Chapter 3

Gigi Pov

"You're Prince Phil? The dog that my sister idolizes?" I asked him in an annoyed tone with my eyebrows almost meeting their ends.

When Phil heard what I have said, his face darkened even more. He quickly pulled out his sword from his waist and pointed it at me. But my father immediately blocked his body in front of me.

"Please forgive Gigi for what she's saying, Your Majesty. She doesn't know what she's talking about. She hasn't recovered from the trauma she suffered when her mother died so I'm begging you to forgive her, and for my loyalty to the royal family for a long time," my father pleaded again. Phil looked at me badly. But I didn't feel afraid of him even knowing that he was the cruel werewolf prince in the story of my sister's novel. I was even more pissed off at him because my father was begging him.

"Why are you begging him, Dad? What I'm saying is true, isn't it? He's a dog," I said to my father.

"Stop speaking ill to our majesty, Gigi. Kneel and ask for his forgiveness, right now," my father answered me in a firm voice.

"Dad, they don't own us. We are human while he is a dog," I said to my father unwillingly. I bent down and picked up a fairly large rock and was about to throw it at Phil, but the truth is I'm not going to throw the stone at him. I just wanted to scare him. Don't dogs get scared when they see people throwing stones at them and then they back away? Maybe this dog will back off when I pretend to throw stones at him. "Get out of our sight, you stupid dog!" I shouted. I heard the people around me gasp loudly and even my father also gasped when he heard what I said to Phil. While Phil's eyes suddenly flared up with anger because of what I called him.

"You are a blasphemer! How dare you call me a dog! Aren't you afraid to die?" Phil shouted angrily. "I am not a dog! I am a werewolf. I am the second prince of this kingdom! And I will show you that I am a werewolf and not a dog just like what you say!"

Phil approached me and held me by both shoulders then looked me in the eyes. In an instant, the color of his eyes suddenly changed. From being black it turned yellowish. His eyes were scary and I felt like he was going to bite me. At this moment, the fear suddenly returned to my mind when I saw the terrifying eyes of the wolf-dog that attacked and bit me.

My eyes are seeing now the eyes of a wolf-dog and not the eyes of a werewolf prince. Phil's sharp look as a werewolf was no different from the wolf dog's eyes. In my fear, I screamed out loud before my vision suddenly went dark. And it was as if my strength was pulled down that I suddenly fell onto the road But I didn't feel the hard and rough road on my body because I was immediately caught by strong arms that I was sure belonged to my father.

When I opened my eyes I was inside a large and luxurious room and I was lying on a soft bed. My father was sitting on the edge of the bed, and suddenly, his face filled with joy when he saw that I was awake.

"You're finally awake, Gigi. Do you know that I'm worried about you?" he said, a relief was seen in his face. When I was about to get up from lying down, he quickly supported me so that I could lean against the headboard of the bed. I accidentally grabbed both of his arms and felt that his muscles were not as hard as the arms that caught me before I passed out. That means he is not the owner of those strong arms. And since he and Phil were the only people that were close to me, one of them must have caught me. But I've now proven that it wasn't Dad so it must have been Phil who caught me. Instead of being happy because of what he did, I just frowned and felt more annoyed. He scared me that's why I fainted.

"Dad, is the dog the one who caught me earlier when I passed out?" I asked him reassuringly.

My father closed his eyes and held his balding head as if he didn't know what to do with me.

"Phil is not a dog but a werewolf. A werewolf prince," he corrected my miscalling Phil. "Besides, where did you get the courage to talk back with him? Not only that, you called him a dog and tried to stone him. Do you know that I wanted to pass out earlier because I was so scared of him? I really thought he was going to kill you earlier. It's a good thing he stopped himself from killing you. Maybe it's because I said you're not yourself because of the trauma that happened to you when you were young. If I don't think of a good lie earlier, I will definitely bring you home as a corpse," my father gave me a long sermon. "Are you not scared of him?"

I frowned at what he said. "He's not scary, Dad. Just don't let me see his dog eyes because it gives me creepy feelings. The only thing that scared me earlier was his yellowish eyes because—"

"You even managed to reason with your father, Gigi. Do you know that because of what you did, your family and all the people living in this house could be killed instantly?" a woman who entered the room suddenly spoke and she was very angry. She was beautiful even if she aged a bit, glamorous but looks strict and grumpy. It's obvious from her face that she doesn't have a good attitude and she also doesn't like me. Well, the feeling is mutual because I feels that I don't like her the moment I saw her strict face.

"And who are you?" I asked her with raised eyebrows.

The woman's face darkened but stopped herself from immediately showing me her true nature.

I know that you still don't accept me as your second mother, Gigi. But I hope you will at least respect me as your father's second wife," she answered me. She sniffed and wiped her tears from the corners of her eyes even though there were no tears.

"She's my stepmother? You changed my mom, Dad? Why? Why did you do that to my Mom?" I exclaimed angrily when I heard what the woman said. I forgot that I was in the world inside the novel that Gigi was reading and my parents were not here. But why does my Dad in the real world looks like my father in this world?

"Can you stop rebelling, Gigi? We're all going to be ruined by what you're doing. You know how dangerous Phil is but you managed to make him angry earlier. I'm begging you to stop rebelling against me," my father begged while shaking his head. "I think you should rest well so you can think straight."

After my father spoke he stood up and walked out of the room still shaking his head. My stepmother immediately followed dad but before she turned her back on me, she left me a meaningful smile.

"An evil smile of an evil stepmother," I said to myself after the two of them left the room I was in which I thought was my room in this house. I took a deep breath and then lay down again. I don't know how can I get out inside this novel and get back to the real world. But that's not the only problem I'm having right now. I'm also wondering what I'm going to do with people I don't know. If I had only known that I would be included in the novel, I would have forced myself to read the story so that somehow I would know something about the lives of each character in this story. But other than knowing Phil is a werewolf prince, ruthless, and has a secret woman he loves, I don't know anything else about the characters in the story. So how can I fit in with the people around me now? "Lord, please ask for someone who will believe me once I tell her the truth that I am from another world."
