Chapter 7/Real estate

A typical Sunday morning for Sabrina is when she wakes up at seven, go to Starbucks, get her cappuccino coffee, and spend the rest of the morning alone.

Though, today isn't one of those typical Sunday mornings.

Taking a bite of her donut, Sabrina listened to Igor and Ivan talk about random stuff.

Apparently, they invited her to have breakfast with them and discuss business.

Alas!

They haven't mentioned that since they got there.

Basically, it was just them and Sabrina hanging out like buds.

“So Blondie,” Ivan said, using the nickname he created for Sabrina the first time he saw her, making her instantly get out of her thoughts. “When did you start working as a lawyer?” He added with curiosity evident in his voice.

This is a question that she has gotten use to being asked by now.

“Last week.” She proudly answered, setting her donut down.

“Really?” He asked shocked as Igor also showed sign of interest, but he kept quiet.

One thing that Sabrina learned about them (even though she only met them like 3 days ago) is that Ivan, was the social one who starts conversations and loves talking a lot While Igor, on the other hand, was the total opposite. He won't say anything at all if you don't specifically talk to him.

Even though, sometimes it's clear that he's listening.

They both have their differences, but those differences are one of the things that makes them even more attractive.

Soon enough, they started discussing business just like what this little breakfast date is supposed to be all about, but they were talking cryptically about it since they were in public and strangers passing by can basically hear their conversation.

All three of them are talking but not long enough, Igor shut up and started acting strange.

He kept looking at something that Sabrina couldn't care enough to look at despite her curiosity. The only thing that she cares about at the moment is how hot he looks as he's doing this, so.

The way his blue eyes radiated, and the way his jaw clenched, is just a scene that she cannot take her eyes off.

But before she can even start fantasizing about him, Ivan once again started a topic that she can't avoid.

Besides, this is just temporary, she'll get back to Igor.

Hopefully.

Sabrina and Ivan started talking about interesting stuff again, but later on, Igor stood up and signalled them to do the same gesture.

And At that moment, they knew that something's seriously up.

They both knew that Igor doesn't like attention, and he wouldn't do this kind of stuff because of some shit.

As confused as they were, they chose to stand up and just follow his lead.

He walked out of the café, and entered his car, and so they followed. Once everyone was in and the doors and windows were tightly shut, he talked.

“Those are the guys.” Said Igor while pointing at two guys wearing a coat inside the café.

The people that he was pointing at were facing them backwards, so Sabrina couldn't really see their faces, but when they did look forward, realization hit her like a big block of ice.

“One of them were with Arnold and Dean on some videos and photos that Mr. Turner made me go through last week,” Sabrina pointed out. “The other one I clearly have no idea, though.” She added, still not getting her gaze off the guys.

As she's doing this, Igor can't help but look at her with admiration.

She literally looked like a curious kid watching a magic trick.

The way her eyebrows furrowed and the way her Ocean eyes shifts is just something that Igor finds so innocent.

But of course, Sabrina Clarke was anything but innocent.

Let that mouth of hers speak, and things will get heated within a second.

“Yeah, and you know what that means, baby girl?” Ivan asked, putting his arm over the girl's shoulder.

It is a bit weird, but Ivan really liked calling everyone around him using pet names.

It wasn't just her, heck, he called the CEO of the biggest real estate company in Colorado Shawnito.

The fact that Shawn hasn't fired him yet is quite questionable, considering how mad he was when he called him that.

No matter how good your name is, Ivan Evgeny would always ruin it with a pet name for you.

“First, I would really appreciate it if you could just stop calling me using your pet names, and secondly, No.” She said removing his hand off her shoulders, clearly clueless of what he was pointing out.

He chuckled at that.

“What I'm saying is, since we already had a lead, maybe we can start doing our jobs now.” Said Ivan, and that's when she understood it all.

She smiled.

“Oh yeah.” Sabrina said with a mischievous grin.

“I Know that look.” Igor said, smiling looking at her.

“Time to kick some ass lads.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“You've got to be kidding me.” Sabrina spoke out loud after the guys' car entered her brother Elijah's property, which is a real estate residence.

Apparently, they've been following the guys for exactly two hours now.

After the guys got out of the café, they've been following them since. They went to mysterious places, and out of those places they chose to stop here.

At fucking Elijah Clarke's property.

“This is Elijah Clarke's property.” Igor spoke looking at the window following the car's movement which stopped at one of the houses just a few blocks away from them.

“Yeah, what the fuck are they even doing here, doesn't make sense” Ivan said with his usual Russian accent.

“Isn't Elijah Clarke your brother, though?” Igor asked, looking at Sabrina through the rearview mirror.

