EVIE POV

Jordan rolled off me, and I stood up adjusting my rumbled shirt. I ignored the look he was giving me as I looked past him, half expecting Atlas to appear behind him or something.

Jordan stood up also, retracing his steps back to the party without saying a word. I rolled my eyes, falling back against the chair at the look he was giving me. After our conversation, I’ll decide if he’s in the position to judge me or not, for now I choose not to comment on it.

EVIE POV I gave up tossing around when it became clear that sleep wasn’t coming any time soon. Dragging myself off the bed, I glanced in the direction of my window, hearing the wind hit the glass. I was beyond exhausted, my thoughts consumed not only my mind but my body as well. Jordan was right, and I couldn’t stand the fact that any of them were fact. I’m determined to prove them wrong, one way or the other. Changing out of the tee shirt I was wearing, I put on a hoodie, grab my sneakers on my way out. Doing the one activity that usually clears my head, I jogged out of the building. At this hour, the campus appears to be dead, the only few people you can glimpse are the janitors, professors and students who have early morning class. Usually the nerds. I continue jogging down the building lane, my body reminding me it’s been some time since I partake. Pausing to catch my breath, something—more like someone familiar caught my attention. Kaden. He isn’t alone, some other guy who I

EVIE POV Jordan won the match, and to celebrate the victory, the space was reserved later for a party. Only members of the same fighting club were invited. We had to go home and get ready for the party, I wasn’t at all looking forward to it as I have other things to worry about.I stood outside the auditorium, observing Maggie as she chatted with some other students—not Asher for once. Ever since Ethan told me what he did, I find myself doubting Asher as well. One doesn’t necessarily suspect the nerd, meaning they get away with a lot of stuff. I sense someone beside me, forcing my attention away from Maggie momentarily. I blink at the girl, recognition flickering across my face. She’s the same girl that bumped into me the other day, the one Logan wouldn’t stop staring at. I immediately knew she was here to ask me for his contact or something. “Hi?” She said, tucking her hair behind her ear. “Hello,” I answered coolly, walking away before she tried asking me for anything. She did

EVIE POV Kaden knows something, I could feel it in my gut. But why he’s choosing not to say a word to the others is something that’s bothering more than I care to admit. I spent last night working with Logon on Maggie’s case. As much as I try to deny it—which I’m not, because the first step of getting help is acknowledging that you need help. Now that Logan and Jordan are back on talking terms, interacting with one of them when both are present is eating me alive. Especially knowing I had a role to play. If I’m being completely honest, it’s more than that. Today, Jordan had a fighting match and he invited me along. Which raises some questions I plan to ask him later. I know why Logan is at the school having found out he’s studying a similar course as mine—Ethan. I still don’t know what the others do, sometimes I feel like I know them, other times I’m reminded there’s so much more about them I don’t know yet. I walked in after Logan, refusing to look at the mental door longer th

EVIE POV “Is she okay?” Logan asked impatiently. “Mostly shocked, she should be fine,” Jordan answered. I rolled over, letting them know I wasn’t asleep like they thought. They’ve been standing at the entrance of my bedroom, whispering to one another as if I’m not there. After Jordan and I came back from the party, I went straight to bed, my brother’s words still echoing in my mind. It wasn’t just his words that weighed me down, but the implication of what they meant—what I have been doing for the past week. They stopped talking once I stirred. I gave up the pretense and sat up, as much as I wanted to be alone, I didn’t really want to be alone. Grabbing the jacket I previously tossed on the bed, I stood up to leave the room. “Hey—“ Logan cuts in front of me. “Wait, you two are talking again?” My eyes widened at them, I had been so wrapped up in my own misery that it didn't fully sink in at first. “Yeah, Kaden found the source. It wasn’t Logan, meaning everything is just one bi

Skipping school and making out with one of the alphas at a frat party?” He shook his head, taking a seat next to me. “What’s happening in that school Ethan?” I demanded, folding my arms across my chest.“As you may have been able to tell, the Academy isn’t just like any university or a private one. It’s mostly a research school for smart people. I knew that, Mom

EVIE POV While Jordan sat at the passenger side, I remained in the backseat changing into my party clothes. Tonight, the goal was to be a slut. While the mini skirt was giving that, the top wasn’t, so I had to improvise by making a top out of one of my chest. Some minutes later, the car pulled up in front of a gated building. I stepped out, my legs almost giving out in the process. It's been a while since I wore anything with heels, so I knew it’s going to take a hot minute for my feet to get used to it. Jordan emerges next from the car, his eyes straining on my boobs. I winked at him, walking ahead. He jogged after me, catching up with me. “What if we run into someone we know?” He raised his eyebrow at me, holding the gate open for me to go in first. “Then we will simply tell them they are too drunk, and imagining things. Don’t tell me you have a problem with my outfit,” I pout, a teasing expression settling over my face. His lips twisted into a smile as he rubbed the back of h

EVIE POV About an hour later, I was done showering and getting ready, the only thing I was waiting for was the maid Jordan said he would send to fetch me. In the meantime, I pace around the bedroom looking at the artwork. While I’m not exactly an art enthusiast, I admire the ones I found pretty.

EVIE POV “Wait—” I subconsciously heard the shock in the tone as I was dropped to the ground. I crawled into a ball, whimpering and clutching my breasts, while gasping for hair at the same time. Shutting my eyes in the hopes of blocking everything out, my hands tightened around my chest as I fel

EVIE POV My mouth flew open as my brain tried to comprehend the scene unfolding in front of me. EVIE POV “Disguising yourself as a boy to go to an all boys academy is insane!” Mom yelled, looking at me like I had gone insane. “Especially when the school in question isn’t exactly known for being kind to its students.” “Don’t you get it Mom?” I cast a look at my Dad for help. “The school boar
