The air felt thick, Killian swallowed hard, his chest felt tight as if he had been struck with a mighty wood. He didn't say anything for a moment.

“Is that so?” His finger went under Hailey's chin and raised it to look at him, Hailey inhaled, she didn't even realize she had held her breath until he touched her. “Look at me,” he said when she lowered her eyes.

“I-I'm-I'm sorry,” her voice was barely above a whisper, when their eyes met she saw the pain and hurt in his eyes. She dared to hurt the supreme leader? Indeed she was a bringer of bad luck.

“Hailey, did you just say you don't want to be my queen?” Hailey's heart began pounding. “Answer me.”

“I … I can't accept it, I'm going to cause trouble for you.” she stuttered.