“Yeah, he is.” She replied.

“Can we go inside?” Asked Igor.

“Yes we can,” Sabrina answered, “We need a plan though.” She added, turning her head towards the two Russian guys.

“What do you have in mind?” Asked Ivan, shifting from his seat.

“You go inside and keep an eye on those two while Igor and I go to the office on the left corner where the real estate agents that works here do their other work when they're not taking a possible buyer on a house tour, and we'll dig information about the owner of that house.” Said Sabrina explaining her plan as both guys nodded their head, clearly listening.

“That good with you Van?” Igor asked Ivan.

“Heck yeah,” Ivan said triumphantly. “Once you guys are done met me here in this exact location, you two better not do anything, though.” He added warningly looking at the two.

“Ivan!” Sabrina said in disgust, exactly knowing what he meant by that.

“Get out here, you moron!” Igor said completely embarrassed from his friend's remark, slapping the back of his head before forcefully pushing him out of the car.

Despite all of this, Ivan being Ivan, just laughed like there's no tomorrow while walking away.

“Shou- should we walk or bring the car to the office?” Igor asked slightly stuttering, still embarrassed from his friend's actions.

“Let's take the car.” Sabrina replied also embarrassed looking away, covering her red cheeks with her golden locks.

“Okay.” Igor replied, starting the car before driving away.

The whole drive was silent, neither one of them said a word.

But who would?!

Fortunately, the office that Sabrina was talking about wasn't that far away from their previous location.

Once they got there, Sabrina got inside and just told Igor to wait in the car. She took a whole two minutes before coming back.

“So?” Igor asked when she came back.

“Come on.” Sabrina said, opening his car door before pulling him out.

“What are you doing?” He asked, completely weirded out by the girl's action.

“Mrs. Hardwell asked me to just go and get the documents on the brick building next door.” She answered as he nodded.

“That?” He said, pointing out on a brick building next to the one that Sabrina just entered.

“Yeah,” She replied. “Now let's go.” She added grabbing his hand.

They entered the building and as soon as they were inside, Sabrina let go of his hand and started opening the drawers as Igor just stood there, not daring to touch anything.

Igor, find it odd on how just Sabrina could do things that might possibly be illegal without even caring about it considering the fact that she was a lawyer.

She's supposed to fix the law as a lawyer and not break it.

Sabrina Clarke is just full of oddities.

“Did they give you permission to go here, Ms. Clarke?” He asked, worried that they just broke here illegally.

“Yes,” She answered swiftly not even bothering to look at him getting a folder out of a drawer before opening it and looking for what she was looking for which is the information about the house where the guys went. “305, 305, 305, found it!” She added triumphantly.

“Really?” Igor said, walking towards the girl. “Well, that was fast.” He added, leaning on the counter looking at the envelope.

“Yeah.” Said Sabrina, reading the file with a smile.

Everything about the file was fairly normal, but one thing clearly caught her attention which made the cute little smile on her angelic face vanish.

“What's wrong?” Asked Igor, baffled with the girl's sudden change of expression.

“The house was named after Brandon,” She answered, running a hand through her hair. “I clearly have no idea if those guys are connected to him, or maybe they're just trespassing, though that's debatable. If you're wondering who's Brandon, he's one of my brothers, he has numerous houses her in Colorado, and I've been to all of them, but I haven't be-” she added but was quickly cut off by an angry woman yelling at them.

“Who are you and what are you doing here?!” Yelled the woman.

And At that moment, Igor was scared as fuck.

But of course, unlike him, Sabrina wasn't.

What's even there to be scared about, anyway?

Her brother owned this, she's related to him,, and she's pretty sure that she's more than welcomed to come here.

And nope, Sabrina Isn't just saying that.

Elijah really did say many times that she was more than welcomed to come here.

“I'm Sabrina Clarke, the only sister of Elijah Clarke, and I'm expecting that you already know that my brother owned this property, ” Sabrina answered proudly with a bit of ego. “And I'm here because I want to.” She added with her usual sass, crossing her arms on her chest with her eyebrows raised.

“The woman who wanted to murder us just a few minutes ago, to be exact.” Said Sabrina.

“Fair enough.” He said, giving her a side look before starting the car and driving away.

Igor parked his car at their previous spot waiting for Ivan to come back just like what he instructed them both to do earlier, and when Ivan didn't come back within the next 10 minutes he decided to just check by going into the house where the guys went to see if he was okay.

And undoubtedly Sabrina came along.

Breaking into someone's house without their consent is illegal.

But would it be less illegal if there are already people inside who possibly broke in illegally too? Well, No.

