Chapter 1: Fall into a trap

The first day of summer vacation has arrived. The entire family has decided to spend the day camping in a nearby forest. Anne and Erica gathered their belongings in a hurry. The car rolled to the chosen location, and the two sisters in the back kept looking out the window at the scenery.

Today's sky is clear. A few stray winds carry water vapor to soften the atmosphere on occasion. Parents work feverishly to erect tents and prepare stoves and coals for grilling food. On the one hand, Anne helps her mother with errands while keeping an eye on her sister Erica, who is playing nearby.

Erica unexpectedly rose to her feet.

Anne called out to her mother, but she didn't hear her. Anne didn't have much time to think as Erica's figure faded into the distance, so she dashed after her. According to Anne's parents, many dangerous animals are in the forest, and she cannot let her sister fall into their belly.

The two sisters dashed into the woods, one ahead of the other. Erica abruptly halted in front of me as she ran more profoundly, and Anne quickly caught up with her.

"Where are you running to, Erica?"

"Rabbit, Erica wants to catch the rabbit."

Anne then noticed the rabbit had disappeared behind the dense bushes. Erica still wanted to pursue it, but Anne stopped her. The jungle was too dangerous for two children.

"Erica, stop!"

The little girl didn't seem to hear the call behind her and continued to chase the rabbit. She felt a beat under her feet as soon as she grabbed her sister's hand. The two sisters fell into a deep hole just as they were about to say an "ah" sound.

It hurts like hell!

Anne rushed up to Erica, who was sobbing now. Fortunately, this is just a regular pit; there are no thorns or dangerous animals below, so it is only mildly painful and harmful. Erica burst into tears: "It's a little painful! It hurts!"

"This candy belongs to me. Erica, on the other hand, would not cry. You will be allowed to consume candy."

Erica is six years old, two years younger than Anne, but her mind is still that of a one-year-old child. She stopped crying when she saw candy, her hands asking, "Candy, candy." Erica desired sweets.

Anne is an older sister who adores her little sister, so she always has a few candies in her bag. She pulls them out to comfort Erica at this time.

Anne hurriedly stood up after Erica stopped crying to examine the situation around her.

"Erica, get on my shoulder and climb up there, then run back to your mother," Anne coaxed Erica.

Erica remained unresponsive, her gaze fixed on the candy in her hand. Anne had to repeat it twice before nodding.

Erica stuffed all of the candy into her mouth while brushing her hands. "Erica, hold on tight," Anne said carefully to her sister as she sat as low as she could so Erica could climb on her shoulder. "You take your place here."

"Alright." Erica nodded obediently, both hands clutching Anne's shoulder blades.

Anne slowly stood up and walked towards the crater, saying to Erica:

"Erica, now stand up straight and try crawling up like you're climbing a tree to pick fruit."

"Erica got it."

"Very good!"

Erica finally crawled out of the pit after all her efforts. "Sister, take this Erica's hand quickly," said the little girl standing on the edge of the hole to Anne below.

Anne made a hasty stop below: "Erica, hurry up and locate our parents so that you can save me. Take care not to slip! Remember not to chase rabbits anymore."

"Erica, get out of here!"

Anne tried hiding in a small corner to avoid attracting uninvited guests. I'm not sure when this hole was dug, but hopefully, no animals fell into it. Anne sat in prayer before collapsing from exhaustion. Anne awoke from a lovely dream, unsure of how long it had lasted. Looking up from below, she notices that the sky has gradually evened out; she wonders if Erica has located our parents. When will they show up? Anne rubbed her rumbling stomach while contemplating something.

The smell of blood wafted around Anne's nose as she hurriedly looked around. Oh my God, when did such a bloodthirsty boy appear beside her? Anne dashed to the young man's side, pressing her finger to his lips to see if he was breathing. Fortunately, his weak breathing indicates that he is still alive.

Anne used her handkerchief to help the boy clean up the blood, then wrapped it in a bandage. Erica is very active, so she bleeds a lot. Anne always carries these things with her, and this time it works.

Anne blew on the wound while wiping it: "No pain, no pain!" This is the magic her mother taught her, and it would no longer hurt.

Anne retreated to a corner, waiting for the boy to wake up.

"Ah, wake up!"

When the boy saw Anne, he became alert like a ruffled hedgehog. "It was me who bandaged him," Anne said hastily, pointing to the wound on his hand. "Look, the bleeding has stopped!"

When the boy looked in the mirror, he noticed the odd-shaped bandages that covered the terrible wound. He curled up like a puppy licking an injury as he retracted his ferocity. "Why did you fall here?" Anne wondered. He is also rife with wounds."

There were no responses. "Would you mind driving me up there?" Anne enquired once more. "I'm beginning to get hungry."

When the boy did not respond, Anne yelled, "Why are you not responding? I've just arrived at your aid!"

Quiet. The vast cave only echoed Anne's voice; there was no response.

"Doesn't he look like a moron?"

Anne exclaimed, "Poor thing, yet so stupid."

After that, Anne saw the boy next to her as a place to vent her heart, constantly telling him things hidden in her heart for a long time. The voices gradually faded away and then came to a halt. Anne nodded and fell asleep, probably because she was hungry and tired. The boy next to her sat motionless, watching Anne sleep.

Anne slept for a very long time.

A remarkable drop of water fell on her dry lips and crept into her thirsty mouth. Anne is like a lost person in the desert who hasn't had a drink in a long time, greedily sucking the drops of fresh water.

"Please don't give up. I'm still thirsty..." Anne whispered in her heart, slowly opening her eyes and looking around dreamily as if she wanted to find the water source again. When Anne could adjust to the light outside, she noticed that the surroundings were no longer a wall of the earth but rather a jumble of rocks with green moss growing in some places.

This wasn't the trap she'd gotten herself into first! Anne screamed in her heart.
