You Killed Her

“No,” Isabella cried as she took Elara's hands. “No,” she shook her head repeatedly, “no… no, it can't be.”

“Elara,” she sniffled as she grabbed her head, “please wake up. Lucas, tell her to wake up,” she looked to Lucas who only stared into space.

Her eyes dwindled to Elara and she sniffed as she shook the body, “please wake up, Elara,” but Isabella knew, with the mark on her neck, the spot where she had been slashed. She knew Elara wasn't waking up 

“Someone did this,” Isabella cried, “Lucas, someone did this.”

“Arg!” A scream tore through the room and Isabella raised her head to find yesterday's maid. “No. Miss Elara! Boss!” The maid shook Elara's dead body before her eyes turned venomous.

“You…” she gasped and turned to Isabella, “you did this! You did this. You killed her. You murdered her! You murderer!”

Isabella's mouth went agape, her eyes wide open in horror. “What…”

“Alpha,” the maid cut Isabella short, “she killed your sister!”

Gasps filled the room and Isabella stepped down the bed, tears flowing freely, her eyes wide in shock as the maid crouched to her knees.

“She promised to keep it a secret. She already agreed to keep it a secret. How dare you kill her. She loved you. How could you have hurt her?”

“What…”

“What secret?” Lucas' voice boomed through the room as every nerve inside of him struggled to stay still. He had just returned from enemy claws to find his wife cheating… and his beloved sister, his one family left dead.

“The Luna's affair,” the maid dropped to her knees, “The Luna has been having an affair for a while.”

Gasps echoed through the room as the maid continued, “one day… Elara went to check on her… and she found out. She challenged the Luna and… we all thought it's because you've been away,” the maid wiped her tears.

“The warrior loved her and promised to keep it a secret.”

“But… I guess the Luna didn't think that was enough,” the maid reached for Elara's hands, “then she must have murdered her in cold blood.”

“Liar!” Isabella countered instantly while murmurs filled the room. “Liar. She's lying, you don't believe this, right,” she dashed towards Lucas and took his hands, “Right Lucas?”

Lucas pulled his hands out of her grip and headed towards the bed. He settled on it and reached for Elara's hands. They were cold, way too cold, and blood was spattered on her. She had a mark on her neck.

Slowly, he reached for the duvet and pulled it off her and a gasp escaped his mouth seeing his sister's intestines. She was stabbed — repeatedly.

The murderer was cruel, and hurt her continuously.

His throat tightened and his lips dug had into each other as he fought back the tears. “How could anyone do this?”

“Alpha!” Viktor barged into the room immediately and gasped, “Cruel! Who did this,” he turned to the guards. “Quick, get her body away.”

“No… leave it,” Lucas ordered coldly before he raised his head and the murmurs died at once. Heads dropped to the floor unable to look into the Alpha's raging eyes and slowly, Lucas stood. His steps echoed on the floor until he was in front of Isabella.

“No…” Isabella shook her head, “no… I know nothing about this, no Lucas, you can't believe this,” Isabella shook her head and reached for him, “I promise she was killed by someone else, Lucas.”

“They poisoned her,” Isabella shook her head, “we were attacked, why wouldn't you believe,” she looked into Lucas' eyes but they were cold and empty.

Before she could say another word, his fist clamped around her throat and she was flung to the wall.

A cry tore out of Isabella's throat as Lucas tightened his hold, his eyes glowing bright, “you murdered her.”

“No, no,” Isabella cried in his hold, “she was… my friend,” she gasped as Lucas applied pressure, “Lucas…” Isabella gasped as she clawed at his hold, “you're hurting me.”

Lucas tightened his hold before one of his hand released around her, and the second upheld her in the air and instantly he dropped her to the floor.

Isabella crushed to the floor, white hot blinding pain shooting through her muscles. Blood drooled down her nostrils as everyone in the room gasped while Lucas circled her.

“You turned my park into a whore house. You were lying with another man while I was away.”

“No,” Isabella shook her head as she coughed out blood, “no… alpha, please you can't believe this. I love you Lucas, I waited… I waited for you. I've been waiting. Please just listen to me,” she held the duvet around her and raised her head.

But the man she married wasn't the one staring back at her. Instead all she got was a cold hateful stare and that… that shattered Isabella to pieces.

He believed them. He believed she killed his sister who became her best friend. He believed she cheated on him.

Isabella shook her head. She wasn't going to let him believe it. At once she crawled even as the duvet unwrapped around her. She stayed on her knees at Lucas' feet

“It's me, Lucas. Your mate,” Isabella sniffed, “I didn't do it.”

“She's a cheat! A murderer! A killer!”

“You feigned concern for the Alpha,” one of the elders screamed. “Why did she do this? To bear a child for the Alpha?”

“Is it because you're barren?”

“Enough!” Isabella screamed as tears rolled down her face. Her chest ached and her wolf winced in pain.

“What's going on?” Her wolf cried, “he doesn't believe us.”

“Lucas, you have to believe,” Isabella pleaded, “I'm your mate. I didn't kill her. We were both attacked. But they poisoned her to weaken her.”

Lucas scoffed and stepped away, every emotion inside of him vanishing. “Right, Isabella?” He chuckled, a dry chuckle that lacked emotions, “how do you explain the man on the bed?”

“I was injected and stripped,” Isabella cried, “why won't you believe me, Lucas!”

“Because all I see is a whore,” Lucas announced as his eyes darted around. His chest heaved, his jaw clenching as his muscles flexed.

“And I know how to treat whores,” his voice tightened, his next words shattering Isabella.

“Strip her naked!”
