EVE: THE BEAUTIFUL STRANGER.

Evelyn gazed into the cold, long night as she limped further away from what used to be her home, her eyes tired from constant crying, her body shivering from intense cold and her knee even sorer from walking. She was lost in thoughts as she desperately tried to convince herself that it was all just a dream, but she knew it wasn't. She had no idea where the police station was just as she had no idea what the hell was happening to her, she was only 13.

Evelyn had gotten tired of walking, she needed a break. Confused and afraid she located a nearby bench, placing her backpack on the bench, she brought out a sweater and put it on. Now cold and alone she sat on the bench, rubbing her palms together as she stared at the lonely street in fear. Memories of her tragedy came rushing back to her. She screamed for the first time that night, now realizing that she was an orphan.

" No! " Her voice roared as she cried. Her mother died trying to protect her, her father died without saying goodbye, and all she could get was the awful look in his eyes before he was brutally taken away from her. She didn't want to believe it, she would do anything for it not to be true. As she cried, her pain increased, the reality that she was now alone, that she would never have dinner with her family, she would never get to see her father's smile and her mother's unbearable behavior scared the living daylights out of her. Details of what happened came to her and she got even more agitated.

She remembered how it was revealed that she wasn't her father's daughter, her whole life was a lie. She knew that if things would have been different she would've been dead but it still didn't matter. Evelyn trembled even more as she remembered her father's painful voice as she revealed the truth at the dinner table. She remembered her mother revealing the identity of her father, a few moments after he took her mother's life. The thought that her supposed father was behind the tragedy made her angry and disgusted with herself, and the thought that she was left alive because she was the living proof of her mother's infidelity made matters even worse.

There were so many secrets revealed that night that she tried to think about, she spent the last night with her family arguing and wishing she didn't exist. She thought of how her parents decided to sell the winery resulted in their assassination. The truth was deeper than she thought, her fear multiplied. Her throat got dryer as she cried, and her voice got thinner, clutching her bag in front of her she laid on the bench closing her eyes to sleep.

She was woken up by a strong force, her backpack had been taken away from her, before she could react, she spotted the assailant running further away from her.

" Stop! " Her pale voice screeched, " Please stop... "

She knew it was all in vain, she cried out once more. Her diary was inside the backpack and so was the number she was supposed to call.

Evelyn buried her head in her palms crying profusely.

She gasped in fear when she felt someone drop a guitar next to her, running past her at full speed.

Evelyn didn't know what was going on, she stared around her in confusion. Looking at the guitar in front of her, she let out a pale sigh. She remembered hers, she was playing hers before it all went down. She picked up the guitar, briefly running her hands through the strings, she played.

" In silence, when no one's listening, I still hear your voice. In silence, when no one's speaking I still feel your presence... tears go away, " She burst into tears, crying as she continued, " I'm sorry I'm late again.... the pain go away... I'm sorry I can't make it today... "

" Are you okay? "

Evelyn shook when she heard a male's voice behind her.

Evelyn wiped off her tears, sniffing as she dropped back the guitar. She turned back and spotted the young boy. She was instantly lost in the moment. He looked the same age as her, he had long oxblood hair falling across his little face. There were mild bruises on the side of his eyes and his forehead but she didn't mind. His brown eyes stared intensely at her as they sent a worried note to her. His orange lips sitting comfortably on his face, a tiny amount of blood hanging on the side. His jacket ruffled. He was a beautiful boy. What later caught her attention was her diary in his hands, he had gotten it for her.

" Is this yours? " He asked, gesturing to the diary.

Evelyn nodded, taking it from him, " Thanks. " Her voice was so tired that it was barely heard.

" I couldn't get your bag back, I'm sorry. " He replied, moving over to her.

" Thank you. " Evelyn cleared her throat, " Thank you. "

" You're welcome. " He pointed over to the guitar in her hands, " That's mine. "

" I'm so sorry, " Evelyn handed it over to him.

" You play and sing beautifully. "

" Thank you. "

" That song... did you write it? " He asked seating next to her.

Evelyn nodded.

" Wow! it's... it's beautiful. "

Evelyn looked away feeling a little fluttered, " Thank you. "

The boy drew closer to her, trying to meet with her eyes, " Are you lost? I can help you out, where do you wanna go? "

Evelyn looked at him, their eyes met, " The police station. " She vaguely replied.

The boy arched a brow in surprise, " I'm so sorry, you wanna tell me what happened? "

Evelyn shook her head, she didn't want to talk about it, much less to someone she barely know.

" Come with me, the police station is not far from here, I'll take you. " The boy stood up stretching his arms out to her.

Evelyn was swept off her feet already, she took his hands.

He held her close to him as they walked away. His kind gesture made Evelyn briefly forget about her situation, for the first time that night she was feeling some sort of relief.

" You wanna hear my song? " The boy asked running into her front, giving her the most beautiful smile she had ever seen.

Evelyn just nodded.

" You'll love it. " He replied, playing in guitar as he sang, " Everybody needs inspiration, everybody needs someone. Everybody has that expression that covers all the hurt, everybody has that escape from pain when the night's taking too long. Everybody needs a hug, everybody needs a friendly smug__ " He paused noticing Evelyn's eyes clouded with tears.

" I'm so sorry... " He immediately apologized.

" I love it. " Evelyn whispered with a smile.

As they gained closer to the police station, she saw reasons to fall even more in love with this beautiful stranger in front of her. He had sung a song that made her remember her father. The boy would tell stories that she paid no attention to, but she wanted to hear him speak, his voice was soothing. She wanted her encounter with him to last forever but sadly it didn't.

When they got to the police station, she was briefly separated from him. She went with the police to report her case, by then her parent's bodies had already been found. She was kept there for a long time while waiting for the person her mother instructed her to call to come to her safety. New faces she'd never seen before came to get her from the station, two men and a woman. The person she had called, introduced himself as her family's lawyer, a man named Micheal Hall. The other man introduced himself as her father's brother and the woman with him was his wife. Ramon Rivera and Cathy Rivera, relatives she hadn't seen even once.

By the time she was allowed to go, she rushed outside to search for the boy but he was already gone and it dawned on her that she didn't even know his name.

Eve as she now addressed herself felt a sloppy feeling on her feet, which jogged her back to reality, waking her up from her sleep. She saw a man kneeling at the end of her bed, her toes were in his mouth as he smiled sheepishly at her. She sighed taking back her legs,

" Good morning Piper. " She greeted him with a pretentious smile on her face.

" My lady. " The man replied smiling back, adding more wrinkles to his old face.

Eve stood up, seating faced with the mirror as she brushed her hair. She spotted a cheque next to her that made her genuinely smile.

" You signed it? " She asked him.

" You know I would do anything for you, my lady. " The man replied creeping behind her and kissing her by the neck.

Eve smiled as she continued with her hair, " As you should. "
