Elaina later returned to Xavier's manor with more determination than ever. Drake's story touched her deeply and renewed her zeal to find who stole his estrus and help him escape.

She decided to search the house once more, there might be something she has been missing and there was no way the culprit vanished into thin air like a ghost.

She decided to sneak into Xavier's chamber first as it was well into the night and it might be the only chance she got. With the experience she had, she was able to sneak in seamlessly and when she started looking around, she noticed something was off.

‘If I didn't sneak in the other day, I wouldn't have noticed’ she thought as she came closer to the shelf in the study room. The books were usually arranged by color but there was a section that was mismatched. She also noticed a few books were scattered on the ground too.

They weren't there before which could only mean someone was there after she had left.
