Chapter Twenty-Three

    By the fifth day the heat was getting to me. From the little sunlight that did filter through the trees I was sunburnt and it was severely uncomfortable. The warriors who passed by on patrols took pitty on me but didn't dare offer me any sunblock for fear Elstan would notice. From the little information I had been given each day from those who were sympathetic to me things were getting worse. Elstan was basically a tyrant and letting the power of being Alpha get to his head. Kyle told me yesterday that Elstan was pushing the warriors too hard during training that one of them actually collapsed and when they wouldn't get up he had the warrior dragged away and beat into submission. The warrior had been from one of the younger classes so probably around fifteen or sixteen years old. 

    I truly felt for my pack and it was almost as if I could feel their fear and sorrow grow stronger and stronger each day but I didn't know what to do at this point in

Disappointed as well. This is the third book I’ve invested in to find it is left unfinished. It was a good book too.
