Greetings, my family and friends. Like many of you sitting out there in the quiet, stealing moments away from the humdrum of the ordinary world, I have a deep, burning obsession with reading paranormal romance and writing my own supernatural tales. I truly hope you’re here tonight because you love those wild, dangerous, magical worlds just as much as I do. If that’s the case, go on and settle in, pour yourself something warm, and let the chaos of the day fade away. I have a story that changes the way you view the supernatural world. One that’s steeped in thick Southern grit, wrapped in the elegance of high-court royalty, and driven by a taste of pure, unadulterated power.

My name is Storma. I am twenty-three years old, and in the eyes of my people, I am a fairy vampire Princess.

Now, do me a favor right now and don't go picturing some fragile, delicate creature made of soft pastel glitter and harmless pixie dust. Our magic doesn't belong in a child's storybook; it runs a whole lot deeper, darker, and more terrifyingly potent than those sanitized human fairy tales suggest. We don't just sprinkle dust; we command the elements, control the shadows, and govern the literal pulse of the night. Human lore loves to spread the lie that fairies are nothing but cunning, conniving, hyper-sexual creatures who only seek their own personal gain. Let me assure you right now, that is not true. At least not where my family is concerned. We are fiercely compassionate, driven by an unquenchable thirst for adventure, and we possess an undeniable, bone-chilling power that keeps our borders secure and our enemies at bay.

Though I carry the title of royalty, I am not the one destined to inherit the heavy weight of the crown. I am the youngest of six kids, a tight-knit, fiercely loyal coven composed of Winternight, Raina, Summa, Augus, Frostly, and myself. Our ages span from twenty-eight down to my twenty-three, with the two oldest being fraternal twinst born into an elite status. You might notice a very deliberate, ancient pattern among us: we girls all bear names ending strictly in the letter A. There is a deep, foundational magic bound to that single vowel. It honors our father, King Anthos, the formidable and commanding ruler of the Fae-vampire Kingdom of Artemis-Hellcat. But it also marks an unyielding destiny. The daughters of our line are the ones born to eventually expand our bloodlines, destined by the stars to leave our borders and join our fated magical mates wherever they may dwell.

My mother is Queen Anna, a fierce, breathtaking royal who hailed from the ancient, blood-bound vampire kingdom of HellCat.

To the human world, a union between a fairy King and a vampire Queen sounds like a horrible , bloody nightmare. But the heart demands what it wants, and out here, magic always bows to desire. We live in a progressive, modern era where the mixing of Fae and Vampire blood isn't just accepte. It's celebrated as a gilded fusion. It bridges the gap between day and night supernaturals, forging a stronger, more resilient community that can weather any storm. My homeland is a massive empire created by the merging of Artemis and HellCat. Two distinct, powerhouse Kingdoms stitched together by ancient, unbreakable enchantments into a singular, sprawling superpower.

To the supernatural world, being twenty-three and unmatched might seem like a tragic waste of youth. But our lifespans stretch across a millennium. We have over a thousand years to live, bleed, and love, so remaining single for centuries is completely normal and never frowned upon. Because my parents had already achieved the exact, sacred number of children usually granted to magical mates, they never truly expected me to join the hunt. I’ve always been showered with special treatment, utterly spoiled by my older brothers and sisters, and sheltered from the heavy political burdens of the court.

Yet, even in a golden age, true darkness always finds a way to ruin a perfect world.

Not everyone embraces the beautiful union of my mother and father. A bitter, dark faction of traditionalist fairies, vampires, Angels, Demons, and wolves. Hate the mixing of our bloodlines, viewing our existence as an abomination. They broke away, and moved to a continent and made a demon there King. That would be King Lucifer. Just a few miles across the eastern sea known as the Island of Darkest Intentions. So live side by side. They look down on everyone that believes in equal rights. They believe in staying pure bloods and living like cavemen.

Their views are deeply root away from freedom of speech, the independence of women, the right to choose your own path. They are trapped in a stagnant, ancient era where men rule with an iron fist, and women are kept hidden away in the dark, restricted to cooking, cleaning, and bearing pure-blooded children. But don't get me wrong they are not abusive to their magical mates or enjoy hurting the innocence. They represent a dangerous, looming past. One that watches our thriving, progressive kingdom with disgust and judgment. Just waiting for us to fail.

But tonight, the dark traditionalists are the last thing on our minds. Tonight, the heavy palace gates are finally opening, breaking the high-summer humidity with a rush of excitement.

My family is hosting the Grand Summer Solstice Magical Ball. This is our first mating ball because my siblings wanted to wait till I was old enough to attend the ball. Because they felt it would be more magical if we experience this together. Now enough explaining and let's get the party started. The air inside the castle is thick with anticipation, heavy perfume, and velvet shadows. Right now, behind closed doors, my siblings are all animated, vibrant, and pacing the polished floors. We have been doing something highly unethical. We've been keeping our supernatural spirits completely quiet and reserved for months, intentionally hoarding every single drop of our energy for this exact night, saving it all to unleash a wall of pure family power when we make our grand entrance down the stairs.

This ball will be our very first time attending the mating hunt in search of a potential magical mate. My inner vampire and fairy spirits are locked down tight, resting in the shadows of my mind, waiting for the exact moment the herald calls our names.

