OUTBURSTS

" Manager! " Eve called in a high-pitched voice as the meeting concluded.

Seth stood, walking towards her, " It's Seth. "

" Seth the manager, " Eve smiled, " Whatever, follow me. "

Seth stood with a confused look on his face,

" Eve! " Micheal called from the crowd.

Eve glanced at him, brows raised.

" Eve, " Michael ran over to her, " I thought you were great in there. " Micheal said with a cheap smile.

Eve gave him one back, " Well, thank you, Micheal. " She knew he had more to say, but she didn't know what.

Micheal stood rubbing his fingers together in uncertainty, Eve realized she had to help him say what was on his mind. Eve held him by the shoulder, relishing in the shocking sensation she felt from him, she proceeded to rub him lightly by the arm.

" I was uh, I was thinking if you would uh... maybe think of accompanying me somewhere. "

Eve arched her brows, " Of course, where is that? "

Micheal heaved a sigh of relief, " It's a dinner party, would you go with me? "

Eve knew something was up and she was excited to find out what it was, " Give me your phone. " She ordered.

Micheal wasted no time giving it to her. Eve dialed a number inside it, " That's Coco-Chanelle, the designer. "

Both Seth, Cindy, and Micheal were confused, Eve continued. " She's my designer, call her and ask for Eve's dress, she knows what it is. Get it for me and you've got yourself a date. " Eve ended with a smirk.

Micheal gulped exchanging glances with Seth and Cindy who were already weirded out. He couldn't muster the courage to ask how much it was. " Um... of... course. " Micheal stuttered.

" Good, " Eve tapped him on the shoulder, " Bye. " She concluded walking away.

Seth was surprised at Eve's composure, he watched Micheal disappear in the opposite direction with a disturbed look on his face. He was impressed, to say the least, Eve had bodied it so well that Micheal could refuse or resist.

" You'll get used to it. " Cindy replied.

" Uh? " Seth asked.

" The weirdness, Eve's weirdness... "

" Weirdness is an understatement. " Seth corrected.

" Whatever, you get what I mean. "

Seth nodded, " Yeah, "

" You'll get used to it. "

" I hope so. " Seth followed Eve when she saw her gesture to him.

Cathy pulled Ramone to the side with a scowl on her face, it was obvious he was going to get yelled at.

" How could you do this? She began, " Did you see how she ridiculed Cindy? "

" Honey... we all know how Eve is. "

" That's just an excuse to be rude! "

" Try losing your parents the same day, right in front of you, and see how it goes. "

Cathy paused, she was not ready for a comeback if Ramone pulled out that card on her. " Whatever, what about Eve's brute? how couldn't you tell me about that... and 50 million? where the hell did she get that kind of money? we don't have that type of money. "

" Eve wanted the process to be discreet, I'm sorry. " Ramone reluctantly said.

" No, you're not! I'm your wife, you shouldn't keep things like that from me. "

" I'm sorry. "

" So tell me, " Cathy whispered, " You have the recipe? " She winked.

" Yes, honey... that's my job no? "

" Can I see? " Cathy asked with a smile.

" No, you cannot. " Ramone was straightforward.

Cathy pulled away from him frowning, " You're not going to tell me? "

" I can't do that, Eve's wishes. "

" Are you sleeping with her? " Cathy asked.

" You realize how stupid you sound? you sound so stupid. "

" I'm sorry about that, but you choose her over us... it's not right. "

" I have work to do, when it's time to let you know about Eve's brute, you will. " Ramone replied walking away.

Seth entered the office behind Eve, all the while he thought of who he could befriend to aid him I'm achieving his goals. There was no way he could sabotage Eve on his own, he needed direct or indirect help.

" So how'd I do? " Eve asked as she sat.

" Excuse me? "

" I'm talking about the board meeting, I did great right? "

Seth stared into space, that was the most disturbing board meeting he'd ever attended. " Yes, you did. "

" You don't think so, " Eve replied, " You're afraid of me, "

" What? " Seth wasn't expecting that.

" I don't know if it's fear or... " Eve stared at him deeply in the eyes, " There's something else, I can't tell, but I'm excited to find out. "

Cindy entered the room and before she would sit

Eve shot her a wicked glare.

" Cindy get out, I didn't ask you to be here. "

Cindy stood still in shock, " But the__

" But the... the... the... " Eve mocked, " Leave. "

Cindy stormed out of the office.

Seth was overcome by surprise at how Eve treated Cindy and pretty much everyone around her. He caught a glimpse of Cindy's wicked eye before she left the office. Seth smirked, he had found what he'd been looking for, Cindy was his girl.

" You must think ill of me, " Eve started, " But I don't care, this is what you'll do. "

Seth nodded in affirmation.

" Your job is to oversee everything I do, in my absence and even in my presence. I need someone I can trust... can I trust you, Seth? " Eve gave him a fragile, piercing look.

Seth froze, her gaze was so familiar, that he could feel it in his guts. He can't lower his guard now, especially not when he could see the fifty million dollars cheque in her hands. There was no way this despicable woman in front of him was the girl in his memory.

" Of course, you can, that's my job. "

Eve chuckled as she nodded, " There are only two people who know Eve's brute recipe, me and Ramone. We're going to begin processing soon and we're going to need help, I won't be around all the time, that's where you come in. "

Seth was tingling with excitement, " Just say the word, ma'am. "

" I need to run some errands, you're in charge. when I get back we'll have a private meeting with Ramone about Eve's brute, is that clear? "

Seth nodded.

Seth couldn't believe it, he had been invited to witness something important, he had to play his cards right, he had to attack when she least expected it. As Eve exited his office Seth set up a meeting with the opposition, whom he was working to sabotage Eve's brute.

Cindy cried to her mother, that was the only person she could talk ill about Eve to, the rest were either scared of Eve or in love with her. Her father Ramone, was on Eve's side. Sometimes she felt left out and betrayed.

" It's okay darling, don't let her see you like this? " Cathy replied, wiping her tears away.

Cindy sniffed, " I hate her so much. "

" I do too. " Cathy seconded.

" I wish she died with her parents that night. "

Cathy glanced around in shock, " Ssh, don't say that out loud, someone might hear you. "

Seth heard them, he was bewildered. First off he was thrilled that both Cathy and Cindy shared the same views as he did, they all hated Eve. But then, the last statement Cindy made him wonder. He had no idea Eve was an orphan, he suddenly felt a hint of guilt. He felt dirty, he could sense the pure hatred overflowing in the room and it disturbed him. He still had a job to do, it was time to turn on his charms.

" Hi, Cindy, right? " Seth approached her at the entrance.

" Yeah. " Cindy answered still sore from crying.

" You wanna grab lunch? "

" Can you trust him though? " Ramone asked Eve as she exited the company.

Eve wore a devious smile, " Of course not, I don't trust him. There's something in his eyes that pique my curiosity and I want to find out. "

" But letting him in on Eve's brute is not wise no? "

Eve chuckled, " Don't worry uncle, " She handed the cheque over to him, " You know what to do. "

Ramone nodded, " It's too early to tell him about the project. "

" Who said I am? " Eve winked.
