Chapter thirty-five

“We can’t just fly to Kauai!” Roy had a hard time keeping up with Bryan. The car ride back from the office had been spent mostly in silence on his part while Bryan had a furious conversation on the phone. Although he was most-definitely speaking English, Roy could barely make out what he was saying from how fast he was hissing out, ‘father.

Anyway, the mention of father was enough clue for Roy to have a hint of the identity of the person on the other end of the line.

Roy hadn’t been entirely concerned, content with looking out of the window during the ride as he’d assumed that Bryan was just being nice by taking him home.

Because of that, it took him a while to take in the fact that they were indeed leaving the state and that the limousine was parked right in the center of an airport hangar.

“Yes, we can,” Bryan answered as he took Roy’s hand and practically dragged him with him, “Remember I told you we had a place to be?”
