Xander's pov
Stepping out of the office with Rowan and Magnus flanking my sides, I'm greeted by warriors stationed in the hallway, omegas and human servants alike going about their daily task. Looking out one of the windows in the hallway I spot the carriages that have brought the humans. The humans were being led out by warriors from each carriage. I spot a flash of silver hair belonging to one of the humans from the silverclaw pack. A female. Something about her drew me in, I couldn't see her face yet as she seemed to be shielding her eyes from the sun. A throat cleared, it was Magnus signaling that we should keep moving. Pulling myself away from the window we continued on our journey down. Upon getting to the ground floor where the throne room was situated, my ears picked up the sound of something or someone being dragged, there was some sort of struggle. Magnus, Rowan and I all shared a look. Could it be a human? That was impossible, they all feared us and dared not to even breathe wrongly in our direction plus they were all corporate when I looked out the window. “Could be some omegas messing around.” Rowan said with a shrug. Before continuing to the throne room. I will find whoever was responsible for this ruckus and deal with them later. We all walked to the throne room. The throne room was large with dark obsidian pillars, dark stone flooring, perfectly sculpted faces of all the previous alpha kings and queen lunas lined up against the walls on either side. A lot of blood has been shed in this room, faint crimson blood stains here and there, a reminder of what could happen if you step out of line. Lives have also been saved here, laws have been passed, deus has been paid and dreams have been fulfilled here. The throne sat massively at the end with enormous windows behind it, whenever a king passed on or stepped down for the new alpha, his favorite weapon would be smelted unto the throne. The throne was built on the ashes of the seven humans who initiated the war and the skull of their leader mounted on top, a reminder of what's to come if the humans try to go to war with them again. Walking up to the throne, I pause and look at it, a remainder of all the responsibilities I had on my shoulders, the weight of the world. My crown rested on the armrest, gleaming under the sunlight filtering in from the windows, the crown has 10 gems, each representing a pack. With a sigh I sat on the throne and waited for the arrival of the humans as they were led in. Lyra walks in not long after offering me a curt nod then taking her sit in one of the four chairs in front of me. One for the gamma, one for the beta, one for each sibling. The ruckus continued this time getting closer to the throne room. The warriors by the door opened it up revealing a captain dragging a thrashing human. Silver hair… I thought to myself. My nose picked up a delightful blend of frosted berries and wild honey laced with a delicate sweetness of vanilla orchid, this made my wolf purr within me. The human had the same silver hair I had spotted from the window upstairs. I watched as they continued to brawl, neither realizing that they had arrived at the throne room. The fiest human leaned forward and bit the warrior, a captain I presumed, hard drawing blood. With a shriek he released her. She was a fighter. My breath caught in my throat as I caught sight of her face, she was stunning. Something stirred deep within me, I didn't know what it was. “What's that Leo?” I asked my wolf, Leo. “I don't know, but the human…there's something about her”. Leo responded. The captain brought out his claw about to strike when Leo suddenly pushed forward, momentarily taking over from Xander and yelled. “Stop!”. The command reverberated in the castle. My alpha presence is fully immersed in it. All the werewolves present immediately bowed, forced into submission by the gravity of the command. The Captain's claws immediately retracted as he bowed. The humans also felt the weight of my command, some quivered in fear, looking like they were about to piss themselves. The castle went pin drop silent. The silver haired girl however seemed to only be light affected by this. This got me curious. “What's going on here?” I asked, gaze pinned on the captain. “Sir…” he started but trailed off. I do not like to repeat myself so this ticked me off. I could smell the fear radiating off of him. Sliding my gaze to the human I find her gaze already pinned on me. Her eyes… I thought, sucking in a sharp breath. They were otherworldly, crystal blue. Like gems in place of her eyes. I felt like he was drowning in her eyes, I scanned her face and she looked like she had fallen out of the heavens, placed on earth by the moon goddess herself. We locked eyes for what felt like an eternity but was merely a couple of seconds, drinking in each other's appearance. My eyes drifted down scanning her figure, although she was on the floor bundled in winter clothing that must be too hot for her in this weather, I could see a peek of pale smooth skin, a skin that he wanted to tinge red. What the hell?... I thought to myself. Where were these thoughts coming from? What's happening? Is this another plot of humans to try and bewitch me? The unsettling sensation from the office was back, thousands of questions continue to run through my head all at once. Whatever is going on I was surely going to get to the bottom of it and put an end to it.Ava's povI can’t believe it.It had been two years since he shifted. Two beautiful, chaotic, laughter-filled, exhausting, healing, magnificent years.I stood by the balcony of our bedchamber, the cool morning breeze flow through my hair as I looked down at the courtyard. Below, the twins—Aurora and Celeste—ran after Xavier and Nolan, their giggles ringing through the air like the most beautiful melody. Aria trailed behind, trying to keep up, while Kaida sat under the shade of the willow tree, braiding Lyra’s hair. The sight was enough to make my chest ache in the best way.Xavier and Nolan had shifted recently and we were certain that when Rowan takes over they would be his gamma and beta.Rowan stood tall in the center of it all, sparring with his uncle—our Rowan. He was no longer the lanky, wide-eyed boy he once was. At sixteen, he carried himself with grace, power, and a natural leadership that made Xander and I look at each other in awe almost every day.A golden wolf. The Moon G
