Chapter 107

The Luna is Missing

Kaius’ POV

My eyes snapped to her immediately with so much hate. I couldn't believe my mother would do something so unruly.

“I told them not to answer you,” she continued calmly, as if she was explaining something simple. “You need privacy for what is about to happen.”

My chest tightened with anger. “Mother…”

The word came out low.

The lady in front of me moved closer again, reaching for me, her fingers touched the edge of my shirt, slowly sliding up.

Chapter 118A Step Toward HimAdelaide’s POVI finished the last spoon of food slowly, even though I was already full.Paula had insisted I eat everything, and I didn’t have the strength to argue with her. Not when she's asking if she should get some more.I placed the bowl gently on the tray and leaned back against the pillows and then, my eyes drifted toward the window, but I wasn’t really looking outside.I was thinking about everything. About Kaius and that night and the way he had looked at me, like I had shattered something inside him.My chest tightened. “I think…” I started slowly.Paula, who had been adjusting the tray, paused and turned to me immediately.“My lady?” she asked, her voice soft as she turned to me.I looked at her. “I think I should go and see him,” I said quietly. “And explain everything.”The moment the words left my mouth, Paula’s expression changed and her brows pulled together.“My lady…” she said slowly, stepping closer to the bed. “Are you sure that’s a

Chapter 117A Trap I Walked IntoAdelaide’s POV Paula nodded immediately, her expression turning serious again. “Of course you are,” she said quickly. “You haven’t eaten in days.”I let out a breath. “That explains it.”Paula stood up right away. “I’ll get your meal immediately,” she said, already moving toward the door.“Wait,” I called softly as she turned back.“Make it something light,” I added. “I don’t think I can handle anything heavy yet.”She nodded. “I understand, my lady.” Then she gave me a reassuring smile. “Everything will be alright.”I watched her for a moment, then I nodded slowly. “I hope so…” I whispered. She didn’t hear me, or maybe she did and chose not to respond.Either way, she turned and left the room quickly as the door closed softly behind her.I watched the door for a moment, then heaved and started robbing my stomach, waiting for her. _____Kaius’ POVI was going to my study, but then my steps slowed the moment I heard voices ahead.I stayed where I was,

Chapter 116A Quiet JoyAdelaide’s POVI didn’t even realize when my arms wrapped around her again.I just knew I didn’t want to let go. “I missed you…” I whispered against her shoulder, my voice a bit shaky. Her hand moved slowly over my back, gentle, like she was trying to calm something deep inside me. “I know,” Rey said quietly. “I missed you too.”I stayed that way for a moment, just holding her and feeling happy, a kind of happiness I didn’t even know I could feel. Then slowly, she pulled back and looked at me face directly. “I have to leave now,” she said.My smile faded immediately. “So soon?” I asked without thinking. Something in my chest tightened again.I had just found her, this was the first time she visited and I wasn’t ready to let her go.She nodded gently. “I’ll be back by evening,” she added, her voice softer now.I opened my mouth to say something, to ask her to stay, but then she paused and her eyes shifted slightly toward the door.“Someone is coming,” she said q

Chapter 115A Visit That Felt Like LoveAdelaide’s POVEverywhere was quiet when I finally opened my eyes. It felt slow, but I was able to open my eyes now.My whole body felt so heavy, like my body did not belong to me anymore. For a few seconds, I didn’t even know where I was.The ceiling above me looked familiar, but my mind was still trying to catch up. My head felt light, like I had been gone for a long time.I blinked slowly and I realized I was in my room and I was in my chamber. The curtains moved gently as the wind came in through the window. My chest tightened slightly as I tried to move, but pain followed me immediately. My stomach felt strange too, like something inside me had been shaken and was still trying to settle.I swallowed slowly, then I noticed that I wasn’t alone. I saw that someone was standing by the window. The figure was still and facing outside, like they had been watching the sky for a long time. For a moment, I thought it was Paula.I tried to sit up a

Chapter 114Broken WallsKaius’ POVI was in my chamber, staring at the papers in front of me, but I wasn’t really seeing them. The words blurred together and I couldn't tell what I was reading anymore. My mind kept drifting back to what happened, but I tried as much as possible to focus. I didn't want to dwell on it anymore.Since I left that day, I haven't gone to see Adelaide and I didn't care how she was doing anyways, not now that I was battling with guilt.Just then, Rafaello stepped in quietly like he always did, closing the door behind him with care. He walked closer, stopping a few steps away from me.“Alpha…” he started.I didn’t even look up. I already knew what he was about to say.“The Luna….”“I don’t want to hear it,” I cut in sharply. My voice came out harder than I expected.Rafaello paused and I could feel his eyes on me, watching me closely. “Alpha… something is wrong,” he said again, a little slower this time. “The Luna….”“I said I don’t want to hear it!” This tim

Chapter 113What Have I DoneKaius' POV I felt her fingers brush against me and I snapped. I turned sharply, grabbing her wrist before she could touch me again and pushed her hard against the wall. Her back hit the stone with a dull sound and she gasped. My eyes locked onto hers, dark and burning. “I am your Alpha.” My voice was low and dangerous. “You do not question me.”Paula’s eyes widened as fear filled them instantly. Her body went still against the wall, her breathing uneven as she tried to look at me.“I… I’m sorry, Alpha…” she whispered quickly. Her voice shook and there were tears in her eyes.I stared at her for a second, then I walked away. She just stood there, pressed against the wall, watching me like she didn’t know who I was anymore. When I got to my chambers, I felt horribly wrong. I couldn't believe I left Adelaide the way I did. What happened to the love I had for her?I shook my head. She betrayed me. But then, it kept coming. What have I done? I thought, the que
