Chapter Fifty-four

His heart thumped when he met the butler’s polite gray irises.

“Alpha Klaus instructed me the previous day to prepare an early breakfast for you.” He gave a small bow. “Please wait right here while I go to rouse Alpha Klaus.”

“That wouldn’t be necessary,” a deep voice belted from behind them and Roy swallowed hard, still in shock with his tongue glued to the roof of his mouth.

This was his cue. Immediately, Roy straightened and shot down the hall in the direction of the living area without looking back but before he’d taken a few paces, an arm snaked around him, holding him in place.