Ava's povThe sun was at it's peak and was proud over Blackthorn, casting a soft glow across the castle grounds as I watched from the balcony. Today was the day, Rowan Caelen’s 14th birthday. My heart had been pounding since dawn, my nerves bubbling with anticipation. This wasn’t just any birthday. Today, my son would shift for the first time.It felt like only yesterday I held him for the first time, barely able to believe he was mine. And now… now he stood tall beside me, wearing the ceremonial cloak passed down through generations of Blackthorn heirs. Navy blue, trimmed with silver threads, it billowed slightly in the breeze.I reached out and adjusted the collar with trembling hands. “Are you ready, baby?”Rowan grinned at me. “I’m not a baby, Mom.”Beside me, Xander chuckled. “Today, you become a wolf. But you’ll always be her baby.”My mate's hand rested on Rowan’s shoulder with pride so strong, I could feel it in the air.The courtyard behind the castle had been transformed int
Ava's povFive years later…I stood at the edge of the balcony, cradling one of my daughters against my chest. She stirred, her tiny hands balling into fists beneath the swaddle, and I soothed her with a gentle hum. Beside me, Xander held her twin sister, his deep voice murmuring softly as he rocked her, completely smitten. It didn’t matter that he was the Alpha King. Right now, he was just a father of three and my mate."I still can't believe they're here," he said quietly, eyes never leaving our daughters. "Two of them.""Our two little moonbeam terrors," I whispered, grinning."They already have me wrapped around their fingers," he admitted. "We're doomed."I laughed softly, leaning my head on his shoulder. Our daughters had been born under a supermoon, just like Rowan had. They came early, with a fury, and stole our hearts in an instant. We named them Aurora and Celeste which means light and stars, because that’s what they were. My world had expanded all over again, in ways I neve
Ava's pov It has been seven days since my son was born. The sun was beginning to set, the pack was beginning to wake. Golden light spilled through the towering windows of the Grand Hall as the castle buzzed with a quiet reverence. Wolves from every corner of our pack and some visiting from Ashville and others who had fought beside us, filled the grounds. Word had spread fast. The future Alpha Prince was to be introduced today. Our son. Rowan Caelen Blackthorn. The name still felt surreal on my tongue. A name that held strength, legacy, and love. A name chosen not for show but for the heart of the man it honored, Rowan, Lyra’s twin, Xander's brother, my friend, my brother-in-law, and the soul who had carried so much weight on his shoulders with unwavering loyalty. As I stood in front of the mirror in our chamber, adjusting the soft white gown draped across my body, my hands instinctively went to the baby wrapped securely against my chest. He stirred a little, his small han
Ava's povThe wind outside howled like it knew what was about to happen. The moon was full and watching, high above Blackthorn’s towering trees. Everything felt quiet and still, eerily so, as if the world was holding its breath for the events of that night.I jolted awake.A deep cramp tore through my lower belly, stealing my breath and tightening my entire body in its grip.I gasped. Then hissed. Then groaned as the pain came again, fiercer and longer than any of the aches I'd been getting for the past week.Xander was at my side in a heartbeat, rising from the other side of our shared bed. “Ava?”His voice was low and sharp, a leader’s instinct kicking in, but his eyes—his eyes were pure panic. I saw the fear and excitement written in every line of his face.I nodded, wincing. “It’s time.”Those two words threw the entire castle into motion.Within minutes, Vanessa and Kaida were by my side, helping me breathe, helping me move. The pack healer arrived with a bag of herbs, towels, an
Ava's pov The skies over the castle were crystal clear, it was like a perfect painting of blue sand white which was warm over our land. For once, the forest was quiet in a peaceful way, the hush that came when joy was on the brink of coming closer than ever, like even nature knew something beautiful was about to be celebrated. Today wasn’t just any day. It was our day. A celebration of the life growing inside me. A day to bask in love, laughter, and the sheer miracle that somehow, after everything we’d survived, there was a baby on the way. Our baby. The grand courtyard of the castle had been transformed. Silk materials in soft blues, silvers, and creams fluttered in the breeze. Tables were arranged in a wide semi circle beneath the tall trees and white lanterns were placed high above, the entire place felt magical. The scent of honey cakes, fresh fruit, roasted meats and grape wine filled the air. Music drifted around the open space, a soft harmony of flutes, drums, and stri