Not at all.

When they got into the house, they knocked on the door and when no one answered, Sabrina just made her way inside because the door wasn't really locked.

Igor stopped her, of course.

But Sabrina begged to differ, and he doesn't honestly have much of a choice.

Undoubtedly, they went inside.

The insides of the house was stunning. Everything was in order and things inside were normal, unlike what they expected it to be, but as soon as Igor saw Ivan hiding near the chimney he knew that something was seriously wrong.

Even though he can't hear what Ivan was saying, based on his body language, it's pretty clear that he doesn't want them there at that exact moment.

Grabbing Sabrina's arms ready to leave, Igor heard running from the distance and when he looked at Ivan's previous position he wasn't there anymore

His heart started beating faster.

Everything around him just stopped when he turned to see that Sabrina wasn't also there at her previous position.

Instead, there was a man pointing a knife right at him.

He reacted quickly by trying to get the knife from the man, but the man quickly gave him a cut on his left cheek before he can even cause any harm.

The next thing he knew is that he was already held captive.

“Move and you're dead.” Said the man tightly holding him.

He was experiencing a mix of emotions.

But he knew better than to let his emotions take over him.

He was about to say something, but everything went so fast that the next thing he knew is that the man who was previously holding him captive was laying and grunting conscious on the cold hard ground.

The moment that the man let him go, Igor instantly got up and looked for his partners.

Shifting his eyes around, his gaze landed on Ivan and Sabrina.

“Tell me what you know about Arnold and Dean.” Said Ivan, holding the grunting man's collar as Sabrina just stood there catching her breath.

“I don't know what you're talking about.” The man replied, completely lying.

When that came out of his mouth, Ivan looked at Sabrina, and Sabrina returned the same look to him.

“Oh well, you gave us no choice then.” Said Sabrina grabbing the knife that the man was previously holding before sitting beside him, gently tracing patterns with it on his skin.

Both guys see it as a turn on the way that she was sitting there with a knife tracing patterns on her rival's skin.

Her bruised lip didn't help at all too.

“You know that handsome face of yours can be used for so many good things,” Sabrina said sexily, biting her bottom lip at the process while tracing patterns on the man's left cheek. “But too bad that you did the opposite.” She added now digging the knife into his skin.

And that's when he cracked.

“Stop, ma- make it stop!” Cried the man as Sabrina digged deeper into his skin. “I- I'll tell you everything you wanted to know, j- just make it stop goddammit!” He added, begging Sabrina to stop with her unpleasant work on his skin.

Hearing that request made her stop.

But she wasn't done yet.

“Then tell us,” Command Sabrina. “Are you connected to Arnold Dennis and Dean Roderick?” She added.

“Yes.” Said the man swiftly giving her exactly what she wanted, scared of what she might do next.

“Then tell me, are they the one behind the Turner Organization's fall?!” Asked Sabrina a little loud now holding the man's collar looking dangerously deep into his eyes.

“Yes they are bu- but it's not just them, other bigger people an- are behind all of this.” The man said, wincing in pain.

“Then tell me, where do they meet? And don't you even dare lie because when I found out that you do, I swear to God that you're going to regret the day you were born.” The blonde said very seriously, clearly wanting her answers.

The man knew that he was in deep shit.

It's either tell or die, so he just gave the girl what she wanted even though that meant he too is getting himself into another deep shit.

“At a five-star re- restaurant at bre- Breckenridge, an hour and half away outside Denver.” The man answered trembling.

Sabrina Clarke got the answers that she needed, and with that, she stood up now acknowledging the presence of her partners.

They just stared at each other for a bit, processing everything that just happened.

But Igor broke that.

Clearing his throat, he walked towards Sabrina.

“Are you okay?” He asked, quietly checking her out to see if she was hurt physically.

He was concerned about her and she knew that.

“Yeah, you?” She answered, then returned the same question.

She's concerned about him too, and he knew that.

“Same.” He replied.

They stayed like that for a while just appreciating each other's presence.

But of course, someone just had to ruin that.

“Oh yeah, I'm fine too if you wonder,” Ivan said sarcastically out of nowhere. “And yeah, I haven't forgotten about you two.” He added with the same amount of sarcasm.

As much as they want to avoid admitting that they indeed forget about him, they're also not going to deny the fact that sometimes he can just be a pain in the ass.

“Oh shut up.” They both said at the same time, as Ivan faked a hurt expression.

“So, What are we going to do with him?” Said Sabrina, looking at the defeated man on the floor.

“Don't worry,” Igor said, stepping in front of her.

“This one's mine.”
