CHAPTER 2

BAO's POV

"Psst, Bao. Come here, quick!" My mom is really weird sometimes, I don't know why is she acting like that. I was obliged to follow my mom in the kitchen and asked her why.

"Wèishéme?"

"English, Bao. You know I don't understand mandarin," she said in a whisper.

"Mom? Why are you whispering?" I asked curiously.

She cleared her throat and kneel down in front of me. "Bao, haven't I told you before not to trust easily. People might take advantage of it," she said in a serious tone and I nod in instant.

"But uncle Shen is a good person-"

"And how can you be so sure?"

"I just know it," I answered and crossed my arms in my chest.

She stand up and messed up my hair. "Okay, okay. You go back there, entertain your guest while I'm still cooking. And don't talk nonsense, Bao." I immediately nod and run towards uncle Shen. I don't understand why mommy said those things.

"Hi, uncle Shen!" I greet him as I sit beside him. He smiled at me but his smile suddenly vanished when he saw my necklace.

He reached for my necklace and asked. "Who gave this to you?"

LIANDRE's POV

"Who gave this to you?" I asked but he just gave me a questioning look.

"Can I take a look?" I asked again and he immediately give it to me.

"You mean this?" he said.

Tumango ako at kinuha ang kwintas niya. It's not just a necklace, it's a ring.

This is the ring I gave her five years ago, there's my name carved on the inner side.

I look at him seriously. "Where did you get the ring?"

"Mommy gave this to me, saying that it was left by my daddy."

Daddy? He is my son?

Tila tumalon ang aking puso sa nalaman ko, this feeling is strange. I never feel this before, ngayon lang.

"Did your mom tell you where your father is?" I asked curiously.

"She told me that my daddy is already dead," he said in teary eyes.

W-What?! D-Dead? This woman!

"Thus, I want a new daddy so that no one will dare to bully her," he said while wiping his tears.

"How are you doing in these years?" I asked.

"I'm fine, but mommy is not." Tumayo ako sa pagkakaupo at tiningnan ang babaeng nagluluto sa kusina. I am facing her back.

She must have gone through.

"Uncle, I have told you so many things about me and my mommy, have you decided to be my daddy?" he asked in a low tone of voice.

He was about to tell me something more when my phone suddenly rang and I have no other choice but to answer it.

"Okay, I'll be back soon." Sagot ko nang matapos na sa pagsasalita ang sekretarya ko. Inilagay ko ang cellphone ko sa bulsa at humarap kay Bao.

I kneel down in front of him and caressed his hair. "Bao, tell your mom that I have to leave," sabi ko bago ibinigay ang calling card ko sa kanya na kaagad niya namang tinanggap.

"There's my number on it, call me if necessary. I have to go." But before I go, kumuha ako ng ilang hibla ng buhok niya.

I should run a paternity test just to make sure.

ADDISON's POV

"Where is he?" tanong ko nang makarating ako sa dining area at natagpuang wala na si Mr. Shen.

"He left," kaswal na sagot nang anak ko habang kumakain ng lollipop.

"Oh, come here. Kumain ka na," sabi ko at kaagad niya naman akong tiningnan.

"Ha?" pamaang na tanong niya. Oh, I remember, he don't speak tagalog.

"Kumain ka na means, you eat." Mabilis naman siyang tumango at dali-daling umupo at kumain.

"Aren't you going to eat, mommy?" tanong niya.

"Nope. I'm not hungry, just keep on eating, I'll just call your uncle Wayzz." Pagkasabi ay pumunta ako sa malayo at tinawagan si Wayzz.

Umabot pa ng dalawang ring bago niya ito sagutin.

"P*nyemas kang damuho ka, papatayin talaga kita 'pag nakita kitang g*go ka," usal ko bago pa man siya magsalita. Huminga muna ako ng malalim para pakalmahin ang sarili ko.

"Sorry na, pumunta pa nga ako sa CCTV station then I saw Bao with, ahm, with someone I know kaya ayun, I know he's safe with that person," paliwanag niya sa mababang boses. He seems bothered of something pero hindi ko nalang siya tinanong.

I took a breath before speaking. "Okay," sabi ko bago siya binabaan.

A person he knew? But he doesn't trust easily, he has trust issues. Nah, di ko na problema yun.

LIANDRE's POV

"Sir, here's the result," sabi ng sekretarya ko pagkapasok niya sa opisina ko.

"Oh, that's fast."

"I told the hospital that it's you who wants to run a DNA test so they immediately examined it. No biggies," walang emosyon niyang sagot. I think my secretary is not in a mood, she seems so serious and cold.

As I looked at the DNA results, my hands were trembling and when I reached it, I was too nervous to read it. What if he's not your child. Sabi ng boses sa aking isipan. But I discarded that thought and build an act of courage inside me and read what's on the paper.

"P-Positive?" Malalaki ang matang sambit ko. Napatayo ako bigla sa kinauupuan ko bago ngumiti ng malawak.

"I have a son!" I shouted out of joy and punched the air.

I hurriedly ran and rush into Addison's apartment. I heard my secretary call my name many times, reminding me to be back early to attend some meetings but I intend not to listen to her. I was just so happy to know that I have a son, my own blood and flesh, my family.

It took me ten minutes to arrive at there home. Hindi pa man ako nakakakatok ay may nadinig akong nagbabangayan mula sa loob. It's Addison and a man's voice. They're quarrelling.

I pressed the doorbell twice. Seconds later, a young boy with an annoyed face opened the door, but when he saw me, his face lightened up. I kneel down in front of him and hugged him tightly.

"Uncle? Are you okay?" He asked in a low tone of voice. The two voices from afar are still loud and noisy.

"I'm fine, I just need a hug." I can't yet tell him that he's my son, he might get shocked or something. He's still a kid after all.

I feel him nod a bit before he hugged me back. My son, thank you.
