"So, Mrs Cassie Quinn, would you like to tell us if you know this girl or not?"
That old woman, Cassie gulped who had been brought here in an unknown place with her husband by those men. Her throat dried up by watching that person sitting in front of her, staring at her with his cavernous brown eyes.
The old woman trailed her eyes towards the direction where he was pointing and she saw her standing there.
"Cia.."
His gaze twitched when he heard that old woman taking her name. He lightly tossed her head and saw those sapphire eyes gleaming in happiness as that old woman recognised her.
"Yes, I met her today. She was sitting on a bench in that park near my house. She was looking very vulnerable, alone and upset and was even crying, so I took her to my home," the woman notified him.
He sensed no lie in her story because she was looking confident about it.
"And did you give her these clothes to wear?"he asked.
"Yes, they are my granddaughter's clothes. I gave them to her to wear because her previous clothes were not looking in an appropriate state,"
He raised his head a bit and spread his arms over the edge of the sofa he was sitting on.
"You and your husband can leave now," he dismissed them and that old couple swallowed in fear and nodded.
They were about to leave until
"Stop, granny,"
Everyone snapped their head towards the owner of that soft yet firm voice, including those brown orbs and saw that petite frame striding towards that old couple.
She stood beside them and in front of him. Snapping her blue eyes in his direction, she uttered, fearlessly.
"At least, say sorry to granny and grandpa for troubling them unnecessarily by calling them here,"
Violet, Richard and the rest of the other people present inside that hall turned stunned and shocked at her words. She really hated her life for daring to say that thing to him.
His face hardened more, whereas his fist clenched at her bravery. He stood up on his feet without taking his eyes away from her.
Taking two long strides, he reached in front of her. Again so close to each other but her eyes didn't show any fear, which made him chew his inner cheek.
"Richard, take back Mr and Mrs Quinn safely in their home," he seethed out without tearing his gaze away from those sapphire eyes which lightened up at his words.
She travelled her eyes away from him and then hugged that old woman.
"Bye bye...granny. Thank you again for helping me today and sorry for this trouble you and grandpa have to face for helping me," she apologised. That old woman smiled and caressed her head.
"It's okay. Take care," she stated.
She nodded her head and then that old couple left from there.
As she saw that old couple disappearing from her sight, she finally looked at that robust figure towering over her.
His face held no emotion as he stared at her and then noticed her pink pouty lips stretching into a little smirk. Did she just smirk at him?
"Now, do you believe my story?" She uttered while crossing her arms against her chest.
Violet just wanted to hide that innocent girl in a closet because she was sure by watching her boss's reaction, he was about to slaughter her.
"And hopefully, you're not going to make tonight the last night of my precious life," she stated, proudly grinning at him. Only he knew how many plans his mind had already made to seal that mouth of hers forever.
She smirked but then her face immediately dropped when she recalled something.
"I have nowhere to go. Can I stay here in your home, please?" She requested, realising she could not roam all alone in the streets, especially when it was not safe outside.
Zale was startled at her request. She had really lost it. He had just threatened to kill her but now she was requesting him to stay in his house.
"I'll live in a corner and will even do all the household chores. Please let me stay here. I will..." she stopped when she saw him stepping closer to her.
He eliminated the rational distance between them and stood before her, so close that now she could feel his body heat radiating against her skin.
Those dark brown orbs peered into her, intently and then she saw him parting his lips.
"Get out," his voice was extremely calm. Her face fell more after hearing him.
"But you have such a big house. I promise I won't stay here for free. I will work and….”
"Get out," he again said, still calmly and without taking his eyes away from her.
"But I have no place to go. Please, let..."
"GET THE FUCK OUT...." Now he raised his voice at her.
She terribly flinched at her place and immediately backed away from him. He glared at her azure eyes which now filled with tears. Now her reaction changed but it still wasn't fear, it was hurt. She was hurt by his behaviour.
"Throw her out and make sure, she never dares to even come closer to this place," he ordered, still gazing into her watery eyes and then stepped away from her. He turned around to leave.
Two guards immediately came at his order and tried to touch her arms to drag her out.
"Don't touch me,"
Her words again made him halt in his steps. He tossed around his head and saw her now glaring at him with her watery eyes.
"I was right. You're rude and scary, you pig," she yelled at him, making him to fist his palms at her remark.
Violet's eyes widened by hearing her insulting their boss. She immediately tried to calm that burning volcano before she did something worse and ended up getting hurt.
"Cia..."
"No. He has no right to talk to me like this. I know I am asking for help, but he could have denied it without talking to me like I am not a human. He is rude, cruel. He is a pig," she glared at him, daringly. Her eyes were on the edge of falling tears.
