SERENA’S POV

The fire was everywhere.

At first, I thought it was only a dream. The kind you can shake yourself from if you just fight hard enough. But the heat was too real, the ash too thick in the air. My lungs burned as if I were truly there, trapped in a world consumed by flames.

The battlefield stretched endlessly around me, wolves I recognized from our pack, their bodies torn and blackened, lifeless eyes staring up at a ruined sky. The ground cracked beneath my feet, glowing red with molten fire.

And then I saw him.

Kael.

He was on his knees in the center of the chaos, his chest heaving, his sword stained with blood. His wolf’s strength flared around him in a halo, but even from where I stood, I could feel it waning, his power flickering like a candle against the storm. His shoulders sagged, and blood poured from a wound across his ribs.

“No,” I whispered, stumbling toward him, my throat raw with smoke. “Kael get up!”

But my body wouldn’t move as fast as I wanted. My fee

  • THE ALPHA FIERCE LUNA   CHAPTER SEVENTY-SEVEN

SERENA’S POV The forest smelled of ash before I even called the fire. My palms trembled, the memory of last night’s peace tugging at me like an anchor I was afraid to hold. I could still feel Kael’s arms around me, steady. That peace had felt like a lie, because here, in the clearing where the shadows swallowed the dawn, I wasn’t Serena the Luna. I was the girl haunted by a goddess’s hunger. Lucious’s voice cut through my hesitation. “Again.” The single word cracked like a whip. He stood across the clearing, arms folded, his silver eyes sharp but not cruel. His presence carried a stillness, like a blade balanced on its edge. I breathed in, then out. Sparks gathered at my fingertips, licking against my skin. For a heartbeat, I controlled it, until I didn’t. Fire erupted, searing the air, consuming the grass at my feet. I gasped, shoving it back, but it fought me, wild and hungry. “No—stop!” The flames coiled higher, licking dangerously close to Kael, who stood just behind me,

  • THE ALPHA FIERCE LUNA   CHAPTER SEVENTY-SIX

SERENA’S POV The air still clung with the scent of burnt earth where my flames had scorched the ground. Smoke curled upward in lazy ribbons, fading into the dark canopy above. My chest heaved with exhaustion, though the ache wasn’t from the training alone—it was from holding myself together. Kael stood just a few steps away, his amber eyes locked on me as though I might crumble if he blinked. His wolf pressed hard against mine through the bond, protective, restless, unwilling to let go. Lucious’s voice broke the silence. “That’s enough for today. Push her more and you’ll break her before she learns anything.” I glanced at him, sweat dampening the curls at his temple, his expression firm but not unkind. For all his sharpness, he’d been patient—far more patient than I expected from someone who carried shadows in his veins. Kael’s jaw worked as if he wanted to argue, but instead he stepped forward, wrapping his arm around my waist. “She’s done.” His tone was final, as though daring

  • THE ALPHA FIERCE LUNA   CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE

SERENA’S POV The forest was alive, curling like pale smoke between the trunks. My boots crunched softly against the leaf-strewn ground as I followed Kael deeper into the woods, Lucious a few steps ahead. The air was cool, damp, but beneath my skin heat simmered like restless embers, my power, awake before I was ready. Lucious stopped in a small clearing where the canopy broke, letting a shaft of sunlight spill down like a spotlight. He turned, his eyes steady, calm in a way that both comforted and unnerved me. “This place is far enough,” he said. “No one will wander here.” Kael stayed close at my side, his hand brushing mine, his wolf humming through the bond protective, watchful. I could feel the tension radiating off him like a taut bowstring. “You’re certain about this?” he asked, his gaze locked on Lucious, not me. Lucious inclined his head. “I’ve trained with her before. If she keeps holding it back, it will consume her.” His voice held no challenge, only fact. Kael’s jaw t

  • THE ALPHA FIERCE LUNA   CHAPTER SEVENTY-FOUR

Serena’s POV I stood at the balcony for a long time, watching the grounds below where wolves trained, sparred, and laughed. Their voices felt distant, like a world I didn’t quite belong to anymore, not with what simmered inside me. Kael came up behind me, his hand warm on my waist. His presence grounded me but didn’t quiet the storm beneath my skin. “You’re restless,” he murmured, his lips brushing my temple. I turned to face him, searching his dark eyes. He didn’t need me to answer. He already knew. The bond hummed with my unease, the fire pressing against the edges of my control. “I can’t keep pretending this silence is enough,” I said. “Thalos’s ritual gave me peace for now, but what happens the next time it cracks? I can’t risk losing myself, Kael. Not again.” His jaw tightened, his arm pulling me closer as though he could shield me from my own words. “You won’t lose yourself. Not while I’m here.” “That isn’t enough,” I whispered, guilt clawing at me. “You can’t fight this

  • THE ALPHA FIERCE LUNA   CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO

SERENA’S POV The first light of dawn spilled through the windows, warm and golden, nudging me awake. For the first time in what felt like forever, I had slept without claws at my mind or whispers tearing through my thoughts. No shadows. No fire. No Freya. Just sleep. I stretched under the sheets, smiling softly when Kael’s arm instinctively tightened around my waist, even in slumber. He was still deep in sleep, his breath steady, his jaw slack in rare peace. My chest ached with affection. For so long I’d seen only the weight he carried as Alpha, but in this quiet morning, I saw the man who was simply mine. I pressed a kiss to his temple and carefully slipped out of bed. The floor was cool beneath my bare feet as I freshened up quickly, tying my hair back before slipping into a soft gown. The pack house was alive when I stepped out of our chamber, wolves already moving through the halls, voices carrying with the rhythm of daily life. The smell of bread baking and roasted meat drif