The melody shifted, no longer a mere invitation, but a command that vibrated in the very marrow of my bones. The preparation was complete, but the true test lay just beyond the threshold of the grand hall. I took a breath, letting the anticipation sharpen my senses, and stepped forward, ready to face whatever awaited me as the story truly began."

The cold mountain wind howled against the jagged stone exterior of the northern villa, driving a fine, abrasive sleet across the dark slate roof and plastering patches of wet snow against the tall arrow-slit windows. Inside, however, the atmosphere was thick, humid, and heavy with the suffocating smell of scorched ozone, melting candle wax, and old sulfur.Valerius paced the length of the grand chamber, his heavy iron-topped boots striking the marble flags with a rhythmic, impatient snap that echoed loudly in the cavernous space. The sprawling estate, once the private, heavily guarded sanctum of the man the world knew as Vice, still bore the eerie quiet of an abandoned tomb, with dust sheets draped over forgotten furniture and a lingering chill in the air. But Valerius was rapidly changing that, breathing a violent new life into the desolate halls."Can you feel the wards taking hold along the western wall?" Valerius murmured, pausing near a towering stained-glass window where the moo

The heavy oak doors of the grand hall creaked open, admitting a wedge of pale morning light that did little to dispel the chill lingering in the stone. Alpha Dustin stood at the threshold, his boots echoing sharply against the flags, with Alpha Luna Storma close at his heels, her sharp eyes scanning every shadow for concealed threats. Around the long table, the atmosphere was thick enough to choke on. Dustin and Storma stood at the head of the table, their shoulders squared, a commanding presence radiating from them. Beside them, Lucifer and Seraphina offered quiet support, a unified front for the sake of the realm. Lucifer looked at the gathered delegates and spoke, the gold-toned light of his restored spirit faintly visible beneath his skin. "You called us here, High Alphas," Lucifer began, his voice steady and low, cutting through the tense silence. A murmur rippled through the seated delegates. Representatives from the eastern packlands and the southern clans shifted uncomfort

The dawn's first light filtered through the heavy drapes, casting a soft glow over the room where Lucifer and Seraphina lay entwined. The shadows that had plagued them for centuries were gone, replaced by a profound peace that settled deep in their bones. Their souls, the ancient celestial spirits that resided within them, were finally in sync, humming with a frequency of restored balance."The darkness is finally quiet, my love," Lucifer's inner spirit echoed, a golden resonance vibrating against the physical reality of his human heart.Seraphina's entity shimmered in response, a soft ethereal light manifesting in her eyes even as she remained human. "The curse is broken. But the world is still fractured, Lucifer. We have a mountain to climb to bring all six kingdoms together. Our people are exhausted, and the wounds of the past are deep."Lucifer sat up, his human face etched with a newfound clarity. He felt the weight of his purity. The long lost essence of his younger self was ret

The war room was a cavernous tomb of obsidian and shadow, illuminated only by the frantic, orange stutter of torches mounted in iron rings. The air tasted of ozone and stale violence. Vice sat at the head of the slab-like table, his fingers digging into the polished volcanic stone until his knuckles turned the color of bone. The phantom echoes of the High Alphas’ power, a seismic roar that had leveled the very foundations of the courtyard, still thrummed in the marrow of his ribs. It was a humiliation that burned deeper than any blade. He did not look up when the heavy iron doors groaned open, the sound echoing like a dying beast. The Dragon stepped into the flickering light, his armor pitted by alchemical fire, his face a mask of bitter, dirt-streaked grimness.Well, damn it all, the Dragon spat. He heaved his broadsword onto the table with a sound like a thunderclap, the steel ringing against the obsidian. They had the whole thing locked down tight. Not just a perimeter, it was a sh

The deafening roar of the thousands gathered in the grand plaza rose up like a physical wave, cresting over the white marble balustrades and slamming into the deep, shaded recesses of the eastern colonnade. Every cheer, every blast of ceremonial brass horns, and every rhythmic chant of the crowd twisted like a jagged piece of glass in Lucifer Junior’s chest. The plaza below was a sea of vivid color, packed shoulder to shoulder with velvet banners of midnight blue and silver whipping violently in the warm wind. Polished silver braziers lined the wide stone walkways, sending thick plumes of sweet jasmine smoke into the bright sky, a scent meant to signify purity and new beginnings. To Lucifer Jr., it smelled like a funeral. He paced the length of the marble walkway like a caged beast, his heavy black leather boots striking the stone with a rhythmic, lethal snap. The shadows seemed to cling to his sharp shoulders, stretching and warping with every step he took, mimicking the chaotic stor

The final echoes of the procession music were just beginning to blend with the heavy, distant rumble of the retreating solstice storm. Dustin and Storma had already transitioned down the long, formal path leading away from the pavilion, their hands still tightly joined as the liquid gold of their mate bond trailed behind them like a vibrant ribbon of light. They had completely cleared the rows of bended knees and bowed heads, stepping off the main pavilion lawn and approaching the towering wrought-iron gates of the regular castle. They had just passed the gnarled, twisting bark of the ancient oak tree, leaving Lucifer Junior standing in the fading shadows of his own analytical defeat just a few feet behind them. The elite guests of the six kingdoms were already letting out collective sighs of relief, beginning to rise and dust off their heavy silks.Suddenly, a voice of absolute, crystalline authority cut cleanly across the vast open grounds from the front row of the pavilion seating.
