Chapter 6

Gigi Pov

"You're dumbfounded again, Gigi. I've noticed you're always like that for a few days," Cindy commented impatiently when she found me standing in front of the open window inside my room and staring into the void.

It's been one week since I mysteriously got inside the novel that my sister was reading but until now I still have no idea how to get out of here. During my one-week stay here I only went out once. And that was the second time Phil and I have met. The day I proved that he was indeed a ruthless werewolf. I shook my head as I remembered what I witnessed that day. I don't want to remember that horrible scene anymore. And I hope our paths will never cross again. Although I know that that can't happen while I am here inside the novel world, I still secretly wish that I would never see that man again.

"I have something to ask you, Cindy," I stared at her with a serious face. She didn't answer me but her face showed curiosity about what I was going to ask her why my face was so serious. "Do you know a human or werewolf living here who has magic? I mean, someone who can do unbelievable things."

"Royal blood werewolves have the power to do incredible things as you say, Gigi. Prince Phil is like that. He was able to defeat the soldiers of the other packs by himself alone. Isn't that unbelievable?" Cindy answered smiling. She didn't get what I meant.

"I'm not talking about that kind of stuff, Cindy. What I mean are people who can fly, create fire with their hands, or even have the ability to travel into the future. Those kinds of powers, I mean," I explained to her.

Cindy frowned as she seemed more confused by my questions. "I don't think there's anyone like that in the world, Gigi. If you're asking about the ability of a human or a werewolf to be able to move quickly and read other people's minds, I can answer that. Because only the alpha king and Prince Phil have powers like that."

My hope only crumbled when I heard Cindy's words. In that case, I don't have anyone to approach to solve my problem. It just means that I will stay in this world for a long time. But I don't want to be here. I don't fit in here because I'm not a character in the story of the novel.

Although I felt depressed by what I heard something still caught my attention. Cindy said that only the alpha king and Phil are werewolves who can read other people's minds and act smartly. As far as I know and based on what I've read and watched about werewolves, they all act smart.

"Aren't all werewolves smart? Why did only two of them have that ability?" I couldn't stop asking Cindy.

"I don't know. All I know is that they are the only ones who have that kind of ability. The other werewolves are also agile and have sharp hearing just like Prince Percy but Prince Phil's agility, and sharpness of hearing are stronger and also he can shapeshift even any time and even without the help of the full moon. Others also say that Prince Phil is more agile, and powerful than the alpha king," Cindy explained but only in a low voice, especially in the last words that she said.

"That's why Phil is rude and arrogant because he's proud that he is very powerful," I sneered after hearing Cindy's story.

"So when your paths cross again, do not insult him or just avoid him because he is not an ordinary werewolf. He is dangerous and scary. Maybe what else he will do to you when you consume all his patience? You have nothing against him," Cindy warned me worriedly.

I was silent for a few moments at what she said. She was right. I must not scold Phil anymore if we met again but since I can't do that so I should just avoid him. He is a ruthless werewolf and I have witnessed how ruthless he is. So I better just follow what Cindy said. I will avoid Phil when our paths cross again.

"You're right. I should avoid that ruthless dog," I agreed with Cindy after taking a deep breath. She didn't answer but just nodded. "Cindy, can you accompany me to go somewhere outside the house? I felt bored staying inside this house," I asked her.

"Sure, I will. It's good for you so that you won't get lost in the void again," she answered me with joy on her face. I just smiled at her. I think that the real Gigi who lives in this world was lucky to have a kind and loyal attendant just like Cindy. How I wish I could bring out her back into my world and be my best friend. But I know it won't happen so I just smile at her. After I got dressed we went out of my room together.

"Where are you going, Gigi?" Shan's voice came from somewhere. I rolled my eyes and looked for where her voice was coming from. I found her standing behind us with a frown on her face.

"We're going out of the house. Why? Do you want to come with us again?" I asked her.

Shan quickly shook her head. "No, thanks. Be careful on the way because you might meet some bad werewolves and you might suddenly pass out again because of fear," she warned me. But I couldn't hear the concern in her voice, instead, it was like she was teasing me. What I don't understand is why she has to pretend to be nice in front of me if she really doesn't like me.

"I didn't pass out because of the bad werewolves we met but because of what Phil did. And I will still pass out when it will happen again especially if the heart I will see is your heart and it's beating in his palm," my voice answered with annoyance. I want her to show me her true color. I don't know why I feel something bad about her when she shows me so much kindness. And also in the story, Shan was a kind lady. Maybe because I feel that her kindness toward me is not sincere.

"What are you talking about, Gigi? Don't scare me," Shan answered quickly in a voice mixed with fear. She even stroked her arms as if she was horrified by what she heard.

"I'm not scaring you, Shan. I'm just telling the truth," I answered her as if I didn't care how she will feel, then I examined her from head to toe. I guess she will also leave the house because of her posture, wearing nice clothes that are obviously not plain house clothes. "How about you? Are you going somewhere too? Don't tell me that you're going to meet Prince Phil. Aren't you afraid of him?"

The truth is I was just annoying her on purpose. I asked her if she would meet Phil only to catch her. But when I saw that her face suddenly turned red and she seems worried I confirmed that what I said was right.

"You're going to meet that werewolf prince, Shan? I won't allow it! I've ordered you to stop communicating with him several times because he's a dangerous creature! But why are you stubborn and don't want to listen to me?" Sahara's voice was full of anger. She was walking down the hallway with her attendants when she heard my words.

"Mother, Phil is not a bad werewolf. Don't believe the envious people who have no choice but to discredit Prince Phil," Shan defended Phil. She even emphasized the word "envious" which seemed to refer to me. Then she gave me a sharp look. I shook my head slightly. Phil turned out to be her bottom line. That's the only thing that can bring out her true character. My hunch about her is true. But I don't understand something. Why Shan suddenly becomes a different person now when I know that she was kind inside the novel? Did the story change because of my sudden appearance in this world?

"Are you blind and deaf, Shan? Don't you hear what people are saying about him? And also didn't you witness the horrible thing he did in front of you?" Sahara asked her daughter angrily. Her voice stops me from thinking about the sudden changes in some novel characters in this story.

"I don't care what people say about Phil, Mother. The only thing that matters to me is that I love him. And no matter what you say, my feelings for him will not change," Shan said tearfully to her mother then she gave me another sharp look before running to her room. She didn't even stop or turn around even when her mother called her name.

I couldn't help but shakes my head again when Shan was no longer in front of us. But not because she looked at me sharply but because I felt like I was a villain in her life. I'm like a female villain in a novel who wants to separate Shan and Phil because of my prejudice toward the latter. Shan and Phil are the main protagonists and I am the villain.
