****AMAYA’S POV****

The crystal vase shattered against the marble floor as I used my hand to sweep it down. Its pieces spread across the pristine white tiles of the pack house's main living room.

I'm burning with rage right now and I just keep breaking and throwing around anything I could grab.

My chest heaved up and down as my eye roamed the room, searching for what else I could break. Then my eye landed on the tray that a maid was holding, and my anger filled me more.

Is this the time for her to bring me wine?

Does it look like I’m in the mood for that?

I marched toward her, ready to grab her by her hair and make her…

“What the heck do you think you are doing, Amaya Woods?!!!” But my mother's voice stopped me.

I whirled around to face her, my perfectly styled blonde hair now disheveled, strands sticking to my tear-stained cheeks.

“Mother…”

"Can you please calm down and tell me what's wrong before you destroy the entire house?" Mom's sharp voice cut through my panic as her eyes swept

"I honestly don't know," he murmured against my skin. "But whatever those reasons are, they don't change how I feel about you." He placed a soft kiss on my neck, then gave me a gentle bite that made me giggle because it tickled. "You know I'd do anything for you?" he asked, giving another soft nip. I raised my hand to the back of his head, pressing him closer to my neck. "Yeah, I know.” "I'd even howl at the moon for you." I couldn't help but smile. "Will you?" "Mmm," he nodded against my skin. "I will." Just then, my phone started ringing in my pocket, and I pulled away from Alex to check the caller ID. Hailey's sweet face filled the screen, and I walked over to the couch before answering. "Hey there, cupcake," I said, settling onto the cushions. "Mama!” "Yes, sweetie. How are you? Did you miss me today?" She nodded. "Yes! I missed you so much! Aunt Carmen let me stay up past my bedtime because I told her I really, really wants to talk to you.” "Did she?" I laughed. "Ye

"Yes, that's exactly right!" The words exploded out of me like I'd been holding them back for years, and I was surprised by how angry I suddenly felt. Like, really, really angry. "All of them are bad, right? This one's bad news. That one's gonna break my heart. Every single guy I've ever cared about is just awful because you have this amazing magical intuition!""Emma…""Please father, I am so sick of this. Everything I did, you just never seemed to be satisfied. You've hated every single man I've ever brought home. Every. Single. One. And I'm tired of pretending that's normal father behavior.”He opened his mouth to interrupt, but I wasn't even close to done."Can't you just give me your blessing for once in your life? Can't you just believe that maybe, just maybe, this time things might actually work out for me?" My voice was getting higher, more desperate. "You know what I think sometimes? I think maybe it's your negativity that keeps screwing up my relationships. Like you jinx the

*****EMMA'S POV*******I keep pacing around the living room and jumping at every stupid sound, thinking that it might be my father but I ended up getting disappointed each time. It’s been a while since I got home, and I haven’t heard anything from my father. He's not even picking up my calls. What is taking him this long? It's past eight.Did something happened?I took my seat on the couch, sighing out loudly as I'm getting more worried.Just hope something bad didn't happen to him. Just then, I heard the door opening and I practically sprinted to the door.“Father?” I called out before he even stepped inside, my voice coming out higher than I wanted. “Please tell me everything’s okay. Why are you late?”He pulled off his jacket like it weighed a thousand pounds and hung it on the hook by the door.“Of course everything is fine. Are you that worried?” He asked and I nodded.“ I’m sorry. Things just got a little heated and I can't pick up call. But now everything is okay. I doubt th

She tried to pushed me away but I pinned he harder against the car. After struggling for a while and she seems that she couldn't win against me, she stopped struggling. We stood there for a while, staring at each other, and the pull between us was like a slow burning fire in my chest. My eyes moved over her face – those high cheekbones, that perfect nose, those lips that I'd dreamed about every night since she left. Those lips…. My eyes stayed glued there and I saw her swallow hard as if she was also waiting for me to make a move.Taking that as an acceptance to my invitation to take her lips, pleasure rushed through me and I started moving my face closer….and closer to hers. She didn't pull away but just stood still with her eyes fluttering closed and I could smell the arousal starting to mix with her scent. Just a few more inches and I'd finally taste those lips again…Then her knee came up fast and hard, connecting with my already aching cock."Fuck!" Pain exploded through my bod

"Wait, you're not seriously thinking of being with him, are you?"She didn't even turn to look at me. "Is that supposed to be a question?"When she finally glanced over, I caught a glimpse of those blue eyes that used to look at me like I hung the moon. Now they just looked... annoyed.Really fucking annoyed."Please tell me you're seriously joking," I said, running my hand through my hair.I was trying to keep my voice calm, but just thinking about Alexander's hands on her made my wolf snarl."Emma, I'm... look, I'm not saying this because I'm jealous or anything, but Alex is a no for you.""And why exactly is that?" She turned to face me fully now, crossing her arms under her breasts. I remembered how I touched them earlier, making the urge to touch her again creep in, and I quickly forced myself to look at her face."Because... because I just don't have a good feeling about him."God, I sounded like an idiot.Where was that smooth-talking alpha who could command respect with just a

We were both breathing hard now, the air in the car electric with tension and pain and seven years of unresolved hurt."I thought you didn’t want me. You saying you didn’t want to go through the mating ceremony and getting married to another one seemed like that to me," she whispered."And I thought you didn’t want me either. For you to bring up the rejection first, that’s why I didn’t bother to even explain anything. It seemed you’d already made up your mind," I whispered back. The silence that followed was different from before. It was heavy with possibility, with all the words we should have said seven years ago. This was exactly how we should have fought back then—not with silence or ultimatums. Not with her threatening to reject me and expecting me to beg, when I was also trying to handle things the only way I knew how.I turned away from her and looked through the window, breathing heavily. I didn’t know why, but I felt relieved now. I loved this conversation more than the one w
