James
I contemplated calling this anonymous number for many reasons but his accusation of me being a fraud was not called for. I have never been a fraud in my life and being a detective is an honor because I get to follow in my father’s footsteps and make him proud. He was honorable and served the city to his dying breath and here he is calling me a fraud.
“What did you just say?” I asked.
“You heard me,” he scoffed, “I know you pretended to be with her so you could stab her in the back,” he sounded angry.
“Look whoever you are, you have the wrong person. I have never been a fraud nor do I want to be one so whatever you think you know is wrong. You should stop wasting my time with your accusations. If you have a problem with how I do my job feel free to file a complaint with the departmen
Kioni I had a nightmare last night and Nick comforting me didn’t make me feel safe. I felt like a caged bird whose wings have been clipped and I need to be free. I felt tired and angry and I needed space but Nick wouldn’t let me have a moment to myself. “Baby, please open the door. Let’s talk about it,” he pleaded. “Not now, Nick,” I stood firm with my decision, "I need a moment to myself.” I had locked myself in the bathroom and was refusing to open the door for him. I might have been acting immature but I needed a moment to think for myself. I needed a clear head especially after the dream I had. It felt real, something that had happened to me before. “Honey, please,” there was a pause for a while, “Come back to bed it’s still too early. Pl
Kioni I felt like a school kid, called into the principal’s office as I squirmed and shifted on the sofa as doctor Singa looked at me. I didn’t know where to begin because I was still confused by everything. I played with the sleeves of my hoodie. “Why don’t you tell me about your day yesterday,” he asked. “It was the same as always,” I responded before I fell silent. “I can tell by your response that something happened?” he spoke as I looked up at him catching him fixing his glasses as he continued, “Yesterday when I left you had discovered that Nick makes you happy and when I spoke to him this morning he seemed worried about you,” “I know and I feel bad about it,” I sighed. “But?” he urged as h
Nick Ki was the only person capable of bringing out all the emotions in me. She could bring out the best and the worst in me. I had been the best version of myself for her and I believed I had made progress and now she was forcing my hand. I needed to make her forget about James and if it meant I have to do shock therapy on her so the memories finally vanish for good I would. I couldn’t focus on anything else because I needed to make sure she doesn’t get more memories later on. I needed to get her subdued immediately. I don’t care about anything else that they are talking about because the feelings she has to develop are supposed to be for me alone. I needed to get back to my house and settle this. Besides doctor Singa, I was the only one who knew about the Valium. She needed one immediately and I was kicking myself for leaving her at
Nick “Nick, what are you doing back?” she asked. “Sorry to disturb your session but can I speak with you,” I say as I walk to her. “What is going on?” she asked getting up, “Did something happen?” “I’ll leave you two,” Doctor Singa added. “Thanks,” I gave him a nod and looked at Ki, “Hey,” I smiled as I hugged her. “You are back early. Did something happen?” she asked again. “No,” I responded, “I’m back because I have to go on a trip today. It’s last-minute, and I couldn’t cancel. I hate leaving you here all alone.” “I’m not alone. Rosalyn will keep me company,” she pushed me back looking at me with a sm
James “Do you think this will work?” I asked the moment I got out of the car. “Tori knows her shit. If she said it will work, it will,” Nigel added as his phone rang, “Tori,” he answered with enthusiasm looking at me with an I told you so look, “Yes. Perfect,” he nodded, “Okay see you soon,” he said. “And?” I asked, looking at him. “She will be here soon,” he said, “She is bringing us watches,” he grinned. “Watches?” I raised my eyebrow, “What will the watches do?” I asked as I leaned on my car. “You are about to find out,” he responded, nodding at a black jeep. The car pulled and Tori walked out with a huge smile on her face.
James “It’s not her,” I took a deep breath. Thank God it’s not her. I could finally breathe and calm down. I had gotten a call two hours ago that a girl matching Ki’s description had been found 80 miles away from Springs City in the woods by some hikers. The drive was long and excruciating because I was praying it wasn’t her. I pulled my phone as I walked a few feet away from the scene to call Nigel. “Is it her?” there was uncertainty in his voice. “No,” I shook my head to myself looking back at the scene, “I almost thought it was her when I noticed the hair,” I paused thinking back to a few minutes ago. I almost lost it when I saw the same curls as hers from afar and ran faster, almost tripping
Harper I felt like an idiot for falling in love with Conrad. He was a two-timing snake and a cheater. I had fallen for his lies. He told me he had broken things off with his ex but I caught them kissing in his car when he was supposed to be waiting for me to give me a ride. I heard the main door opening and I quickly wiped my tears and sniffed quickly making my way to the stairs. James was home early today and if he saw me like this he would lose it. He would call Nigel and both of them would harass Conrad. I just know it. “Harper,” he called out. “Hi, James,” I cleared my throat looking ahead, “I’ll be in my room,” I added starting to move. “Hey,” he walked and held my wrist, “I have a surprise for you.”
Adam “I thought I told you not to call me on this number,” I responded the moment the phone was on my ear, “Jay is getting closer to catching me and you calling me could be a trap,” “This is an emergency, something happened.” “What is it? Did you find out if James was the detective who helped transfer Sebastian out of Springs?” “No not that but this is about your sister, Adam,” “What happened?” I stood up, “Did you find her?” I asked. “Yes. I wasn’t aware of her whereabouts until a few minutes ago.” “Where was she? Is she alright?” I asked. “Where she was is not important but where she is right now.”