"I am going but if anything happens to me tonight, I promise. I will make sure to haunt you and your house, you ugly heartless pig," she gave him her threat and then dashed towards the door.
His gaze keenly watched her every action and then saw her stopping at the door. She again twirled around and looked at him with a hope shimmering in her glossy eyes but he didn't let her hope to get fulfilled.
He remained still and didn't say anything, which made a tear finally roll down from her light pink cheeks, and then she turned around and walked out of the door.
He continued to stare at her figure until it completely disappeared from his vision in the darkness.
Turning around his head, he went to his room and there stood Violet who felt very bad and pity for that poor homeless girl but she knew she wasn't capable of helping her too but somehow, it was better for an innocent soul like her to stay alone in the darkness than to stay with him in his dark presence because she knew his darkness would end up tainting her virtuous soul but she was still confused about one thing that...even after she insulted him, raised her voice at him in front of his own people. He let her go with no harm. Maybe because his heartless self had even melted in front of that innocuous soul.
After entering into his room, he removed his coat and threw it on the bed and straight went to the bathroom to take his night shower.
The cold water was falling on his naked skin, as he was standing under the shower. He wiped his fingers in between his hair. After getting done with his shower, he turned it off.
Grabbing the towel, and started patting his face. Unintentionally his eyes caught the colour of his towel and he noticed it was light blue in colour and immediately those sapphire orbs came in his mind. He had never seen such bewitching blue eyes in his life ever before.
He frowned at his own thoughts. Now from where did her blue eyes come from? He growled and flared his nostrils in frustration but then his eyes fell on his own reflection in the mirror.
"He is rude, cruel. He is a pig,"
His grip tightened around the towel. Now even her voice and words started overpowering his mind. Her voice was so soft and tender. He gritted his teeth and threw that towel on the wet floor, halting his own thoughts.
From when his own thoughts started betraying him? He rubbed his palm over his face and then got out of the bathroom.
After wearing his trousers, he laid down on his bed and turned off his room's lights. He placed his arm over his forehead and closed his eyes to get his sleep.
"I am going but if anything happens to me tonight, I promise. I will make sure to haunt you and your house, you ugly, heartless pig,"
He opened his eyes. The heck was wrong with his mind? Why was it thinking about that girl and her words so much? He again shut his lashes and tried to sleep but instead of getting his sleep, his mind started flashing images of those men which were running behind her. Her screams and whispers for help to him.
His eyes again opened. He tossed himself on the bed and forcefully closed his eyes and tried his best to throw her out of his mind. Why would it matter to him even if something happened to her? She was not his headache to take.
Mentally scoffing, he again tried to calm himself down but this time her teary hopeful eyes and that tear which escaped from her eyes after he shattered her hope, started taking over his mind.
He got up and grabbed his hair in annoyance. This had never happened before. Why was he restless for no reason? Why was his mind totally and entirely all over her thoughts? That brainless teenager had casted what kind of spell on him?
He threw the duvet away from him and then stood up on his feet. Grabbing his shirt from the sofa and his car's keys from the table, he stormed out of his room with his clenched fists.
The night was engulfed with a cavernous darkness. Although tiny stars were shimmering which made her a bit relaxed but the deadly silence around her had started terrifying her.
She gulped and continued to walk in that darkness. The path was only visible because of the dim street lights. She was scared to her bones. What if those cruel men again found her?
That mere thought made her still in fear and adding into her agony, she heard the sound of a rustling from somewhere which made her turn her head towards it.
Her eyes widened by watching the bushes moving on their own. She froze. Cold sweat formed on her face until she saw a big and fat rat coming out from there.
She frowned and then sighed, and was about to walk forward when she heard the sound of a car running. She turned around and saw the headlights of a car coming closer to her at full speed.
Her eyes bewildered. Her body went numb in fear. She dropped herself on the floor when that car was almost about to hit her but it just stopped right in front of her, before even touching her a bit.
A scowl crept on her face. Was the driver blind? She was surely going to poke her fingers in that person's eyes, for almost trying to climb the car over her.
She was about to yell while sitting on the ground, when she saw the door of that car opening and the person, who stepped out of it, made her tongue shut.
Oh...so the ruler of the cruels, Mr Devil had come to take her life but she was sure that this time, she would surely teach a lesson to this cruel man, who was gazing at her with those deep brown eyes of his.
"Are you living with the only purpose of taking my life?" She spat at him. Only if they both knew how true it was ....
