Eiran's First Conversation With Knight

The pairs sat facing each other because they had to draw sketches of each other. Eiran still stayed silent but the moment he looked up at Knight his heart would start racing. He tried not to look at him for a while.

“You hate the idea of pairing up with me?” Knight asked.

“Huh?” Eiran got flustered. He talked to me!

“Wh…why do you say so?” He stuttered. Speak properly Eiran you are embarrassing me.

“Cause you didn’t even talk to me.”

“That’s because you don’t talk to others. I thought you might not like it.” Eiran still couldn’t look up at him for more than two seconds. He is looking at me with those eyes.

“Are you good at drawing?” Knight started sketching.

“No. I am terrible at drawing. Sorry. What about you?”

“I’m pretty good. One of my hobbies is drawing and painting.” He was focused on the canvas and Eiran looked at him.

He looks more handsome. It’s my first time looking at him this close. 

“Most of the paintings in the school gallery are mine.” Knight looked up and Eiran quickly looked away.

No wonder that girl gave him colour pencils during confession. Eiran thought.

“Are you shy around people?” Knight noticed his ears getting red.

“Not really. I just tend to stay alone, it’s more comfortable. I’m not good at conversations.” Eiran looked at him. He is asking me questions. Usually he ignores everyone.

“What colour are your eyes?”

Eiran blinked rapidly. "Oh…my eyes?”

“Yeah they look normal but they shine when light hits them.”

Eiran heart beat fastened. I hope I’m not turning red right now. “They are light brown.”

The teacher smacked Eiran’s head and he got startled. "Start sketching already, what are you waiting for?”

Knight smiled before focusing on the sketch.

Is he making fun of me? Eiran did not look up at him much and continued sketching.

“Are you really sketching me?” Knight’s voice was soft. "You aren’t even looking at me.”

It’s because I had memorised your features. Eiran smiled awkwardly. “I am trying but it’s not easy since you are so handsome.”

Knight pupils expanded and his face flushed out of nowhere.

Shit! Why would I say that, he looks shocked and angry. Eiran smacked his lips.

“Wrap it up and keep practicing,” The teacher’s voice resonated in the classroom. "Don’t be late for next class and submit a sketch of your favourite celebrity. It’s your assignment.”

Eiran quickly folded the sketch and got up from his seat.

“Eiran,” Knight called and he turned around. "We are supposed to exchange the sketch.”

“But I don’t draw well, you will be offended.”

“I wouldn’t cause I know you can’t draw well.”

“I still don’t want to show it to you. It’s embarrassing.”

He seems to hate the idea of getting involved with me. I shouldn’t have written his name to pair up with me. Knight expression got stiff. "How about this, give it to me. I won’t look at it in the school and won’t bring it up at all.”

Will he laugh at me? Is he trying to make fun of me in front of everyone? Eiran stood frozen for a moment before agreeing. "Okay. But don’t look okay?” Eiran handed him the folded sketch.

Knight offered the sketch he drew earlier. "You can give it back to me if you don’t like it.” Knight walked away and Eiran looked at the sketch.

“Wow!” He mumbled looking at the sketch that captured his face in it. “He even coloured my eyes. Is that why he was asking for my eyes colour?”

His eyes were still fixed at the sketch while he walked out of the room. I should go to school gallery to see his art. It’s really beautiful.

After the class things went back to usual and Knight acted as if they never talked.

The final bell rang and Eiran collected his things before he got up and noticed Knight heading out. Eiran sighed and walked out thinking of going to the playground. He noticed Knight walking straight out of the school.

He is going home? But he never missed to play! Eiran stood there looking at him walking out of the gate. "What should I do now? Should I go to the school gallery?”

Yeah that’s a great idea. He smiled and turned around to look at the school building.

“But where is the school gallery?” Eiran had to ask a lot of students before he arrived at the gallery acres away from the main building in the seperate building across the playground.

“No wonder I never knew about it.” Eiran looked at the four feet tall painting at wall near the door in the hallway. "It’s a forest…. Knight Brighter,” He read the artist name out loud. Is that Knight’s painting? He doesn’t use Victor in his signature.
