Chapter Twenty-One: Castle on the Hill

Autumn POV

I did not know how I’d gotten there, sitting in the bleachers and watching football. A game that I didn’t quite get a grasp of it. But I was accepting anything that would take my mind off things: things that would remind me of my own problem.

I’d told the girls about what happened between Joe and me. None of them liked my relationship with him, but they had different reactions to my news. Jess had been super pissed. She hated that I’d gotten hurt. Mey had said nothing, but she’d given me a hug. Norma, on the other hand, had simply said that she was glad this whole thing was over.

“That new guy is so hot!” said Jess while nudging both Norma and me, who were sitting on her left and right.
