And just like that, Bryan’s irritation at Roy died out. It was impossible to stay mad at him when Roy was just so – Roy.

His hands slowly brushed off the bits of mac and cheese that managed to touch his shirt.

The people around them were futilely trying to stifle their laughter.

Roy wanted to die of embarrassment. He colored, recalling how he’d slammed into Bryan on his first day.

Had he just spit out food on Bryan’s expensive clothing? “I’m sorry---”

“It’s my fault,” Bryan said politely as he dragged the executive seat from another desk and placed it next to his.

He could have sat on any of the plain armchairs across Roy’s desk, but Bryan being Bryan, he would rather not settle for anything less than the best unless it was entirely necessary.

The fact that he was starting to understand how Bryan’s mind worked made Roy smile. It also made him hope that things were going to be better now and Bryan would stop giving him the cold shoulder.

“Are you still angry?” He blurted out.
