CHAPTER 23 - Take It, or Leave It

With heartbeats hammering like thunder, Andreitte closed her eyes and sniffed more of the familiar scent that is now filling her lungs.

“That man seems to be stalking me. So, he is here in the palace right now, instead of helping his comrades to defend the mini castle?” she murmured while making an annoyed expression.

With curiosity, she walks toward the door and opens it. She let her eyes wander around, but except for the guards posted everywhere, she could not see the face that she was looking for. She furrows thinking about where the familiar scent came from if he is not nearby.

She looks at the two rooms on both sides of her room and remembers what Beta Manro had said. “The Last room is the Alpha King’s room.”

She was not able to ask who occupies the room on the other side of her room. She walks out of her room and approaches the room she was told by Beta Manro to be the Alpha King’s room. Her heart tumbles when the scent grows stronger as she stands in front of its door. She fe