"Now before blowing the candles, make a wish, Zia," Zia smiled at her mother hearing her words and nodded. She closed her eyes slowly and made her wish. After that she opened her lashes and the very first thing her gaze caught was those green orbs staring at her because its owner was standing in front of her. She gawked at him through the fire of those burning candles. "Now blow the candles…." Cia's voice made her shrug and then she blew the candles. Everyone started clapping and wishing her whereas she grinned at everyone except that one person. She did her best to avoid his entire presence as much as possible because his mere presence was making her remember what had just happened between them just a while ago and she didn't want to remember it, not even in her dreams again because that was a living nightmare for her. "Once again, happy birthday," Zale fed her the cake to which she smiled and returned the gesture. Zia fed the cake to her parents and grandpa and then extended it t
A knock on the door grabbed the ladies' attention who were present inside Zia's room. They turned their heads and saw Zale standing at the door. Cia passed him a smile before siding away because she knew he was there to see how beautiful his little princess was looking in that dress which they both had selected for their daughter's birthday party. Zale looked at his child and immediately his smile turned more wide by watching Zia. He walked towards her and Zia wrapped her arms around her dad. "This dress is so beautiful, dad. Thank you so much for this," Zia uttered, smiling. Zale took out her face and planted a gentle peck on her head. "It's looking beautiful because my Zia has worn it," Zia giggled hearing her father. "Well…you can also compliment the other ladies present inside this room too, boss," Violet said, who was also there along with Zia's best friend, Riley. Zale chuckled and complimented them and then fixed his eyes on the love of his life, his wife…his Cia…. Cia'
"Happy birthday, Zia….," She slowly unlatched her dark black lashes hearing her parents' voice. She adjusted her sleepy vision to the light of the morning and a big smile crept on her pouty rosy lips by watching those two favourite faces of her life. She got up from the bed and opened her arms wide for both of them. With a smile, Zale and Cia hugged their daughter and kissed both sides of her temple."Happy birthday, Zia. Many many returns of the day, my child…." Zale spoke, caressing her light brown hair. Her alluring light blue eyes gleamed up in happiness."Thank you so much, dad…." She again hugged her father. His smile widened as he caged her back. His daughter was his life and the ultimate source of his happiness."Did you already forget about your mamma, Dad's princess?" The father-daughter duo pulled back and chuckled by hearing Cia. Zia stepped closer to her mother and embraced her."How can I forget about this beautiful face of my mamma. It's my everything," Zia said and p
"Careful, Cia….. " Zale uttered while watching his 9 months old pregnant wife who was playing with that kid, Damien. They both were chasing behind a butterfly in the garden of his manor. She was taking her steps slowly while holding the hand of Damien. They both were giggling which made Zale chuckle too. That kid had grown really close to both of them, especially Cia in these past 9 months. Once in a week, he always came to visit Cia with his father or sometimes even with his both parents during his weekend days. The Karlson family had also developed a very close relationship with Cia and Zale because of their elder son growing fondling towards Cia, Zale and their coming baby. "Oh… . No… it flew away… " The kid, Damien whined, watching that butterfly fly away from the flower. Cia chuckled at his tiny pout."We were not supposed to catch it, Damien," she caressed the boy's head who was pouting in anger."Because if we would have caught it then it might have turned very sad because it
"Damien Karlson," the little boy replied. Both Cia and Zale smiled at him. That boy had beautiful honey tanned skin and jet black hair. His eyes had the lightest shade of green which were twinkling like stars every time he smiled through his pearly white teeth. "Beautiful name and how old are you?" Cia asked, stroking his soft cheeks. The boy beamed in Zale's arms and answered. "I am five," "You didn't get hurt somewhere, did you?" Zale asked the boy in concern because that kid fell with a slight force and it was evident in that thudding sound of his falling. "No. I am fine, sir, " the boy shrugged his head while looking at Zale. "I am a brave boy. I don't cry," Zale chuckled at that kid's answer. Indeed that little being seemed brave. He patted his head. He didn't get very well with kids but this kid appeared to be different and he liked it. "Damien…" that voice grabbed the couple's attention and they saw Mr Karlson approaching them. "What are you doing here, Damien? Your mo
Soft and gentle blow of air was grazing against her face, making her golden strands of hair bounce in happiness. A small smile was playing over her lips as her azure eyes were staring at the beautiful horizon through her window. She closed her lashes and inhaled the fresh breeze of the evening which jolted her heart in content. She was enjoying the alluring sunset when she felt those arms wrapping around her waist from behind."I love you…." That raspily husky voice whispered in her ear and pecked below her ear tenderly. Her heart tingled, hearing that voice and feeling that touch. She wrapped her arms over his and leaned against his warm chest."I love you more," Her answer brought a beam to his face. He pecked her temple and embraced her more firmly. "So how was your day at work, Mr Alcazar?" She asked him, staring at the sky which had worn an enchanting shade of orange and slightly yellow. "Well…I attended some meetings, signed some papers, scolded some of my employees and miss
