Chapter Fifty-Five

Autumn

Once everyone had gone home, I had some time alone with Ty before my brother and his mom came. I sat on the chair next to his bed but he managed to persuade me to join him by saying, "Come on. Don't you want to make the patient happy? They say the happier I am, the faster I get better."

I rolled my eyes and sat on the bed next to him. I looked over my shoulder at his gorgeous yet bruised face. "Now, what?"

He threw his arms around me and pulled me back to lie on the bed with him. "Now we cuddle."

"I thought you said you're sick," I nudged him and got back to a sitting position.

He groaned. "I am. And now you just poked where it hurts most." I looked down and realized that I'd accidentally poked his side, right below his chest where two of his ribs were broken.

"Oh my god," I covered my mouth in panic. "I'm so sorry. Are you hurt?"
