Framed; He Believes

As the engine of the car shut down, Lucas pushed the door open and just as he stepped down, he took his eyes over the gate that housed his territory 

The gate that protected the house he built, his fortress, the place he was raised. The house where he became the Alpha.

“Alpha Lucas!” He watched one of the guards scream and at once the gate was pulled open. “Alpha Lucas, you're bleeding,” the guards were shocked, “What happened, alpha. Our men were just getting ready to come find you.”

“We were attacked,” Lucas announced as his eyes ran over his body. Different cuts were plastered on his skin while blood stained the white shirt he was in. He had fought, changed forms when needed, tore people's skin and now his wolf was tired.

He turned to the cars that were just pulling into the gate, “send more cars and go bring others,” and at once he headed in.

He pushed the door open into the living room. “Alpha Lucas!” The maids screamed and at once bowed. “We have been waiting for you,” they rushed to him, “you're injured Alpha, we should lead you to your chambers.”

“Chambers,” Lucas scoffed as his eyes darted around the living room. 4 months and things had changed. He looked like a foreigner in his own palace. At that his fist tightened and his heart slowed.

If he felt like a foreigner himself, what would others feel like? How would others react to him. His subordinates? His packs and her… Luca’s heart slowed. His wife.

How would Isabella react to him? She had desperately wanted to see him. Countless times they had communicated and he knew how much she missed her.

He wasn't supposed to go on such a mission without his wife but he was here. Lucas sighed. He was here to fix things.

“Not my chambers. Take me to Isabella.”

“Alpha!” The maid screamed immediately and Lucas raised a brow.

“What's it?”

“I don't think you should do that,” the maid held the hem of her clothes, “a lot has been happening lately,” her voice lowered, “I don't think you should see Luna yet, I'd go tell her you're around and have her get ready for you.”

Lucas stood as he stared at the maid before his heart skipped. Get ready. Hope… every limb in his body went stiff and at once he had picked his pace. Hope they weren't maltreating his mate behind him?

Why did she have to prepare to see him?

“Isabella!” Lucas screamed, every step causing his pulse to ground loudly in his chest. What if she had changed. What if she looked unkempt.

“Alpha,” one of the maids assigned to her chambers stood in front of him immediately, “you can't see Alpha.”

“Get away,” Lucas growled as heat crept under his skin. His eyes shone and with a shove of hand, the maid was off the way. He fastened his pace and at the entrance of Isabella's door, he braced himself and pushed the door open.

And the world narrowed.

Lucas stood his, his eyes going wide in shock.

Of everything… he had never expected to see his mate of 6 years. His crowned Luna entangled with another man. But there she was. Bare. Fully naked.

On the bed, tangled with another naked man.

“Isa!” His scream bellowed through the the room and his wolf winced inside of him as his fist tightened. He moved towards the bed and with a yank, he dragged Isabella up.

“How could you?” Lucas' hands moved before he could stop himself, the slap echoing in the room as his palm came into contact with Isabella's cheeks.

“Alpha!” One of her maids rushed to the scene, the same time Isabella's eyes dragged open.

The sunlight stung her eyes and she crashed back to the bed before she paused. That scent. That familiar scent. Instantly, her eyes snapped open.

And there he was— the man she had been waiting for for months. The man she had desperately wanted to see. But something was wrong. Her head was foggy and Lucas, he was staring at her in anger.

His brows was pulled and he was emanating rage. What… happened?

“Alpha,” she drawled as she stretched a hand forward, wondering if she was dreaming but she wasn't. He was there. “Lucas!” Isabella sat up immediately.

“You're back,” she jumped off the bed and crashed into him before she stopped… her body, they felt… bare.

Isabella's gaze dwindled to her body and she gasped. She looked up to Lucas and her breath stuttered before she took her eyes to the bed and she stumbled in her steps.

“No,” Isabella shook her head as her eyes darted around, “no,” she grabbed her head as a scream tore through her mouth.

“Lucas,” Isabella gasped as her eyes darted around and slowly, her memories seeped in. How she struggled in the arms of that burly man. How he injected her. How the last thing she saw… was…

Isabella gasped immediately.

“Elara!” Isabella looked around, “where's she? Where's Elara?” She rushed to the door before stopping. Then she dashed to the bed, dragged the duvet off the man and wrapped it around herself.

Then she turned to Lucas, “it's not what you think Lucas, I promise,” Isabella gasped repeatedly, “find Elara. You have to find her now!” She screamed and dashed to the door, the same time a maid rushed.

“Alpha,” the maid dropped to her knees, tears rolling down her eyes. “Something is wrong,” the maid cried.

“The worst has happened.”

Isabella dashed towards her immediately, “what's it?”

“Alpha,” the maid sniffed and slowly raised her head, “Warrior Elara… was found in a pool of her own blood.”

The world blurred at the edges of Lucas' eyes. Elara. He only knew one person that bore that name. His fingers trembled and his pulse stuttered in his throat, “wh…at?”

“Warrior Elara has been murdered.”
