occasion, don't I?” She asked even though she already knew the answer.

“You should.” He replied, biting his bottom lip on the other line.

“In that case, do you have any suggestions?” She asked alluringly, and that's when every ounce of sanity he had gone bye bye.

He never liked being the loser, but declaring

defeat on this one doesn't feel so bad

.

“Something revealing, but not too much,” He said, letting the devil in his mind rule. “I prefer something that can compliment your body well enough, you shouldn't hide masterpieces away from me love .” He added, totally forgetting the reason why he called her.

“I'm sure I can find something.” She replied with a smirk, playing with the pen on her desk.

“If that so, I'll see you at eight.” He said gaining a little control over himself.

“I'll be there.” She said temptingly before ending the call.

She knew that she won, and the fact that someone as decent as Shawn fell for that was like something she's proud of.

Her inner self beamed at that.

The day just got way better.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The party's finally over and Shawn and Sabrina are now talking at a hallway.

Unlike their previous conversation earlier, they were talking professionally and neither of them brought up their previous “inappropriate” conversation.

The stares and glances are still something, though.

“So, let's get this straight,” Shawn said after a few minutes of talking. “You remembered that time when I told you that we need to met and work on this case as a team?” He added.

“The one in your office? Yeah.” She replied, thinking about the things that almost happened there.

Almost.

“Well, we do.” He replied looking around, probably checking If somebody was around.

“Now? Here?” She asked, and he nodded then held out his hand for her to take, and so she did.

They walked quietly together hands intertwined around in maze-like hallways, and after a few minutes they stopped on what seems to be an entrance of a basement.

Of course, she thought to herself.

Everything's so private and controversial.

She was about to say something, but Shawn quickly put his index finger in front of her lips, clearly telling her to be quiet and not say anything.

Letting go of her hand, he opened the entrance and signalled Sabrina to come along.

Once she was inside, she saw three guys.

One of them is Scott, but she had no idea on whose the other two.

“They're here.” One of the unfamiliar guys said once he saw them.

He has gorgeous blue eyes that go well with his honey blonde hair.

“I'm Ivan, nice to met you, Sabrina.” The other guy said extending his hand, probably for her to shake.

Not wanting to be rude, she shook it.

“Nice to met you too,” She said, shaking his hand. “Though how'd you know my name?” She asked him, but he isn't the one who answered.

“They're my agents, and since you're my lawyer, and you're a part of this case, they need to know stuff about you.” Said Shawn. “I'm supposed to tell you about them too, but I never really got the chance, so I just waited for this.” He added.

Then out of nowhere, a familiar voice Sabrina would always beg to listen to spoke.

“Well, that explains it all.” The familiar voice said.

“Aria?” Asked Sabrina kind of shocked,

turning around.

She clearly wasn't expecting this.

“Hell yeah it's me, bitch!” The younger girl exclaimed, running towards her before engulfing her in a hug.

She thought this was it, but then another familiar voice with an accent spoke.

“You really need to minimize cussing in every word that you say, Ar.” The other familiar voice said out of nowhere.

Sabrina can never forget that voice, so she exactly knew who owned it.

“Everett?” She asked, still not letting go of her cousin.

“Nice to see you again, Sabrina.” He spoke with his usual British accent as she smiled in exchange.

It's about time to talk about business.
